Any attendees can organize a BOF - they're not all run by speakers. If I recall correctly - and this is going back nearly two years now - Vince and another speaker submitted titles/abstracts on the same topic (or a similar topic - and they may both have been invited to submit, as per usual cf.Objective() protocol). The committee picked the other speaker for that topic. As I say, it was two years ago. When the BOF was discussed, it was made clear that the person leading the BOF has to be an attendee (whether paid attendee or comp'd speaker). Vince chose to pay to attend the conference so he could run the BOF. I don't know whether he attended any sessions - as an attendee, he was clearly welcome and entitled to do so. There was no "fight" involved. As for "I thought the part about it being an official Steering Committee announcement..." - well, I saw a post on your personal blog rather than the official Open BlueDragon site / blog so you can see why I thought it was not an official committee position. I see you've now updated the blog to make that clear which definitely helps (but it would have been better to have posted it on the OpenBD site instead, don't you think?). As I've said several times to several people, I really do hope that we see some CFML on GAE talks at conferences. I think it's a very interesting subject and I know a lot of CFers are interesting in the cloud in general and GAE in particular. -- Sean A Corfield -- (904) 302-SEAN Railo Technologies US -- http://getrailo.com/ An Architect's View -- http://corfield.org/ "If you're not annoying somebody, you're not really alive." -- Margaret Atwood -- Open BlueDragon Public Mailing List http://www.openbluedragon.org/ http://twitter.com/OpenBlueDragon mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en !! save a network - please trim replies before posting !!
