I'm sorry to hammer the board with all these messages but I found one more
criteria for the chirp to appear:
I have all 8 pole filters: 250Hz, 400Hz, 1.8kHz, 2.8kHz an 6.0kHz installed
in the main RX. I am not able to reproduce the problem when WIDTH is set
from 400Hz or less. It's only from 450H
act
at the 'problem FC' to cause the problem.
If you can't reproduce it with these exact settings, maybe try to vary the
sift control a few notches.

With the 1.2.1.6 K3 Utility for OSX I get the message that I have the newest

Does anyone have a direct link to download 02.78?

Yes I did Guy. But Wayne B. wrote me an e-mail and suggested I hold the

I cannot seem to adjust the center freq. anymore for CW and data. I also lost
my side tone.
Center freq is locked to 0.00 on CW and 1.35 on Data. Both with the asterisk
showing.
Monitor and center freq. works fine on SSB.

No... I'm running 2.67. Just updated today. Is there a newer version than
what the K3 Utility installs when I click the "Check Versions Now" button?
But that would explain my problem

I just received and installed the KRX3 and KDVR3 today. Everything works
great except maybe one thing:
1) When I tap M1-M4 for playback of messages it goes to TX plays them. THis
is correct but it does not return to RX. Is this just the nature of the
beast?
2) when I record audio with the AF REC
It's been a while since I last saw anyone report a KRX3 arrival. Does anyone
know what the current status is?
I ordered mine along with my K3 March this year. The K3 arrived in August
but I haven't heard anything about the KRX3 yet. Looking forward to it
however!! :)

If you want some of the best money can buy I would suggest the AKG HSC271.
You can also get AKG's without microphone.

Has anyone received or tried the DVR yet? I'm not sure if this is yet to be

be shipped to me sometime late this fall - but I have a late serial number

If I had travelled myself I would have brought it. But since it will be a

reasonably sure it'll get here in one piece.

2) Or it could be that your headphone jack is defect. You can test this with
an ohm meter.

Thanks for the input Dave. It sounds like a good solution.
But I'm curious: Why does lifting the ground leg of the regulator and
'inserting' a diode in series compromise the regulator's short circuit
protection? Does it require a direct connection to ground?

tage up to 3.8 volt according
to the manual you can solder a 10K resistor across RP6 pins 3-4 on the
control board (Gary from Elecraft suggested this for me). This works great
and I now see 3.8V but it doesn't really make much of an audible difference.

The receiver is now working very nice with an IMD of -136db. The filter/BFO
set-up went without a hitch and RX sounds like a million bucks with
absolutely no signs of ringing with tight filtering.
