Re: [Cooker] Font Problem
It used to work before but lately it has stoped workin. I have tried to run fontdrake again to get fonts from windows (or browse to the fonts if I copy them from windows) but it just craches. Btw, if I search throug fontdrake it looks like it uses xftcache ? What is that and what package does it come from? Harddrake craches when I run it. also scannerdrake craches. yes cdrecord -scanbus list the scanner. I have a ScanJet IIcx C2500A 3332 SCSI scanner. It worked just fine with Mandrake 8.2 if I do a sane-findscaner it says: found SCSI processor "HP C2500A 3332" at /dev/scanner found SCSI processor "HP C2500A 3332" at /dev/sg0 but if I try to run xsane or scanimage -L it says that it can't find any scanner. if I run scannerdrake it says that HP C2500A not found in the database. If I instead compile all scsi things as modules it works just after I have loaded the modules so I have to load and unload the modules all the time. Is this something due to devfs ? I have just moved from kde3 (from contribs) to kde-3.0.1. I have one problem though. It seems like kde changes my keyboad layout. Re: [Cooker] Re: [CHRPM] kernel-2.2.15-3mdk
I think that the ting is that you have to make your own initrd. the initrd normaly includes things that need to be loaded before the system is starded. scsi-host drivers for examle. SO what you have to do is to make a new one mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.2.15-3mdk.img 2.2.15-3mdk then add a entry for it in lilo.conf and run /sbin/lilo /M On Tue, 9 May 2000, Michael Holt wrote: > Chmouel Boudjnah wrote: > > > > --=-=-= > > Name: kernel Distribution: Linux-Mandrake > > Version : 2.2.15Vendor: MandrakeSoft > > Release : 3mdk Build Date: Tue May 09 11:28:58 2000 > > Install date: (not installed) Build Host: kenobi.mandrakesoft.com > > Group : System/Kernel and hardwareSource RPM: (none) > > Size: 16964075 > > Packager: Chmouel Boudjnah <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Summary : The Linux kernel (the core of the Linux operating system). > > Description : > > The kernel package contains the Linux kernel (vmlinuz), the core of your > > Linux Mandrake operating system. Re: [Cooker] Netscape in Mandrake 7.1b
> Go to a Mandrake crypto mirror (you can find a list on the Mandrake site > and grab the Mandrake RPMS (common and communicator) The netscape-128 rpms seems to be much older than the natscape-navigator and netscape-communicator rpms so thats why i like to use fortify. Is the netscape-128 files just netscape that ar fortifyed or is they shipped from netscape whit 128 bits encryption? I solved the problem by doing this rpm -i netscape-XXX.src.rpm then unpacked the navigator and communicator source in /usr/src/RPM/SOURCES unpacked the netscape-x.nif file an run fortify on the netscape file i got and packed it again. Then i packed the navigator-xxx.tar.bz2 file and the communicator-xxx.tar.bx2 file again and run rpm -bb netscape.spec /M
