I can't speak to 1969 Chevelles, My basket case 66 came with a 66 Malibu
front fender that had an antenna hole (which looked to be factory), and the
original passenger side SS396 quarter had an antenna hole in it.

Steve,

After closer inspection of your "new" Chevelle, I noticed the radio
antenna is located on the rear fender where as the antenna on my 69 is
located on the passenger side front fender. My Chevelle is all orginial
and I was wondering if anybody knows if the rear mounted antenna was
owner installed or if the rear mounting was a dealer option.

Do you remember where yours was mounted way back then?

"walk" out of the rear end on my car.  Luckily it didn't come all
the way out.  I assume, from what I've read, that I may have broken a "c"
clip.  Am I assuming right, and how difficult is this to repair?  I
have a 67 big block Malibu, 350T with a 10 bolt rear end.  I am
mechanically inclined but no Master mechanic and I'll be doing this in my
drive way.  Thanks in advance for any

Re: [Chevelle-list] epoxy for body panels?

2006-03-14 Thread Bill Vander Werf
Title: Message

Repairing with any old 2 part epoxy isn't what I
would recommend but there are products out there that work very
well.

3M makes a product, # 8115 panel bonding adhesive,
to be used with an applicator gun # 8191. The product is a two part adhesive
that is mixed when the two parts combine in the nozzle of the applicator gun.
I'm not sure the adhesive is an epoxy but it may very well be.

3M recommends plug welding the ends of the panel in
the door jamb and at the rear. Their theory is that while the adhesive holds
fast in a direct pull it can shear in a collision so they still
recommend welding those areas.

The product works very well in the field without
any comebacks I am aware of since I've been selling the product.

Some of the real benefits of using the product in
the collision repair industry are the elimination of warpage from heat, the
elimination of rust inside the panels caused by burnback of the coatings,
they no longer have to worry about setting interiors on fire while welding and
they don't have any spattering on glass.

  I
just got an email suggesting that I try epoxy rather than welding to hang my
new quarter panel. The advantage is supposed to be that there is no chance of
heat distortion (warpage) that you can get from welding, also you don’t need
special equipment to do it. Supposedly this is common practice in body shops
  these days. Has anybody tried
this?

This list has the best mix of knowledgeable folks coupled with

Pull the plugs & crank it over, any water in the cylinders will be

To unsubscribe from this service you must first

purchase a
Craft-O-Matic Adjustable Subscription Cancellation
Unit. The unit can be
obtained from most hardware stores and dental clinics.
Be sure to obtain the proper permits to operate the
unit from the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Food and Drug
Administration in
Washington D.C. USA.
Be sure to carefully unpack the kit and place each
component in its
accompanying mesh safety bag.
Mount the Pershing DF4 mesinator on top of the
perforated Gerring Mach
77 refibulator and attach them using the
eight-millimeter torque fork.
Be sure that the refibulator is mounted at a 66 degree
angle and
properly dispersed so that it is flush with the curved
section of the
Pyrex thistle tube.
Place the four sections of the triangular separation
gear into the
posture cylinder and lock them into place using the
band aid adhesive strip.
Insert the wiggling pin into the wobbling hole, making
sure that it
seated correctly.
Place the D cell battery and the eleven 9 volt
batteries in the power
chamber.
The device should be calibrated before operation using
the optional
digital corkscrew accessory pack prior to operation.
Insert the digital corkscrew through the electronic
combustion service

tungsten igniter
control module and quickly turn the inverter drive to
28.6 degrees.
Turn the Craft-O-Matic Adjustable Subscription
Cancellation Unit upside
down and hit the bottom plate with a 48-ounce
ball-peen hammer while
shaking the unit vigorously.
Force open the door to the incineration valve
compartment and set the
pressure gauge to 719 psi.
Close the door and seal it shut with duct tape.
The unit should now be properly calibrated and ready
to use.
Before activating the Craft-O-Matic Adjustable
Subscription
Cancellation Unit, you must first elevate it to a
height of 229 feet
above sea level to insure that the unit receives the
proper oxygen level
and barometric pressure.
Point the aerial to 17 degrees north by northeast to
within the
parameters of the Telstar GS-2 weather satellite and
apply pressure to
the wing shaft on the southern most section of the
modular accelerator.
Using the special ratchet adapter supplied with the
unit, rotate the
heater core to the "on" position. The "on" position

has been obtained
when the green light begins to flash, signifying that
the red light is
about to go off.
Once the red light is off, flip the toggle switch
labeled "ON/OFF" to
the "ON" position and count to 47 before logging on to
the system.
Logon using your username and password and wait for
the prompt.
Once prompted you must check the box with the
appropriate action you
wish to take and then press the pressure release
button and turn off the
compressor while turning the hand crank at 231 meters
per minute.
Next, press control, alt, delete, caps lock, shift,

