[arr] Again..being Critics..now CWG

2010-09-02 Thread Anil Kumar
Rubbish, I dont think its worth talking about it, We all deep inside know that
the song is excellent, why would you want to compare 2 songs falling way apart
in genres, please ask shakira to compose a shehidiye (Alaipayuthe), she
cannot...I will stop listening to ARR is anyone else does,

AR Rahman is at a different level,

I still dont understand what people along with all you fans are expecting, his
songs are as good as ever, Listen to them more and more, i bet you you would
like them, I am sure we are not in a position to what to expect from him, which
is leading to all this confusion, dont just blindly compare, while listening to
a song - listen to that song only and thats it, why would you want to rate or
compare. If the media is going ga ga, let them, why would you want to add you
blah blah to it.

I like all his compilations, i dont need anyone to tell me whats good or whats
not, please decide for yourself if you want to continue doing it or not.

Thanks for Reading
Anil

everyone else ? I think only ARR and Gulzar got for the song. Music and lyrics.
And that is how it usually is. Technically even Tanvi should have got one for
the Spanish lyrics.

This has been taken from the Times of India interview of Sukhwinder Singh, what
is he talking about here?

Beyond negativity

Speaking of tuning, Sukhi's best songs were composed by A R Rahman. But, there
were reports of differences cropping up between the two when Rahman didn't take
him for the Oscars and even Grammy. To this, he says: "Success is a
celebration, which has to be cherished! I believe others' success should also
reflect on your face. And I've learnt one thing - If someone, who has always
done his best for you, suddenly starts scolding you or behaves badly - try to
remember the good things that he had earlier done for you!" But, when the two
met after the controversy, wasn't there negativity in the air? "Not at all! In
fact, I asked Rahman where's my biryani and both of us sat down and ate a
hearty meal! We did Raavan after that, and will soon work on another project
too. Rahman is a living saint, who can't do anything negative! But, there's a
virus in his hermitage, which is not from the musical world. If that virus is
not checked in time, it may just corrode his
 work."

I think arr sir last two hindi albums blue and ravan clearly shows his
disinterest for hindi music , i am very sad to say but he is not giving music
from his soul and we here in north are very much missing the vintage rahman

I think this is the order of things before a new ARR album:

1) Tentative date of music release appears online in the media. everyone is

2) First promo is released. ARR fans download the audio portion everywhere..
play it in their ipods, their cars, their super stereos, even if the clip is 20
seconds in bad sound..but it's new ARR music... Discussions abound.is
it good? ARR skeptics and naysayers chime in.."I'm very disappointed.
...album will be badwhat is ARR thinking "

3) Some funny person named Gopal in this group releases a fake track list and
half of all ARR fans everywhere believe it.

4) Music release date comes.people go to the stores to ask about the
CD...but no CD and store people give them funny lookseven claiming
never having heard of the film.disappoint ing trip back home. Where's the
CD? I thought it was going to release today! Huh? What's going on??? Chaos,
questions, uncertainty. .

5) New music date announced in media! Is it true? What's the source? Can we
trust it??? Yes, this time it's for real!

4) THE REAL track listing is provided by Gopal and posted on the official AR
websiteexciteme nt builds, tensions mountAR fans starting to drool..

5) New music release date comes.people flock to stores, wait anxiously on
the computers searching download sites... but.where' s the music?
Where's the CD? What's going on? ARREY YAAR...KYA HORA HAI? ??
"Music was supposed to release today" Realization sets in that the launch
function was set for the day, but CDs will take time to come out, another 2
weeks, due to T-series screwing up something.

6) Another music release date comes out by T-series .AR fans everywhere
very apprehensive. ..but willing to wait..wait. ..wait... ..wait...
.the waiting gets harder everyday .. Will T series deliver?

7)Another promo is released a new songsomething to chew on while we
wait for the feast... more discussions, more analyses, more downloads...
..more doubts." this doesn't sound like ARR...album will flop..I don't
have a good feeling about this...etc. etc." People on this group tell these
people to shut up and not judge a whole album just by the clips (but inside,
they're worried)

8) T series release date is changed again the day before the expected release
date due to problems in packaging and distribution. AR fans everywhere
curse T series, calling it bad names, asking why AR albums releases are always
botched up and why always with T series... Notable AR fans start to make calls
to T series people demanding an explanation and a true release date. Multiple
release dates are subsequently announced and mass confusion, frustration, chaos
among AR fans develops which is the real date? Huh? Should I go to the
music store that morning or not? ?

9) Out of the blue, the album releases unexpectedly while people are frustrated
and confused. Downloading begins everywhere while AR fans urge other AR fans to
not download and wait to buy the CD.

10) Discussions, reviews, analyses, opinions all come flooding out after
hearing the album with at least one person saying the music is a complete
disappointment.

.and a whole other chapter within the AR Rahman journey begins.. ..

