At least he is a lot more comfortable now. I think it was a good call to go. The good color in his gums sounds promising. I hope you're internist will be able to give you some real answers. Bottom line is that we don't know much more than that he had fluid build up that was making it hard to breath, we don't know why and the xrays weren't definitive enough for the doctor on duty to be able to tell anything. They wanted to send in the fluid to be analyzed, but the vet warned me that they might not be able to tell anything from it. Since that would have been an extra $200 bucks, I told them to hold on to it and let me talk to his regular Internist about it in the morning. We're over $1400 as it is and no closer to helping him get well then before we started. Extremely big sigh.Nina
Ah s**t Tad - Leo
Tad, Your heart barely has time to heal before you end up saying goodbye to yet another of your sweet babies. I don't remember hearing about Leo, could you tell us something more about him? You are such a blessings to your babies. Knowing of people like you and Marie, folks that understand these sweet angels, and give them the type of life they deserve, is an inspiration to us all. Little Leo enjoyed his life as much as he did because he had a human that cares enough to pay attention and communicate with his felines on their own terms. You're as close to cat in human form as they come and I'm sure your babies appreciate it. Bless it Tad, I'm so sorry. It helps just a little to know he enjoyed life as much as he could right up to the end. It never gets easier, no matter how many times we go through it. You are so generous to write to me about my troubles with Spencer while you're suffering with your own stress and grief. I'll ask my vet about the pill, I'm guessing it must be some sort of diuretic. Blessings to you and Marie. You guys go through so much, what would the kitties do without you? Thank you once again for all you do for so many. What was/is Cody on? My vet prescribed Prozac for Peepers and, out of desperation, I used it on a short-term basis with two other cats who had problems in a multi-cat environment. And a friend has used the Elavil in a salve in the ear. I don't know anyone who goes to psych meds as a first choice but in the rare instances when it was a last resort it really has made all the difference. Kerry thank you so much for your kind words. The pics of Maizee are just a handful of the pics I have of that beauty. She grew up in front of the camera, she is probably still seeing flashing lights. :) Especially when I found out she had felv.I swear I took pictures of her everyday.I even started a sort of journal to note all the sweet and special things that she did or would do that made me smile( I am crying now just thinking of some of those sweet things) I think she will always live in our (boyfriend and I) hearts,he has a silly voice that he does that he always said it was her talking to him. Boy she sure swore alot, but I guess I would too after all that she went through in her short life. He still makes me laugh when he starts that talking and he does this pouty look when he does it,just cracks me up. :) He really loved her very much too.She was an amazing beautiful girl, and I believe she led me to my 3 beautiful boys. :) Take care Kerry and hugs to you. Re: Bacardi
I've been feeding Bacardi Evolve . It's all natural and our practice promotes it all the time. I also started Pet Tinic as soon as the snap test started coming up positive. We've already gone through URI and conjuctivitis. As for tazzy, the first grew so rapidly that by the time we biopsied it it couldnt have been amputated. The day a had the surgery set for we found a spot on his lung and in his abdomen on an x-ray. Out Felu vaccines go as low as we can get them in the left leg, but Tazzy already had a vaccine when they got him from a pet store when i was 8 years old. I jusst hope everything turns out ok. Bacardi seems happy and loves to come to work with me in morning. He hops in my purse all the time at least i dont have to fight with him to go to the vet. i'm actually looking for a new vet other than the one i work at, since they seem not to care as much as they should with one of their employee's pets. Next keep him a stress free as you can, stress triggers the symptomatic form of the virus, they can go a long time with no symptoms if kept stress free and healthy. Here is the treatment page: http://www.felineleukemia.org/treatmnt.html I'm concerned that your cat died of VAS, as you being a vet tech should have caught it early enough for full amputation of the rear limb to remove the cancer. Please reassure me that your cats are NOT getting vaccinated in the neck scruff or between the