When he announced A R's name for the best background score and A R went on stage to get it, Rashid and me kept on clapping and stood up as I couldnt control my excitement for him. And know what? everyone in the room stood up and kept on clapping even as A R started his thank you speech. The claps wouldn't stop. A R says I feel akward getting these awards. SEL salim suleiman do a good job too...WHAT HUMILITY MAN !! So that's what..net net..bollywood was genuinely happy for him and showed it. Atlast when we met, I got a feeling that I must somehow accept this project, and I had a lot of faith in him. He is a man of good feelings and emotions and thus he became a good friend of mine. We experimented four types of music for this movie, and ended win a conclusion. Indian style of Music was needed, and at the same time it must be suiting International Standards. That was the thought and I tried composing in that manner. To tell the truth, I finished composing music for this movie in just two weeks. The time taken is very less compared to the time taken for doing Indian Films. As they had asked for the music even before the planned date, I kept aside other commitments, I gave a lot of immediate attention to this is the another reason. I did the music for this in London. I can firmly say that the music for this movie is something which I haven't done before. The reason is whenever I aspire to compose music differently for Indian movies, I would get the question if such a different type of music would be accepted here or not !?. And the same question would hinder in a different type of a new approach. But this movie was different, and I tried to do something independently. In India too, the music of this movie has been desired a lot. This would bring about a change in the future Indian movies that I am going to make, and would appear like a forerunner for the future. 1. *What are the **Hollywood** companies, which have approached you as of now ? * I am not in a state to accept anything. If you want Rahman from the 90s, there are PLENTY of soundtracks to choose from. I love Rahman from the 90s and I have lots of CDs I can put on if I want to go back. But, I also love Rahman of today, even if I don't cherish ALL his songs, just like in the past. He's been there, done that. Time to move forward. No more Dil Se, no more Taal. Why would you want a repeat? He's done those already! The long haul, luxury Rahman express is moving forward and ready to go the distance. If you want to join him, all aboard! If not, the slower, run down, short distance Pritam/Himesh express has limited room, but no AC compartment or first class seats.

While comparisions are always bound to be there and i have no doubt that Another Day in Paradise was a masterpiece, I think its unfair to cite genres of music with the cause that its supportingsince you mention rap...because there are innumerable hip hop artistes who are all singing for a cause (or rapping) ...not necessarily poverty eradication but the bottomline is the CAUSE...and have a huge fan following and are winning awards.. He was transiting bombay en route to his pilgrimage and then on to Torontohe spoke about a song that he had just finished mixing for Sivaji Good news on its way soon...Godfather is due by this month end or feb first week maximum but with its release a whole new league of music distribution and production will set rolling. for someone who posted about a r rs trip to miami, the news is that a r r will perform there later this year...
