Back in the old days? Like the sport of witch burning in Europe? Take a very recent example, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg broke off from the Kingdom of the Netherlands because they were "not willing to accept a (female) Grand Duchess under Salic law" (quote from Wikipedia). That was in 1890, about 3 decades into the reign of Empress Dowager Cixi in China, and exactly 1200 years after Wu Zetian assumed the formal Emperor title for the 15 years. Granted, conventional wisdom tends to paint both female rulers negatively. Then, there's Jiang Qing who deserves every bits of hate thrown at her. -- Dr. Core -------------------------------------------------- The Gundam Mailing List MK-II [email protected] Archives: http://www.gundam.com/gml Help: Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] with this in the BODY: help list