shoulders. Vaccines should always be given as low as possible on the legs, in case a sarcoma results, the limb can be removed. If your vet is vaccinating incorrectly, I'd suggest finding a different vet, one that is up to date on the current vaccine protocol standards. http://www.avma.org/vafstf/sitercmnd.asp http://www.vmth.ucdavis.edu/vmth/clientinfo/info/genmed/vaccinproto.html http://www.tahealth.net/vas.html Phaewryn Please adopt a cat from Little Cheetah Cat Rescue!!! http://ucat.us/adopt.html Low cost Spay&Neuter services in VT, and Emergency Financial Assistance for cat owners: http://ucat.us/VermontLowCost.html Special Needs Cat Resources: http://ucat.us/domesticcatlinks.html The Sofa Poem: http://ucat.us/sofapoem.html Please shop online through i-give and support the Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance Program: http://www.igive.com/FVEAP Shop at GREAT stores, like Drs. Re: Leo
Hi Phaewryn Munch and Jett along with CJ, and 2 others that tested neg but that were so highly exposed that they would have been put down anyway, that have been here for 18 months or more are still perfectly healthy.. I have thought of having them retested and see if they can be in that group that was able to throw off the bug... But until a few weeks ago I would have included Leo in that well group.. He was here for 18 months.. Leo had lost a lot of weight when he got sick but I was supprised that he had weighed 1/2 pound less when I 1st got him... As I remember the 4 of the 6 AW cats that I lost in the 1st 6 months were also starving but Munch and Jett were at a good weight... Makes one wonder if its tied to what ever food they were forced to eat to survive on that starts a cancer growing... The new science is looking at genetically modifying the immune system so that it will attack the cancer cells... Maybe there is an answer there and maybe they will use FeLV+ cats for their lead tests which might be a good thing... Tad [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Tad, I'm so sorry to hear you lost Little Leo. When my friend Jessi lived with us, her 9 cats with good immune systems all had toxo and they all had diarrhea from it. I am not sure if they had any other symptoms, but they were negatives. He's doing about the same. I did get him to lick a bit of babyfood, that always makes me feel a little better. I've got a frantic call into my vet about Toxoplasmosis. I was doing some more research on it and while it's not that big a deal for kitties with good immune systems, cats with poor ones exhibit the same symptoms as Spencer is. Unfortunately, my vet was trying to save me some money (damn), and didn't run this test. I've found the treatment for it and I was hoping the on-call vet might think about the possibilities and prescribe me some meds, just in case. So far, no call back. I know I'm grasping at straws here, but I can't help thinking if we could figure out what's going on with him, it might be something curable. I hate when the clock is ticking. Has anyone had any experience with Toxo and immune compromised cats?Nina

He's lost a great deal of weight and his breathing is shallow and fast. He cries now when I pick him up and he's not getting around very well. His third eyelid is back up. I can't tell if he's in pain, but he's obviously in distress. It doesn't look good. He finished with his first 5 shots of feline interferon the night before last. I had taken him off Clav after 7 days, (now I'm wondering if that was a good idea), and he's going on, I think his 6th day of Dox). I'm afraid it may be a tumor, or some sort of cancer. He's reminding me of Simon when he was dying of kidney failure, but there was no indication of that when we had blood work done Friday before last. I called my vet's office, but of course it's a holiday and my vets aren't there. I could bring him in as an emergency, but I don't have a lot of faith in the vet on call, (nice guy, just not sure he'd be able to help). Actually, I don't have a lot of faith that anyone would be able to help him right now. He might be more comfortable with oxygen, or with a pain reliever. I don't know if it's worth the stress of bringing him into the vet.I just can't believe he's gone downhill so quickly. I've only had him for six months and he was in such bad shape when he got here. I did suspect fiv, but not felv. I figured if he had felv, he wouldn't have pulled through as well as he did after arriving. He just blossomed here! He turned into the best hugger and was so happy to have found someplace to call home and feel safe, and best of all he was thrilled to find a source of never ending food! I used to have to keep giving him a spoon of food at a time when I was getting everyone's dinner ready, or he'd go and eat everyone else's food as I put it down. I'm just in such shock. It wasn't more than 2 weeks ago that he was scaling counters at a single bound. He was such and incredible athlete, I've never seen anyone move as fast or leap as high as Spence. Thanks for letting me ramble. You guys know how this goes... Please send him healing, calming thoughts and prayers. I never stop hoping for recovery, but he doesn't look good. Thanks for always being there,Nina

