Hello Taimur,

I personally don't think there is any need for you to apologize to anyone.
Your opinions are your own, and you are completely entitled to them. You
don't have to agree with anyone just for the sake of it.

Having said that, one cannot expect others to agree with your thoughts
either. If you haven't liked Raavan, and others have, so be it. You have
your reasons, if others dont agree with them, or have a different point of
view, accept it, and move on. You don't have to change your opinions just to
satisfy others.

Even I have not liked Raavan's music much. I wrote my own review about it a
few weeks ago, and since then I have hardly posted anything about the album
on this group. I realize most ppl will not agree /get worked up etc . I dont
want any of that. Sometimes the best thing to do is to keep quiet and not
comment much, esp if u realize ur the minority. (in this case, most ppl have
fallen in love with the music of Raavan, so we are kind of the minority).

BTW: u mentioned sun ri sakhi---> awesome song..i just heard it after a long
time.

Anish.

Taimur ji

I don't think anyone felt bad at your criticism of Ravan

because we all ravan lover know in our heart that ravan is great and
we are happy to get our vintage arr of 90s back after a decade in ravan.

I think only those feel bad on criticism who have some iota of doubt
in their mind about the quality of a song. When we are absolutely sure
that it is great song, we don't feel bad at criticism, we feel pity on
the persons who don't get to like such a great album.

yes Taimur, i applause the passion you have for thiruda thiruda.but repeating
the same thing again and again..its littlebit overboard taimur..no offence
Brobut i started skipping your mailsyou should keep exploring music by
adapting a open mindset or you should let othersam saying that you didn't
stop others, but keep on pitching in one point about a known universal truth is
making me dizzy. Finally for you,EVERYONE in this group knows "THIRUDA
THIRUDA" is a masterpiece..

2010-05-12 Thread Dinesh Scaran
Taimur, i have been listening to Ravanan songs for a few days, in my car or
when im using the pc, and i feel otherwise. This album would easily find its
place in the top 5 of Mani-ARR combo. Lovely songs. It has that typical
ARR-Mani touch. Esp Usere poguthey, Keda Kari and Khili Re.The rest sounds new,
but its rocking 2 bro. I think u should give it more time. :)

Btw,im not sure why everyone was criticizing Anuradha Sriram in Kaate Siriki...
I think she sounds cool there. After listening to the Hindi version, im
guessing the Tamil number was recorded first? coz the Hindi version has
Anuradha's rendition in the second interlude. Ranjha Ranjha sounds good too.
Rekha sounds great. But the energy that Anuradha provided is really great, not
sure why its being condemned...

Be here, now with Rahman's music. Enjoy the journey. The best way to enjoy AR's
music is to live with his music in the present tense, let the goose
pimples/emotions flow, and just run with it.forget comparing, forget
over-analyzing, loosen up on expectations. I mentioned some of these points in
my first review of the album...the importance of being present minded with his
music and in the moment.

If the goose-pimples don't happen, give it some time. If still not, there's
always next time.

Re: [arr] Khili re... an Ultimate melody...

2010-05-10 Thread AJ
Be here, now with Rahman's music. Enjoy the journey. The best way to enjoy
AR's music is to live with his music in the present tense, let the goose
pimples/emotions flow, and just run with it.forget comparing, forget
over-analyzing, loosen up on expectations. I mentioned some of these points in
my first review of the album...the importance of being present minded with his
music and in the moment.

If the goose-pimples don't happen, give it some time. If still not, there's
always next time.

Bravo, Neetika! Great post...I esp. love what you said here:

"For me, ARR is a source of energy which keeps emitting through music."

Exactly how I feel and well said! Listening to his music is almost like a
spiritual experience for mewell, not almost...it is! The feel, mood, and
subtle emotions are so powerful in his music that I just can't help being
captured, heart, mind and soul. I'm so grateful for this type of receptivity!

Well said Gomzy!

It's like ppl are hell bent on comparing the album to previous works and
wanting to know for themselves if it better than this or the other that they
are unable to experience the unique journey that is in Raavan and Raavanan.
Just listen to this album- no strings attached. If it still disappoints wait
for the next one.

Actually, the song is quite naughty. When it starts with choomo zara,
all we perverted minds :-) used to seeing Mallika Sherawat visuals get
some idea of what she might be saying and I was even surprised how an
ARR song is so explicit, but then she says about kissing the bansuri
(flute), meaning putting it to his lips.

and u didn't notice "Tan Bartan Bhar Ja"?

Taimur,

Dont you find the interlude atleast good? I mean are you so adamant about
not liking the songs or what. raavan is an experience. Not to be heard or
listened but experienced.

I am not angry at any of the people who dont like the raavan songs. But
saddened that my fellow Rahmaniacs are not enjoying what we are. ARR takes
us to a land of awesomeness with Raavan.

Stop judging the music. Relax your heads. For Christs sake forget Roja and
Thiruda thiruda for once and enjoy Raavan.

I am not telling you guys to listen to it cuz ARR has worked so hard on it.
We arent doing him a favor nor is he.

Just sit back and chill out man. Visualise the songs and experience Raavan.
Trust me, its so godamn awesome.
