Yes, there was a heated discussion within the conference committee about the issue - but Vince, himself, did not have a fight. In fact, the fight was mostly mine - I brought the proposal to the committee and I pushed for it. I was quite the advocate for Open BlueDragon back then. I went through my committee emails from March 2008 and this is the sequence of events: Vince asked me if he could present Open BlueDragon as a BOF** and I made the proposal to the committee on March 17, 2008. Matt supported me on this (thank you). A few others agreed (and of course a few did not). Vince registered for the two-day option. I posted on March 21 that I would add the BOF to the schedule and publicize it. ** Here's the exact quote from Vince that I presented to the committee: "I could show how to download, install, and configure it from a user perspective, and show developers how to build and debug the project, along with an overview of the code structure. I’d be happy to do this as a bird-of-a-feather evening session." > Great! Well, I can't promise the content committee will accept the speaker/topic but I will certainly be an advocate for it - as I've indicated. -- Sean A Corfield -- (904) 302-SEAN Railo Technologies US -- http://getrailo.com/ An Architect's View -- http://corfield.org/ "If you're not annoying somebody, you're not really alive." -- Margaret Atwood -- Open BlueDragon Public Mailing List http://www.openbluedragon.org/ http://twitter.com/OpenBlueDragon mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en !! save a network - please trim replies before posting !!
