Does anybody know where a complete list of how to's on this subject is I have tried turntable.com but came up short, I am specifically looking for the pitch adjustment increase to 13% and the instantanious platter stop when you hit the start/stop button. Or does anyone just know how to do this on a MK2? Are there other cool stock mods, without forking out more dough?? Thanks in advance. YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Sunday night would be kewl. Isn't the 430 West on Saturday night? That's a must-do for me. This schedule is starting to look as full as the WMF, except without panels :)
tonight in Pittsburgh, PA (May 4th)
Hi there. I'm spinning in the Fallout Lounge at Metropol tonight. Stop by if you're in the area. I'm opening my set with the classic Modwheel track, Destination Morocco Also, I'm playing at Pluto's on Saturday, May 6th. My set should explore the harder techno-y side of tech-house... but I doubt I'll go on too long without playing something with a lush melody (eep). Aaron onnow: JFC - Strange New World (Elektrolux)

linda, please get laurent garnier to play at science. He's a sick dj from what i've heard and it would be great to hear him afterhours. i wish it were that easy. trying to tag onto some of the talent that will be here is harder than it would seem. he is amazing, and the set that he's doing for demf is actually live with his band. i've been trying to get him to detroit for over 2 years now, he had a really bad experience the last time he was here. a drive-by shooting happened at a party and the person who was shot was 2 people in front of laurent. i talked to him about it last year at wmc and have been bugging his agent - club is much different than rave, obviously. we'll see, sometimes spur-of-the-moment things happen, too. g Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
djs for may 313 5/26
hiya, all - who else is coming into town? who from detroit is staying in town? i have part of the lineup set: NOVA (WOMB.COM/MIAMI) DETRONIK (SYNTHETIC/DETROIT) LIVE IZADE (CHICAGO) O-ZONE (4TH DIMENSION/DETROIT) LIVE CYBORG K (DETROIT) LIVE SEAN DEASON (MATRIX RECORDS/DETROIT) for those of you that were here for 12/18, the entry area has been redone: the outdoor deck opens directly off of it and we are constructing a free-pour bar in between the deck and the entry area. i'm designing and building the dj booth behind the green bar, same place where the djs were spinning last time. the sound system in the main dance room has actually been upgraded twice since then. of course, i'm not going to be happy until the walls are made of titanium bass bins... :^) otto had made a suggestion that we do a list-only bbq out on the deck in the sunshine, what are the feelings on that? take care, linda g mailing list http://www.onelist.com/community/detroitscience science office 313-534-7420 science fax 313-534-5155 mobile 313-790-7300 pager 800-200-5176 Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

another track ID...thanks to you all
this one is VERY old- from back in the days when Dan and RonDcore were spinning old school-the sample is a vocal from a song that is actually being used on a commercial now. it is a lady-who sounds almost middle eastern-singing "here i am...here i am..." it has a wicked break-beat and also a hard house beat-if anyone has a clue i would be much obligedthank you ---kat
TRACK ID PLEASE!!!!!
Okay-this one is kinda old-maybe from '97 or even before- there are two vocalists- with a girl singing what sounds like "you make me feel real..." (it sounds distant, almost echo-like)- and then there is a male vocal saying "the sun is rising, the moon is shining, let yourself go..." very deep and amazing-if anyone could help I would appreciate it..thanks ahead of time-kat