Re: [Chevelle-list] Package Tray - 69 Chevelle

2006-02-26 Thread Bill Vander Werf
Mike, what you say is true. Although I agree with John that doing something
to stop water from leaking in is way better than doing nothing at all, using
silicone is not the answer. As well as the difficulty in removing the
product when a true repair is done, the caustic effect of silicone on steel
is reason enough not to use it. There are a number of sealers out there that
will provide a temporary leak stop without the problems silicone can cause.

John, I hope I didn't offend you with my " no silicone comments. That was
not my intention. Silicone is a bodyman's nightmare. In any form, spray or
adhesive in a tube in can cause major trouble to the guy that is doing a
repaint. It gets into the pores of the metal and defys you to get it out.
Then after painting it will cause flaws and lifting. The guy that does my
paint work has a fit if he sees silicone in my building. I would suggest
using Urethane winshield sealant instead to stop your leaks around the
seal. And only new metal should be used to repair the rust holes.

p.s. I know that my front & rear glass used to leak, and now they don't,
and

it only took a thin bead of silicone to seal it, so you might have a hard
time convincing me that I've made anything any worse. The next time those
pieces of glass come out will hopefully be the next time that the car
gets

painted, and it will be stripped down for that. I'm not worried about
getting the silicone off. The paint under it will be coming off too.

Guys (and Gals)
the pervious owner(s) of my Malibu did the sillycone "quick fix", i still
have leaks. lucky for me i have a garage, John on the other hand does not. i
can understand him wanting to stop the leak. i have clear silicon all over
the place, and i know when i remove the windshield molding i will find a
nightmare under it. i'm wondering if the moulding will be worth salvaging. i
will have to remove both the front and rear glass. i was just wondering if
it would be safer and easyer to have a windshield "expert" remove the glass
so i can repair the metal channel.
i still dont get arround as much as i'd like since i broke my back. i do
like to do most of the work myself, but sometimes its best to know whats
beyond my physical limitations.

any volunteers? i'd buy the beer :)

Need some advice on brakes.Second time out last April, my brakes
failed on my '69 Chevelle. Had a repair shop that I have delt with in the
past and was very satisified with their work look at and make the repairs.
The master cylinder was replaced as well as the rear shoes and rebuild the
rear wheel cylinders . Checked the front discs and they were fine . Brakes
were working fine until yesterday...brake pedal went to the floor and the
brake lite came on . Good thing this happened in my driveway and not on the
road like the last time the brakes failed . Put the car back in the garage
and checked the brake fluid level and it fine, about a 1/4" fom the top. The
brake job has less then 1000 miles on it. Any ideas went could have happened
? Could it be the vacuum booster?

You probably won't find it.  You may find an interior
broadcast sheet that looks like the one in this thread-

http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118873
Read through this thread about 68 build sheets-

http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112363
A POP (Protect-O-Plate) was a credit card like plate attached to the
warranty book.  The dealer would use this plate to stamp the repair
orders for warranty purposes.  Some info is put on the plate, but
it's not everything that was on the car.  If it was built in Canada,
you can get documentation from GM Canada that will list all the options
your car came with, the dealer it was shipped to, and other stuff.
For examples, check out Dale's site-

www.chevellestuff.com.  Click on 68 Chevelle & a drop down
menu will direct you to the pics.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Off-topic messages (was RE: FW: eSecurity
Advisory:Blackmal Email Worm)

If I may make a general comment, not exactly directed towards Matthew,
but

towards his general sentiment:

Please understand that this list MAY NOT be the only list that some
people

belong to. Personally, I subscribe to 6 discussion lists, 4 of which are
professional in nature, 2 are recreational. Three of the discussion
lists I

read are extremely high volume - upwards of 40 messages a day on each. I
hit the "Delete" key rather frequently.

