I am hosting the list, and not filtering or restricting anyone. Get over
the Gentoo factor man :)

Many times discussions don't take place till I stir the pot.

That was regarding the self appointed leader comment. But hey better
than no leader right?

Dude I haven't said no or gone against it. JaxLUG has a Facebook page,
and thats great. More so since I did not have to create it or do
anything there. Though would be nice to know who did :)

I never said go IRC or go home and I have not even pushed use of the IRC
channel much since I created it a few months back. Which I think was a
suggestion from other group members. Not something I did just because I
wanted to, or on a whim.

As for stepping up, thats more in presenting or doing something for the
LUG. If your commenting on leadership, then you should be willing to
lead yourself. Like the saying, do something, lead follow or get out of
the way :)

No, I did not say that. But you should not be making comments along the
lines of self appointed leadership or casting any stones towards those
who are leading, or at least making some effort to lead. Considering the
void and that no one else other than me is stepping up on many things.

In simplest form, making sure we have presenters and meetings every
month. Everyone could participate there, and well :)

Yes, and IRC is very important and relevant to Linux. But it does
encompass a much larger community as FOSS software has moved from being
Linux only to running on anything.

You can do all that and more via IRC. Again things we do are not
changing, its just where we do them ;)

No desire to keep face, I am trying to bring aspects of the rest of the
tech world to Jacksonville. If people here want to discard that, then
their choice :)

Again we have had a Facebook page for months. Many users had no clue.
Its not easily found on Facebook, and its done nothing for the group.
But I guess we MUST have a Twitter feed now, or the JaxLUG will die.

We are just creating more places to look, and more places for
information to go stale. All around its just more and more work, and who
is actually doing the work?