When you listen long periods of U.S.-vinyl only, your ear gets used to that balanced sound. Bass is heavy, mid is delicious and the highs are clear and pleasent to the ear. Then you play something like early Rephlex-records or some typical euro record: IT'S A HEAVY-METAL ATTACK! No bass in a real sense, but way too loud mids. You don't master a dance record the way you master a rock record, if you know what you're doing... Ironically, bunch of U.S. pressing plants advertise that they can make "european style EQ" to your records... Yeah right :) If the "loud" sound on European records is nothing but excessive mid-range, then it's pretty much useless if you have to EQ it down when listened at high volumes. It's the midrange-frequencies that destroy your hearing, remember that kids (and that's why Rock-musicians are the way they are ;)). I actually have the "Anna/Beate" record and have always wondered who the producer was. It is labeled "Ernst 01." Good stuff quite similar to Brinkman's concept album. Bill VanLoo from 17:00-18:00, then we can run over together to catch the last hour of Tikiman :) But that opinion's a bit biased... ;-) Bill Phonopsia wrote: > > Anyone have suggestions on how to choose between these competing lineups @ > DEMF on Friday? > > DEMF Stage: > > 17:00 Tikiman > 19:00 DBX > > MOTOR Stage: > > 16:00 Mike "Agent X" Clark > 18:00 Theo Parrish > > UNDERGROUND Stage: > > 17:00 Bill Van Loo > 18:00 TBA > 19:00 Recloose > > I'm definitely thinking Theo Parrish from 20:00 on, but that's some serious > competition beforehand. brinkmann
these are killer cuts by thomas brinkmann. wicked and very original stuff. martin Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 20:33:18 + To: 313@hyperreal.org From: "Niall" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Help!! Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> A few months ago I picked up a record simply titled "Ulla" b/w "Vera", two tracks on each side of deep dubby techno with the titles in orange print on a lilac label - absolutely no other information on it. Last week I then found "Susie" b/w "Trixie" with orange print on a black label, again nothing other than the name! Does anyone know anything about these? I'm guessing that the alphabetical sequence 'S/T' 'U/V' is not just a coincidence and that there is (possibly!) 11 or so more of them out there. If anyone's got any info on who's to take the credit for these or what the others in the series are like, I would greatly appreciate it as I do think these 2 are rather good. Re: (313) Help!!
Niall, You've got two of Thomas Brinkmann's releases - if you see any more then buy 'em too. Chances are they'll be wicked as well. I can recommend Rough Trade in London if you want more of his stuff - they've usually got loads and they do mail order. Hope this is of some help. Re: (313) New Purpose Maker
'Lo again, I really do enjoy the new PM, and I love Mills' output in general (please no flames!) However: The one thing that really gets me going though is the quality of the vinyl it is pressed on. Is it me, or is the axis/pm vinyl some of the thinnest vinyl on earth? I've given up mail ordering mills, as inevetably it ends up at my placed warped and barely playable. I find it quite frustrating. Am I just being a bitch, or do other people find this to be the case as well? out jim (needs more coffee)

A new track of mine on mp3.com (+ other 313 tracks)
I've finally uploaded another track to mp3.com. It's taken a while but I have quite a few new tracks ready to go, mostly harder, but some (like this one) are very detroit. Feedback is always wanted! In Transit, Deep Space Description: 125 bpms. Sweet futuristic sounds, with an Atkins like bass. Uploaded 1 May 2000. http://www.mp3.com/ScottVallance -- Also some other mp3.com things to check out: Firstly, Ewan Jansen (who features in Andrew Duke's May 2000 top 20) has some tracks on mp3.com, definately worth a 313'ers time checking them out. http://www.mp3.com/ewan and his partner in crime (on redember records), Justin Zerbst http://www.mp3.com/zerbst And secondly, two 313ers who's track 'Downtown' is a favourite of mine, Project MS (Scott Pruett and Mike Taylor). I like the third mix best, but check 'em all out yourself :) http://www.mp3.com/TheMSProject

Alright, ...I guess I'll dust off the cobwebs, and give the Hawaiian Pups version a whirl at the beginning of the radio show tonite. http://www.1groove.com followed by the DBX version. Once again the show is called Equinox, and it is broadcast live from 10pm-2am Eastern Standard Time. You can always check it out for 1 week following the initial broadcast in the archives. Plus anybody with a Mac should be able to listen to the show now! - or so I've been told. Guests on the show tonite include Fred Paolo, and Dam (he might be playing some trance, so if anyone is allergic to those kind of sounds, just thought I'd point that out.). Cheers, Gerald.