One thing that is important to understand is WHY people subscribe to the
list. Naturally, people subscribe to this list because they are
interested
in Chevelles. If the conversation turns toward a different topic, the
list

loses its worth. Even worse, it could chase away worthwhile contributors
who would rather unsubscribe than have to constantly delete off-topic
messages. In other words - when the "signal to noise ratio" has gotten
to

the point where the noise is greater than the signal, people unsubscribe
which in-turn causes a further downward spiral in message quality causing
more people to unsubscribe and so on.

The main thing this list seems to be missing is a spirit of netiquette
that
used to be the norm back when only geeks had computers. As a by-product
of
making computers cheaper & easier to use, a lot of people are now online
and
participating in discussion lists such as this one without having gained
any
knowledge of "netiquette". That's fine. We all have to start somewhere.
But

it is important that some "rules of order" be established for the greater
good of all.

If I may suggest some netiquette, here's a quick list of guidelines that
I
think will make any discussion list operate more smoothly. This is all
just

slapped together in no particular order.

(Pay close attention to #5)

1. If your post is relevant only to one member of the list, please
contact
that person using personal e-mail. However, some messages, though
personal

in nature, may also be relevant or useful for multiple
members of the list. In such a case, it is definitely good to post to the
whole list.

2. Use the subject line to announce your topic effectively. We all get a
lot
of e-mail and a descriptive subject line will help to identify a message
and

will help other members decide whether the message is relevant or of
interest to them.

3. Use only one topic per message. If your message spans multiple topics,
it'd be best to split that message up into multiple posts. That way it is
more helpful for people to follow and may also get you better responses
(because some people might not open your message if the subject doesn't
look

interesting)

4. Be thoughtful when posting information from other lists. Many of us
are

on several lists. Instead of a simple forward of the posting, add a note
about why you found the other message informative and relevant.

5. If the message is off-topic, but you think people might be interested,
post it. But make sure you mark it as "Off-Topic" or "OT" in the subject
line. Please try to remember though, that too many off-topic posts are
going to drive up the signal-to-noise ratio. Only make off-topic posts
if
you think it will be welcomed by the other members, won't cause a
flame-war,

and really is interesting.

6. Do not forward or share others' e-mail without permission. Believe it
or

not, email messages are covered under Copyright law. So, even beyond the
lack of good taste, reposting someone's email without
permission is a violation of copyright.

7. Restate (or, "quote") some of the message you're replying to so your
reply makes sense. I cannot state this enough. Reading a reply that does
not
quote the original message is like walking into a conversation at the

i would think "off topic" in the subject should be sufficient, i scan topics
and delete what is not important to me, often i miss out by doing so, but
thats my loss.
there are 10 or so people who post often on this list and i appreciate all
the knowlege they are willing to share. there are also some things computer
related that can affect us all due to the medium we use for this list.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Off-topic messages (was RE: FW: eSecurity
Advisory:Blackmal Email Worm)

If I may make a general comment, not exactly directed towards Matthew, but
towards his general sentiment:

Please understand that this list MAY NOT be the only list that some people
belong to. Personally, I subscribe to 6 discussion lists, 4 of which are
professional in nature, 2 are recreational. Three of the discussion lists
I

read are extremely high volume - upwards of 40 messages a day on each. I
hit the "Delete" key rather frequently.

One thing that is important to understand is WHY people subscribe to the
list. Naturally, people subscribe to this list because they are interested
in Chevelles. If the conversation turns toward a different topic, the
list

loses its worth. Even worse, it could chase away worthwhile contributors
who would rather unsubscribe than have to constantly delete off-topic
messages. In other words - when the "signal to noise ratio" has gotten to
the point where the noise is greater than the signal, people unsubscribe
which in-turn causes a further downward spiral in message quality causing
more people to unsubscribe and so on.

If I may suggest some netiquette, here's a quick list of guidelines that I
think will make any discussion list operate more smoothly. This is all
just

slapped together in no particular order.

(Pay close attention to #5)

1. If your post is relevant only to one member of the list, please contact
that person using personal e-mail. However, some messages, though personal
in nature, may also be relevant or useful for multiple
members of the list.

Many of us are
on several lists.

