Yes, I'd be surprised if it was more than 2 or 3 thousand; there were
1500 responses to the USG inquiries, and maybe another 2000 in toto
have sent mai labout this top since it started.
But, I rememeber a day when tha number was two dozen or so, and there
has always been, is now, and will always be a dichotomy betweem those
who favor a regulated single point of control and an unnatural
homogonization of the DNS[1], and those that prefer diversity and
decentralization.[2] Give the trand hasn't changed in 4 years, I
wouldnt expect it to change anytime soon.
[1] The "my way or the highway" model. It'll all work
likt *this* and we're in charge. It is THE model for
dns and no other models shall there be.
[2] Let all models have a go. Let the freemarket sort
them out. Regulation has far caused more problems that
it's solved.