Smokey went to the vet today to get bloodwork done & to revisit my concerns over his breathing. I'm not so concerned about the rate of breathing, but the effort it sometimes takes him to inhale & exhale. It's almost like a forceful expansion. About 9 days ago his Red Blood Count was 30, just at the edge of high for anemia. Today it was at 38, an +8 jump! And he gained another pound. He now weighs 8.4 pounds. Hoorah!!! However, we just don't know what to think of his breathing. The vet still thinks it may still be pneumonia & his system is just too weak to shake it or she thinks it may be lung worm now. She said it is hard to find lung worm in testing. The options that the vet gave us (& none I'm too thrilled about) are to do another series of chest x-rays & a trans trachial wash, both under sedation, to get a better feel for what is going on. Or Give him a diluted shot of ivermectin, usually for larger animals like horses & cows for the lung worm. Or start him on another regiment of Clavamox Liquid 2 x day (or a pill antibiotic if we could get him to eat the pill pockets-but he won't even try them) in addition to the Doxy he is already taking. Or a combination of all these ideas. I am suppose to give her an answer tomorrow. We just don't know what to do. I HATE putting him on another medication and taking him in there again because it gets him sooo worked up. The poor dear panted & pooped all over himself before we even go to the vet's office & they had to give him a bath when we got there, _not_ good. They wanted him to come in every two weeks for bloodwork but we negotiated to once a month. I just wish someone could just come to our house & draw the blood here. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to approach the treatment for his breathing? What is anyone's opinion on Clavamox & taking it at the same time as Doxy? Would you put your furbabies through that additional testing or only if more problems arise? I know, a lot of questions. But I just want to do what is best for Smoke. Any input would be greatly appreciated, again. Thanks. ~Dee

Nina, call a DIFFERENT vet clinic. Tell them your vet is not returning calls and that you are desperate, they might be able to help. Toxoplasmosis - Spencer
Thank you Phaewryn and everyone that has been sending prayers and good thoughts to me and Spence. Has anyone had any experience with Toxo and immune compromised cats? Nina [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Sending calming and peaceful vibes to Spencer, in hopes it will soothe his stress level. Phaewryn

Re: Felv pos to neg
the guidelines i've seen re: retesting say that it takes a minimum of 90-120 days from exposure for most cats to throw off the virus. i wouldn't bother retesting before then, personally. if there's a positive result after 6-10 weeks, you'd really need to retest again anyway to make sure the cat had enough time to process it from its system. of course, then there's the theory that the virus may take 90-120 days to REGISTER on a test to start with--so a single negative test doesn't really mean anything, either, unless you know FOR SURE where the cat was for the 4 months before you brought it home... My Monty tested positive when he was 9 months old. He was very sick at the time and we thought we were going to lose him. He did recover and we tested him again just after he turned 1 years old. What I can say is that it helped with herpes outbreaks. The company is in Connecticut and I asked if it would help FeLv cats. The company president said it is an immune booster. Following is his response to my question about using glutathione for an FeLv or FIV+ cat. "Yes, I believe that the Kitty Lix (major ingredient is GLUTATHIONE, reduced) will put your infected (?) kitten into a stage that will prevent the shedding of virus particles since it will prevent the spread of the virus from infected cells to uninfected healthy cells. They don't shed virus if they are not actively making new virus particles. By giving it to the uninfected kitten as well, you activate his/her immune system so that any exposure to virus will prevent active infection. I have seen this same behavior in humans with HIV, Hepatitis A, B, and C and several other deadly viruses. I can explain why this happens more