As I recall, the first generation of the Focus was suposed to be a
"world car" -- something that Ford could make and sell in all their
markets with little alteration.  Maybe that's why those models had a
"Euro" feel, fairly firm suspension, decent handling, fairly peppy
feeling drivetrain, and a spartan interior more focused on function than
gizmos.

I admit to being unfamiliar with current Focuses (Foci?).  Do they have
ceiling mounted DVD players?
