To sum up the whole discussion, the entire gammit of problems revolves about transportation difficulties, medical issues, safety, etc. No strong justification whatsoever has been given by anyone why such an exemption should be provided. Without expressing my views on whether it is the right demand or not, because I know both kinds one who want to perform at par with others and make adjustments to deal with their challenges, and others who rely on concessions yet want others to treat them equally as they have a "genuine difficulty" in their understanding. Based on the discussion so far, the whole solution lies in making arrangements either for yourself or by the employer for the transportation, which is safe and accessible to people with disabilities, medical care, in which case you can take some time to finish your hightea or dinner and have your medicins, seems completely fine. Rather than talking about concession for leaving early, focus on representing to employers about the issues which have been described in various emails and outlined above in this email as well. If a circular claiming a 15 minute relaxation is successfully found, what will ensure the availability of the bus or rickshaw in the extra 15 minutes. If I am given one from my employer will I start 15 minutes late in the evening from the work place? And if yes, why not start a little earlier as suggested. I do think central GOVT / PSU employees get convayence allowance. further more, its not too hard to make such arrangements as car-pooling / hiring some auto rikshahs or private vehicles. Vamshi, Unavoidable circumstances does not occur everyday and if that's situation of everyday, then employee needs to leave early from home. I know such things for people without disability too. As we claim we work at par with others, planning is our own responsibility. If someone say that because of disability, they need such provision then they should be prepared to admit their limitation. What if it takes more time to find a person to help us in crossing the road and hence the delay? What if we can't board a bus due to heavy crowd? What if there is no direct bus after a certain time and we have to change two or three busses which is not easy and hence the reason for early departure?
