Hey Ann:

So, evidenced-based practice can be construed to mean:

1. Evidence that a treatment has been demonstrated to work

2. Evidence that current treatment is working

~~~~~
A follow up question I have is this:
On  what  evidence  should  OT  practitioners  be  focusing on? Should it be
evidence that a certain type of treatment improves shoulder range of motion?
Should  it  be  evidence  that  occupation-based treatment improves range of
motion?  Should it be evidence that improving occupation improves quality of
life. And the list can go on forever.
Obviously,  we  can't  have evidence that every single intervention, domain,
practice  pattern,  is effective. So where should OT (as a profession) place
it's focus?
Thanks,
Ron