2010-01-11 Thread Anil Kumar
My Review,

Aaromale - repeated - butmaan its Rahman. you will have it in your blood in
few days.
Anbil Avan - Did you by chance observe the Thavil or Mrudangam, you talk about
classic
Hosanna - Do i really need to talk about it, its in my blood already..
Kannukul kani - I am still getting into the grove of it, this will take time.
mannipaaya - Too soothing, especially the piano bit. AND who sung it...shutup
and listen
Omana Penna - Did you by chance hear violin bit, shenai..humming..buddy is
it classical?
VTV - What r u expecting, listen...Jazz written all over..not often you will
get to hear this in our movies

Don't comment negative until you listen to the songs properly and number of
timesman learn you are "Rahmania" you should be able to realize that you
may not like the songs the first time you listen.

Hey, Remember SIVAJI was also not impressive at the first few hearings.
But the songs gained popularity soon. I hope it will be like that. And I
don't think this album contains no good songs. Hosanna,Manippaya, Vinnai
Thandi Varuvaya and very good according to me. It because our BOSS is
way ahead of our time, most of the time. Keep hearing... And I hope
after watching the movie you'll change your review.

28) Kwajha Mere Kwajha(JD) Ariziyaan (Delhi 6)

The show was just fantastic, fantabulous, outstanding and wat not. The screen

for such a great great show. I am very sure ARR will be very very happy with
his performance as the previous "JAI HO" concerts were not this good enough.

how long do you think did ARR took to

wherever i read blogs, people are expressing no hope for 'blue',considering big
budget, new director, and theme of the movie- but they said rahman's music is
plus point.but good music always reach more people when the movie hits,so it
matters.after all those are songs for the movie, not for the private album, lets
hope for the best.

[arr] Rendezvous with rahman today at the chennai airport

2009-03-15 Thread Anil Kumar

Hello All

Let me start off, on 14 feb 2002 hyderabad, we missed meeting ARR, as our bike
ran out of petrol, we followed him from Gachibowli stadium till lakdikapul,
couple of my friends managed to meet him near a dargah on tankbund the same
day. We spend the entire next day waiting for Rahmam at Hotel Viceroy, but
destiny neglected it. The destiny was not against my wish today, I was on the
call with one of my friends at the airport when i saw Rahman sir walking out of
the arrivals, again as i said it was destiny's wish this time, my flight got
delayed, Paramount airways from chn to hyd. Few minutes ago me and my friend
were both talking about seeing Rahman sir at the airport, which I would never
say is not coincidence, we never imagined that at the end of the day we would
end up actually watching ARR. Thie happened as it is,
Saw ARR sir walking with his head down, suspecting the possibilities I gained a
closer look, was not able to control myself, yelled my friends name in the
waiting lounge “Gaurav Rahman”, ran out of the entry gate, forgetting the fact
that we were at the airport also luggage was left at inside, Rahman sir was
still walking towards his BMW X5, picked a pen from one of the person standing
nearby and rushed towards Rahman sir,
I said “rahman sir, autograph”, sir asked for a paper, I said “on my T shirt”,
Rahman sir refused, I said “please”, he politely said in tamil, I cannot do it
on the shirt, ….we managed to get couple of papers one ”HDFC mini statement”
and “a visiting card”.
I just don’t have words to explain my ecstasy, we had a cam phone with us,
never got a thought of taking a picture,
Well, he has been a god for me, never got chance to express it to him.

Thank you sir,

Anil

I think you are not entirely correct, Rahman has made it common these days 1
track from the list does not sound like his composition at all, and latoo latoo
sounds like one, in yuraaj sonu was wasted in the song dil ka rishta...the
string from aye bachu is spice girls also sounding similar to one of songs in
one2ka4..Osaka muraiya.

[arr] ATM too soon to decide

2007-10-25 Thread Anil Kumar
Hey Folks

been seeing the reviews of ATM, well i dont agree with
many of you,i am not saying that he has done amazing
work in ATM. But i think its too soon to decide.

His music gets into the blood slowly and then you
cannot live witout it.

The rhythm in the folk song MAdhuraiku...is awsome the
sitar and veena along with thavil are too good, the
change over in the antara is good with the violins in
the back ground.

Kellamal has good beat with good classical touch, what
you call fusion in the present world. The way the song
has been based..the pattern 12 12 12 12.
its good indeed.

Ellapuzhagalum is un-commmetable.

Listen to NeeMarln carefully, the female start with
base guitar followed by the male voice, The
modulations up and down all over the song. Maan gotcha
tell you all it souds good with more baas, with the
folk touch in the middle with the tabla around.

PonMagalVandal - is awsome. no wrords to explain

The corus is Valayapatti is very impressive..Listen to
song from 3:09 seconds onwards..am sure you will like
it..all of you.

One time listening would not help itAlmost 8 hours
of my productive work was lost as i was listening to
the songs..i heard them atleast 20 times each.

Go thru

Good Rahman sir...i liked the songs.

2007-08-03 Thread Anil Kumar
It is stupidity to expect that every bit of music what
every one scores is original, every one does pick some
or the other bit from eaither classical or western
bit, the rhythm of song telephone dhun mein hasne wali
from the movie hindustani (indian in tamil)is actually
picked from ace of base, the intro bass of song osaka
muraiya from movie one 2 ka 4 is picked from spice
girls, ther are altelst 6 which i remember which are
like inspirations or picks
he is still the musical geniuss..no need for any
explanation...

Rahman was a bit too expensive for him, I would be
