Banking firm where down time can cost us as much as $1 million bucks an

Can't you just build up a recovery server on a cheapie white box? You could
use your F&P server if you must.
Read the Exchange Disaster Recovery white papers. We just did it.

done on some SMTP forwarding app or gateway outside Exchange.
