That would be annoying, but why turn the player off at all? I dont turn it off because a Rpi doesnt use much power and I dont want to wait for it to boot.
I have my Denon trigger out controlling an outlet that turns my DAC and a tube preamp I use for music on/off when the input is selected. When picore player loses the connection to the DAC the music is paused and restarted instantly when the input is selected because the DAC comes back on.
