[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Importing Sales Order Via Excel
Hi, I am importing Sales order via excel. The tables included are SalesTable,SalesLine,InventTrans and InventDim. Importing is succesful. But when I post the imported SO, I am getting error Physical remainign qty in the inventory unit must be other than zero. There are no set up problems with Units. Should I include any other table?? Or what are the necessary fields to be filled in the excel for successful posting?? Regards, Anitha

Hi James, Here are the details. *Kernel Version* : 5.0.1000.52 *Application Version* : 5.0.1001.96 We are using *SQL server 2005 SP2*. AOS and SQL server are in *different* machines. Even when any of the AOT object iscompiled, the application goes to Not Responding Status. And I guess,it is affecting AIF also . Because when I import XML , I am getting message the There is no schema for this parameter. Please configure the data policies first .When i click the Data Policies button in End Points form, the system again goes to Not Responding mode. And this settles down when the service is restarted. Is this related to the above mentioned issue? As you had mentioned, I dont think a large SQL operation could have caused this because Compiling an AOT object does not make a database call. We are trying with RU3 pack which is related to Performance/Application Crash. Kindly mail me your suggestions. Regards, Anitha. James, We are using 2 Instances. One is Test and Production. Amount of Data in test Instance is same like in Prod.(might be around * less15*% of data than prod). Test instance is used by limited number of users. But after we started using Production instance , we see the Test instance has also slowed down.Be it compilation or posting an invoice ., nothing works.System goes to Not Responding mode. Coming to your question: I had a doubt that our customization could be a reason for hanging problem. To confirm that, I compiled few objets in AOT. Now I m clear that customization is no way related to this issue. Whatever operation we do in Ax, it goes hanging mode. As Mahmoud said, it might be because of SQL Server dynamic memory management problem since both test and production instances are using same the SQL server machine with different DBs and our OS is also x64.We are working on that. Yes James.. System gets hanged when the user access the forms also : like posting an invoice, payment etc., I could see only this message in event log : Terminating the session . When the system goes to Not Responding mode, we forcibly close the application. Hi, Pls check if the *Batch* has been configured properly. Also confirm the *Port number* you are using for email parameters.I guess the problem lies in this only. I have briefed the setups again . These needs to be done before receiving any alerts. If these have been configured properly, I am sure Email alert will be through. 1. Enable receiving of alerts on the user account options 2. Setup E-mail templates (Mandatory if emails also need to be sent) 3. Setup E-mail parameters (Mandatory if emails also need to be sent) 4. Setup Alert parameters 5. Setup “Batch groups” 6. Since the user is feeding the data in the SO form, it is upto him to select the Invoice Address data from the list of Invoice Addresses for the current customer in SO. And based on this selection,i generate a report. I hope you are clear now. I am not creating a new Address field here. But bringing a look up of EXISTING invoice Address. FYI.. I am using *Ax2009*. Technically speaking ,My question is should I use *SysTableLookup* method to get this requriement done?? Is it possible to refer to more than one datasource using SysTableLookup method?? or any other option ??? I tried this way!!! I dumped the related data like Address,zipcode,city for all the invoice address against the current customer to a temporary table and then brought it as a lookup for the new field. Hi, We are facing a strange issue in Workflow. When we open *workflow history form(Basic-Inquiries)*, dynamics Ax is getting restarted. I compiled , restored the form .. but still no use. Also I cleared all the data from the tables which are referred by that form. When this is done, everything is going fine. Then we raise a request from Purchase Requisition form and submit the same . Now Dynamics is getting restarted when we traverse Purchase Requisition form-Actions-View History or Basic-Inquiries. Any idea why this happens?? Regards, Anitha.

Giriac, Try this. In the *Active* method of the datasource, u can get the value of the current record. If your requirement is fetching the value for the selected record, this will work. Hi, Check in Excel sheet for *ItemId* column. The column should be in *Text format*. I guess it should be in General format in your case. Right Click the cell , Select Format Cells and assign *Text* to the cell. Or try this simple case, copy all the Item Ids and paste it in a *notepad* . Copy the same from notepad and *paste* it again in ItemId cells. If you check the format of those cells, you will find them in Text Format.Try importing the Excel now. Hope this helps!!! I have a form that displays a grid of work orders. On grid there is

fields on my grid. I would also like to add a new filter called order
id, which is also a field on grid, in same table as responsible

I have copied the methods for these tables but cannot get the filter
to work. The query is pulling all order ID correctly but when I
select a record in the filter query I do not go to that record.
I put the methods under my form filter control, as overrides. This is
how other were set.
When I add your code to the datasource I get the following error:
Argument 'callingControl' is incompatible with the required type.
This in happening on line 3.
I have worked within Ax for 3 years but new to the development side,

Hi, It is not necessary you should use the tutorial form. When you do WorkFlow setup configuration wizard , set up batch process for the same. Batch will take care of job processing. hi.. changing the label name in Sysdimension will be reflected in Basic-Dimensions form. If you want to change the label in other forms, you need to change it in their respective EDTs. For example,assume you want to change the Dimension labels of the form Chart of Accounts. Go to AOT-DataDictionary-Tables-LedgerTable-Fields-Dimension. Check the EDT of the field. It refers to the EDT *Dimension*. Now traverse AOT-DataDictionary-EDT-Dimension. In the Array elemets node, u can change the label name . You can repeat the same for other forms. Hi, Any idea about this logic - listing Ledger/Customer/Vendor accounts in LedgerJournalTrans table on selecting OffsetCompany . Say if you are selecting OffsetCompany as “A” and OffsetAccountType as “Ledger” , the field OffsetAccount will list the ledger accounts from company A. This filter works in Table Level also. I want to know the *table level logic *. I tried defining the relation in my table similar to the one defined for OffsetAccounts in LedgerJournalTrans. But it didn’t work. Hi.. refresh() will not reread the record from the database. It basically just refreshes the screen with whatever is stored in the form cache. refreshEx() will refresh the view of the records. reread() will only re-read the CURRENT record from the DB so you should not use it to refresh the form data if you have added/removed records. It's often used if you change some values in the current record in some code, and commit them to the database using .update() on the table, instead of through the form datasource. In this case .reread() will make those changes appear on the form. research() will rerun the existing form query against the datasource, therefore updating the list with new/removed records as well as updating existing ones. This will honour any existing filters and sorting on the form. executeQuery() is another useful one. It should be used if you have modified the query in your code and need to refresh the form. It's like .research() except it takes query changes into account. Hope your queries have been answered. I am not sure about the combination of using table.reread followed by datasource.refresh. If you have any other thoughts, kindly share it across. Hi , I assume you are doing *Excel import*. To import the data in Empl Table *(without address information)* ,it is enough if you use *EmplTable *and *DirpartyTable*.Kindly check the attachment. To import with Address, include DirpartyAddressRelationship and address Tables. Hope this would have given you some idea about EmplTable import.
