If you don't mind paying the $10 a month the rent to modem and 4.99 for the 
Wi-Fi, then I would keep the Time Warner modem. That being said it's cheaper in 
the long term to have your own equipment, and if you purchase an Arris cable 
modem make sure you register it on their website because there is a two year 
manufacturers warranty on the modem. It's a matter of choice obviously but I 
think if you are smart and spend wisely and do your research you will be better 
off with your own equipment.
