This topic comes up every now and then, so let's explore it fully to see where it goes. The new thread is called "Model T" because that's the car that simplified the young car industry and boosted it to the next level. So the main questions to be answered here are:

1) What's the minimal cost to construct and battle a tank for the first time?

2) How many hours does it take to construct a tank the first time?

3) Which parts are readily available and which parts must be created in the workshop?

4) If a starter kit were produced, how much would it reduce the time to construct a tank and/or increase the project cost?

Feel free to contribute as much or as little to every answer (or add more questions) based on your lessons learned and we'll start pulling together the collective wisdom into a How To article. Many of you may be surprised by the outcome of this design analysis.

What about someone coming up with a design that is a new breakthrough

participate in some version of this hobby could be increased?
