Agreed. I don't want to give up either method. However, I would much prefer a way to build my own tag sets in a portable, deliverable format. I'd rather have a good set of basic tags, plus the ability to create my own <LOOP-BACKWARDS> tags, or whatever unpredictable and insane stuff I need in my applications. And if that is coming in 1.1 (maybe?) then I can live with having to put raw scripting into my JSP until then.
