Why is it grouped into categories? I suppose if you want to work with e.g. all the Java FX plugins at once, but aren't things like that usually handled automatically when you ask for a project of that type? And it doesn't look like you can choose to view only those plugins in any case, only mass activate/deactivate. But more importantly, if you click "Show Details" (which is always the first thing I do), you get the actual plugin list, but it's not sorted. Why do we have to click on the Name column to sort it? filing issues
The NetBeans home page http://netbeans.apache.org/ has a link "filing issues" in the Participate box: https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/NETBEANS/summary that winds up on a JIRA page which (unless you have an account and are logged in) shows the error "This gadget cannot be displayed on your dashboard...". This seems unhelpful for users who want to file issues. Should it maybe point here instead? http://netbeans.apache.org/participate/report-issue.html And shouldn't that page mention that you need a login? Installed on Debian 10 "Buster" with KDE Plasma using both new and existing userdir; nbjavac installed correctly with empty userdir. Overrode both default installation directory and location of JVM during installation. Opened Java project and verified basic functionality. Did not build from source. An icon was not added to the KDE menu, although one was added to the desktop. -- Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) "After the vintage season came the aftermath -- and Cenbe." - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists

Totally agree. If you're not on an LTS (or 8), you should be on the latest. -- Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) "After the vintage season came the aftermath -- and Cenbe." - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists

Verified no jar files in source except for files mentioned. Built from source using JDK 11.0.4 with ant arguments -Dpermit.jdk9.builds=true and -Dcluster.config=full. Ran with "ant tryme" as well as nbbuild/netbeans/bin/netbeans. Also ran convenience binary. For both: opened a Java project, nb-javac installed correctly. Ran with clean and imported userdirs. -- Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) "After the vintage season came the aftermath -- and Cenbe." - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists

Interestingly, I checked my anti-aliasing settings in KDE, which were set to "Vendor Default". When I changed anti-aliasing to "Enabled", hinting style "Medium", then *removed* the -J-D, I got nice-looking fonts in NetBeans. Seems counter-intuitive, but hey. -- Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) "After the vintage season came the aftermath -- and Cenbe." - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists

Properly added a NetBeans icon to the KDE menu when run on Debian "Buster". However, I find that I still need to add -J-Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on to make fonts look good in NetBeans (even under JDK 13). What would be the correct incantation to start the installer that way as well? -- Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) "After the vintage season came the aftermath -- and Cenbe." - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@netbeans.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@netbeans.apache.org For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists
