Hi Tony,

I just know you're going to get a dozen+ replies on this but briefly, cloning
[the UTOC- User Table of Contents] is a means of copying the track
information from one MD to another. From now on I'll drop the [U]TOC.

It's main use is in recovering deleted tracks, when a track is erased the TOC
is updated to show that the space occupied by that track is now empty but
the data is still intact on the disc and only the TOC was changed. By cloning
a different TOC (usually a single track full disk TOC) onto a MD which has
had a track accidently deleted, you regain all the contents of the MD, inc. the
deleted track-- provided you haven't made further recordings. All track marks
titles etc will be lost but you do have your music back.

Cheers,

identical DNA makeup, allowing us to genetically engineer food animals with
a much greater meat efficiency?"
