Recently (i.e. since April) there have been a number of small fixes in 7.9.2 varying from fixing playlist re-start after power up to LMS hangups with https - any of which could have been part of the problem (i.e. same symptom but many possible causes). All together upgrading to a new version of LMS is usually beneficial (however as LMS is a community project remember fixes are often not tested by a wide variety of LMS users/plugins/systems). bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110469 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Hard to start iPlayer after waking Win10 PC
You were right, it was wishful thinking. The original problem (of not being able to play the radio station that was playing when the PC went to sleep) is still there, it just seems to be intermittent. In fact today the radio stream automatically started playing all by itself, although it took a while (30 seconds type of thing). It is not a big problem.. rbl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4517 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110469 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The order means try first type and if that fail got to second etc. This can be useful when some Listen Again programs are only available in podcast MP3 so DASH and HLS would fail. FlashAAC used to be useful for very old programs played with BBCiPlayerExtra - these are nearly all gone. > The MP3 and AAC bits make me a little nervous that some of the quality > is lost (I do listen to BBC3 a bit which, unlike the other stations, > seems to be pretty good quality). I can't test UK streams. For R2 or R4 - in the UK the MP3 stream is supposed to be about 339kbps (at least according to the BBC imda URL). I thought above 320kbps for MP3 is very good especially for talking and casual listening programs. BBC make R3 special and it is the only station to have an high quality AAC stream. It can be played via the BBCiPlayer "MP3" menu. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110469 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

TBH I am not too bothered that it doesn't automatically start itself on waking, although I am surprised that it works with S4/(Hibernate) but not S3. The main problem seems to be fixed. Thanks at least I now know what to test at some point. My W10 PC has the same states but when I testing I have been using the "power" control which offer "Sleep" , "Restart" or "shutdown!. No indication what "Sleep" corresponds to - Hibernate, S3 or Hyrbid Sleep. My Hibernate does not need a password ! My PC is not wired as it is not normally in use as Windows or even LMS server. To test would require wiring a player and also wiring the W10 server. So when PC is put to sleep - all the players are actually playing. Synced players add a level of timing resulting in undetermined variability which I think could affect playback especially coming out of sleep. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110469 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Hard to start iPlayer after waking Win10 PC
I did a quick test with a WIn 10 system and a SB Radio I set up playing R4 live and then put Win10 system to "sleep" via power off menu. Radio eventually stopped and showed red wifi. I then woke up the W10 system via keyboard and Radio showed "Rebuffering 0%", then "rebuffering failed" and then started playing the stream OK. To understand how this is not working on your system you need to give more detail for example as there are too many variables for me to look for the problem scenario. 1. How your W10 system goes to sleep (i.e. what command given and how ) 2. What sort of player ? and how is it used ? For example, is player tuned off after W10 goes to sleep, left on and used to wake W10 3. Any messages in log or on screen etc. There are two scenarios to be tested: (i) sleep less than 3 hours and (ii) sleep more than 3 hours. I have shown that (i) works OK for me in one setup. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110469 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Hard to start iPlayer after waking Win10 PC
Basically playing live stream on DASH,. Live DASH is a format which is a playlist of 6 sec file each with a timestamp. DASH stream can be paused and they can stay paused of up to 3 hours. So if you have a "pause" setting and then resume - the stream will try to continue when it left off (i.e. pause for 2 hours and it will play the stream as it was 2 hours ago) - is that your intent ? The DASH has been written so that if stream are paused for more than 3 hours - they will start again from "live" as if no pause. I think this may be the problem - after pausing and then waking up, the stream is trying to continue playing the stream at the time of the pause. I have tested long pauses (> 3 hrs) on a Linux system and it worked OK. However on your system it may be trying to play DASH chunk with a very old timestamp and so no longer exist. However the fact the pause fails for sleeps of less than 3 hours make this unlikely. A couple of workaround in the interim: 1. Change the Player/Audio setting to "Stop on Power off / "Restart Playlist at power up" or "Stop on Power off / "Reset Playlist at power up" - however these settings may not be acceptable to you for other stations etc. 2. Try HLS or MP3 streams. Both now have same metadata, HLS has same audio quality as DASH. HLS does not have the 3hr facility but I have never tested long pauses with HLS. "Live Stream preference" set to "HLS > DASH > MP3 > FlashAAC" (dashflac is gone) - if you make use of pauses/skip back/forward then HLS or MP3 may not be acceptable. I don't use Windows as a main system so over next few days I'll try to boot up a Windows system and test long pauses. I cannot replicate the "wakeup " over LAN. What is the Windows 10 setting that you use to put your system to sleep ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110469 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