Only make off-topic posts if
you think it will be welcomed by the other members, won't cause a
flame-war,

and really is interesting.

Reading a reply that does
not
quote the original message is like walking into a conversation at the
punch

line of a good joke. It just doesn't make sense. Therefore, make sure you
quote the person you're replying to. Helpful info at:
http://email.about.com/cs/netiquettetips/qt/et090402.htm

8. When responding to another's message, don't quote the entire message.
Delete any excess text that isn't relevant to your response.

9. Avoid "Me, too&quo

obtained from most hardware stores and dental clinics.
Be sure to obtain the proper permits to operate the
unit from the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Food and Drug
Administration in
Washington D.C. USA.
Be sure to carefully unpack the kit and place each
component in its
accompanying mesh safety bag.
Mount the Pershing DF4 mesinator on top of the
perforated Gerring Mach
77 refibulator and attach them using the
eight-millimeter torque fork.
Be sure that the refibulator is mounted at a 66 degree

properly dispersed so that it is flush with the curved
section of the
Pyrex thistle tube.
Place the four sections of the triangular separation
gear into the

band aid adhesive strip.
Insert the wiggling pin into the wobbling hole, making
sure that it
seated correctly.
Place the D cell battery and the eleven 9 volt

The device should be calibrated before operation using
the optional

Insert the digital corkscrew through the electronic

Close the door and seal it shut with duct tape.
The unit should now be properly calibrated and ready

Before activating the Craft-O-Matic Adjustable

height of 229 feet
above sea level to insure that the unit receives the
proper oxygen level
and barometric pressure.

Next, press control, alt, delete, caps lock, shift,

The two links are to a discussion on TC about the vinyl tops
seams. We never could ascertain for certain that the seams lined up
with the trunk, but it looks like that was true on a lot of the 68
cars. I've pulled my rear window to replace it, & I was going to
have the upholstery shop realign the top seams along the bottom
section while it was out. If you would like some pics of the cars

send them to you. The ones on the TC links have turned into red X's.

Exactly!!  I hope we all will learn from others' mistakes.  I'm
in the car repair business.  I've figured out that the times you
don't open the box immediately are always when the wrong parts are in the
box.  :-((   But how can you get $5K worth of Chevelle

I guess it was my fault for not

Anyway, enough babbling from me. I'm very glad to have found this list.

Last, can someone tell me something about my car from this VIN?

Welcome to the list. A huge amount of information about Chevelles will be
found at www.chevelles.com/forums and www.chevellestuff.com Use the
search function & you will find most of what you're looking for, and when
you don't, post a question in the appropriate place. We help each other on
this list too, but it's not as large as Team Chevelle. The cowl tag for
your car, located on the driver's side under the hood will give a little
more information than the VIN which is what you posted. All I know for
sure from the VIN is it's a 1971 V-8 2 door sport coupe that was built in
Baltimore.

I've seen this discussion numerous times
before, but now I have to ask...  Why does a 307 use unique frame
  mounts?

Externally, a small block Chevy is a small
block Chevy.  I've swapped numerous engines over the years, the only time
I've had to change the frame mounts was when I put a V8 where a 6 was.
With that said, my El is the only A-body I've owned, most of my cars
prior to this were either Camaros or Corvettes and I never had to change frame
mounts (except for the 6 to V8 swap).  Is the frame mount an A-body only
  issue?

  Just curious, thanks.

I know that I can use the small block mounts but I just have a gut feeling
that I need to use the big block mounts.  If anybody has the big
block mounts can you measure them and let me know how tall they are?
Thank you and hope all of you had a happy holiday week.

Was your car originally a 307 car?  If so, then yes, you will need
to change the mounts.  307 mounts are slightly taller than 350/402/454
mounts.

