I believe, TB! puts message into temporary file first and AV can catch it
there. My AVP did it, but I didn't try to clean this file, just deleted -
nothing was destroyed, I didn't get infected message and that's it.
And if you store attachments separately AV definitely can check it and
even clean it up with no problem.

Can anybody explain 2 thinks (I am *really* asking):
  1. Why would you send *huge* attachment through e-mail which is *not*
optimized for it instead of using ftp or something else which is developed
*exactly* for it?
  2. Why would you store *huge* peace of data using mail client (and
specially *inside* its mail database), which is *not* optimized for it
instead of using some database engine?

You can't make your application do *everything*. If you try - you get MS
Office. :) So may be let do mail client do mail client job and don't try to
deliver furniture with sport car? :)

May be this is not a so bad idea to create *DB* DB engine for TB! mail
database, but this is a very different story and at least it should be
separate application. Look at the UNIX world: even "monsters" like Oracle
use *separate* executables to do *DB* job, to do backup and recovery and to
work with flat files.

The problem with XP: it's buggy itself. MS doesn't care about fixing bugs
up to release. So you can really deal with any version of Windows (and any
kind of *commercial* software - Delphi is included :)) approximately in year
after first release. Before this period you would just try to break a wall

next Beta. It doesn't make any sense - to optimize something for XP *now*.

It *very* useful, if you want to share some mail with other people in a

  Let say OS bug. :)

I'm just afraid of putting virus on my computer by purpose. And my AV
Monitor wouldn't allow me to do it (I don't want to disable it). We can
discuss sending couple of *pretty harmless* viruses to my address, but let
do it out of list and *don't* send them to address below. Just e-mail to
this address and I'll give you "target" (box I don't check from office).

No, it doesn't allow you to receive infected letter (by locking temporary
file *before* it being imported to mailbase). And you *can* delete infected
attachment, if it's stored separately (just *delete*, not *move to trash
basket* :)).

Re[2]: Windows Commander

I understand, that it's pretty late to answer, but I was busy and just
read your letter. Right after new format appeared on TB! ftp site I
realized that WC didn't unpack TB! archive any more (but command line unrar
did). I complained to Christian Ghisler and see what I got next day:

This solution worked out perfectly, so if you didn't resolve this problem
yet - follow it.