I thought you had been here long enough to know how to do that, but
anyway--
To unsubscribe from this service you must first
purchase a
Craft-O-Matic Adjustable Subscription Cancellation
Unit. The unit can be
obtained from most hardware stores and dental clinics.
Be sure to obtain the proper permits to operate the
unit from the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Food and Drug
Administration in
Washington D.C. USA.
Be sure to carefully unpack the kit and place each
component in its
accompanying mesh safety bag.
Mount the Pershing DF4 mesinator on top of the
perforated Gerring Mach
77 refibulator and attach them using the
eight-millimeter torque fork.
Be sure that the refibulator is mounted at a 66 degree
angle and
properly dispersed so that it is flush with the curved
section of the
Pyrex thistle tube.
Place the four sections of the triangular separation
gear into the
posture cylinder and lock them into place using the
band aid adhesive strip.
Insert the wiggling pin into the wobbling hole, making
sure that it
seated correctly.
Place the D cell battery and the eleven 9 volt
batteries in the power
chamber.
The device should be calibrated before operation using
the optional
digital corkscrew accessory pack prior to operation.
Insert the digital corkscrew through the electronic
combustion service
chamber using caution not to touch the reinforced
tungsten igniter
control module and quickly turn the inverter drive to
28.6 degrees.
Turn the Craft-O-Matic Adjustable Subscription
Cancellation Unit upside
down and hit the bottom plate with a 48-ounce
ball-peen hammer while
shaking the unit vigorously.
Force open the door to the incineration valve
compartment and set the
pressure gauge to 719 psi.
Close the door and seal it shut with duct tape.
The unit should now be properly calibrated and ready
to use.
Before activating the Craft-O-Matic Adjustable
Subscription
Cancellation Unit, you must first elevate it to a
height of 229 feet
above sea level to insure that the unit receives the
proper oxygen level
and barometric pressure.
Point the aerial to 17 degrees north by northeast to
within the
parameters of the Telstar GS-2 weather satellite and
apply pressure to
the wing shaft on the southern most section of the
modular accelerator.
Using the special ratchet adapter supplied with the
unit, rotate the
heater core to the "on" position. The "on" position

has been obtained
when the green light begins to flash, signifying that
the red light is
about to go off.
Once the red light is off, flip the toggle switch
labeled "ON/OFF" to
the "ON" position and count to 47 before logging on to
the system.
Logon using your username and password and wait for
the prompt.
Once prompted you must check the box with the
appropriate action you
wish to take and then press the pressure release
button and turn off the
compressor while turning the hand crank at 231 meters
per minute.
Next, press control, alt, delete, caps lock, shift,
number lock, escape
and tab simultaneously.
Press enter. You will have one second to complete the
procedure.
If you fail to respond in the time limit allowed,
simply purchase a new
Craft-O-Matic Adjustable Subscription Cancellation
Unit and start from
the beginning.
Please remember that this is the only way we will
accept for you to
unsubscribe from this service.
We have made every attempt to simplify the procedure
for your
convenience. Failure to comply with the unsubscribe
policy will result
in immediate termination of your subscription so
please follow the above
directions closely

2005-11-28 Thread Bill Vander Werf

For drag racing, 4.56.

For the street, 3.73 or higher

I have 3.89 gears in my 71 with a 28" tall rear tire. With a little torque
converter slip thrown in for good measure my tach reads real close to 3200
RPM @ 60 MPH. For anything other than driving to the local get together at
the McDonalds the gears are way too low.

Chevy used to put 4.11 gears together with small blocks and powerglides. The
cars would jump but couldn't get any gas mileage. GM did that because 1st
gear in a Powerglide is not much lower than 2nd in a Turbo 350 but high gear
is 1:1 just like the Turbo. To make the cars quick from a stop they used low
rear end gears and let the poor things rev in high gear. You have to
remember, gas was only around 30 cents a gallon back when they built those
combinations and not many people really cared about gas mileage.

My opinion, for what it's worth, is go 3.73s or higher.

OK folks,

I have the opportunity to use 3.73 or 4.56 gears in
the 10-bolt posi I'm going to put in the '66. The car
has a 300+/-HP 327 and PG. Anyone have any thoughts
or previous experience with the 4.56 gears and the
PG/small block setup?

I drive the car to local shows, and want to be able to
take it to Cecil on occasion. A relative told me to
do the 4.56s and nothing less, thus my indecision.

Thanks,

Jim

I think I remember from my drag racing days that Mark Williams & probably
some others had a steel replacement cap for 12 bolts that made the rear
stronger. I don't think that you had to do any machining to use these
caps. If you aren't using it for a racing application, I would think that
you could pull some caps off of another housing & use them without any
problem. The front of the bearings are going to seat in the front caps, so
any alignment would be done at that point. The rear caps are there to hold
the bearing in place, and as long as they will tighten down the bearing
race, that should work fine. Just my 2 cents.

I had gotten a 7 quart oil pan when I had my 454 redone, but it wont
fit into my 72 chevelle. so I picked up a Miloden pan from Jeg's and today I
tried to put a "Miloden" stock replacement and a stock BBC pick-up . through
my  inexperience I tried the pan and it didnt fit flush up to the bottom
of the block .I think  it was resting against the oil
pick-up. I was able to make all the pan bolts starting in the middle and
working my way out to the edges , everything seems snug? question is how far
should the oil pick-up bee from the bottom of the pan ? (it probaly shouldnt
be against it like I suspect). I would  love to hear what you guys think

Again, I hate to interject here but the Fed
raises rates to check inflation because BUSINESS
wants them to, not because government wants them to.
99.% of the people in the world do not know that
inflation is TAX. It is not discussed by politicians
and media because a) it is over the head of most
media people and b) it is over the head of nearly
all attorneys and our politicians are all attorneys.

Inflation is the systematic devaluation of a
currency. When you see the "national debt" number,
what is not discussed is to whom that debt is owed.
The fact is, the debt is owed almost entirely to
American citizens (and their pension plans, IRAs and
401ks) in the form of US Treasury bills and notes
and bonds (among which is the ubiquitous Savings
Bond). Inflation benefits "net debtors", that is,
people or countries or companies who owe more money
in debt than is owed to them by others. The
government is the biggest "net debtor" by a gigantic
margin. Thus, inflation HELPS the government because
it allows them to pay YOU back with dollars that
have been "devalued"...that is, they are worth less
than the dollars you loaned them when you bought the
bond, T-bill, T-note, etc.

All you Vietnam era vets and citizens might
remember that at the end of the Vietnam War the
national debt was staggering. In fact, the US could
not pay it off so the government, then under Richard
Nixon, devalued the currency 25% in one day. And
this was on top of inflation rates that ranged from
12% to 20% over the preceeding three or four years.
Folks, this is "inflation" gone mad. Some of you
might also remember stories about the inflation rate
in Brazil being 100% per month and things like that.
That, too, is just the government in power
"devaluing" the currency. It happens all over the
world, all the time.

If you really want to see true change in
this country, demand that your schools teach people
two things: The "time value of money" (also called
"discounted cash flow" and how to figure it out) and
the difference between "progressive" and
"regressive" tax systems. If ordinary people

ordinary people understood these two things, every politician in office
would be thrown out on his or her fat behind - Repulicans and Democrats
alike. In fact, I'll go farther than that - if people understood the concept
of regressive taxes alone every politician in office would be arrested and
charged with sedition. The old saying "the rich get richer and the poor get
poorer" exists not because rich people screw poor people but because the
government screws poor people. They do this because they can - you see, the
rich people "get it". They understand how the tax system works and how to
circumvent the system. Poor people don't have the knowledge so they get
screwed. It isn't a big conspiracy, it is your elected representatives
creating a tax system that enables them to tax the people with the smallest
voice - and that is you and me.

Finally, permit me to say that, I can teach
ANYONE who graduated from high school these two ideas and the fact that our
high schools do NOT teach these things is, IMHO, nearly criminal. I was

I think the big picture is that too many of us our looking at our own
short term benefit, just as GM and Ford did in the 80s when they let the
Japanese take over the auto market. They went for short term quarter to
quarter gains profits so everyone in upper management could earn fat
bonuses and and stock would go up. Now we have in essense been "taken
over" and more ownership of what used to be OUR country is gradually
slipping completely out of American hands. Long term, this COULD
prove to be a significant problem for our grandchildren. We can't be sure,
but I do seem to recall that the brutality of every country we now buy
from during past wars. Our "prisoner abuses" are nothing compared to what
was done to our soldiers who were captured were subjected to in World War
II and since. And... Now that our funds are gradually funneling into the
middle east for gas and oil we know what their attitude toward personal
liberties are. All that money goes toward buying Ame! rica ... good for us
today. For our children? for our grandchildren?
I am a bit obstinate, but I carefully look at what I'm buying and try
to stay as American as possible. From Cars to Wal Mart, I must admit it is
  getting harder and harder.