completely if you would like. However, suffice it to say, that glutathione, and therefore Kitty Lix, makes a very good viral spread preventative treatment. To maintain the infected kitten's health you will have to give Kitty Lix to him/her throughout its life. Since there is no sure way of garaunteeing all the virus is wiped out of its body. There may remain inactive vestiges of the virus within the kitten as it grows into a cat and finally gets old. The main problem with older animals is that, like humans, as they grow older they make less and less glutathione on their own. That is why older animals succumb to various diseases of aging like viral infections, bacterial infections, cancer, and even heart disease. These all require an active immune system to keep them healthy. Heart disease happens when the heart muscle no longer is able to obtain the glutathione it needs for full muscle contraction and the heart muscle gets flabby." Re: OT: To Nina re. Bruce/ staph infections
Hi Wendy, Thanks for asking about Bruce's hand. It's doing better now, but it was very scary for a while there. I do hope everyone knows about the dangers and how quickly things can become serious with cat bite infections. I wouldn't have thought about a puncture wound from the spine of a cactus doing the same thing, but that makes sense. It's the same kind of "injection" of bacteria deep into the flesh as a cat bite. I'm glad to hear your Mom's recovering. After Bruce was bit we doused it with peroxide, put antibacterial ointment on it and then bandaged it. After the fact, I found out that you shouldn't use ointments, or cover a cat bite because you don't want the outside healing over the inside. I read that soaking it in hot salt water immediately can help, when I asked the urgent care doctor about that, he said it wouldn't hurt, but the only thing that will save you from infection with a serious bite is an abx shot. When I was severely bitten in the past, I went immediately to the ER and got a Tetanus shot and abx shot, it never got infected. Bruce went to work the next day after he was bitten and by the time he got home and I unwrapped his hand, I knew he was in trouble. It was swollen, red and hot! I took one look at it and knew he needed medical assistance, (it took me 2 hours to convince him; such a male). He's had 5 abx shots over the last week. I have it written down, it's Rocefin (sp?). The nurse told us that this abx use is fairly new, if he had come into the office with his hand looking like that before, they would have sent him to the hospital for IV abx. The doctor said that if he hadn't come in that night the infection would have spread to his elbow by morning. They also put him on oral Augmentin, (mega dose of 4000mg a day). His hand is still swollen, but is getting much better finally. It was touch and go there. The doctor kept shaking his head and talking about the hospital. It's been an ordeal, (he had to take a time off from work, the doctor insisted, (Bruce was saying no to that), it's cost a small fortune, but it could have been much, much worse. From now on, if anyone gets bit around here, we're going for the shot immediately. Nina wendy wrote: Hey Nina, How is Bruce's hand? I hope he is better. I wanted to give you some scary info. Re: my baby crackers
Hi, My name is Wendy. I've been on this site for about 10 months now and have learned so much. My FeLV+ passed away, but it was so late when I found this group, there wasn't enough time to save him. I think that Crackers has a much better chance. I'm sorry to hear about Pokemon. I find, however, that things happen for a reason, and you did the right thing by loving Pokemon. You didn't know about the risks of taking her in, so please don't beat yourself up. So many of us here have exposed our kitties by unknowingly taking in an FeLV+ before we were educated on FeLV. I exposed three others by taking in Cricket, my FeLV+. They are all negative. Everyone has posted great info. so far for you. One thing I didn't see was how old Crackers was. That is important. If he is older, then it is harder for him to contract FeLV, as Chris said. Or rather, easier for him to throw it off if exposed. From our experiences here, adults almost never contract FeLV. It's the kittens that contract it permanently. So I wouldn't worry too much until you test and retest. The only thing that might be a problem is that Pokemon and Crackers were fighting and the veterinary community doesn't know enough about this virus to know if indirect exposure (sharing water bowls, grooming) versus direct exposure (introducing the virus directly to the bloodstream) plays a part in throwing off this virus. It could. In the meantime, I would change Cracker's diet, as Phaewryn pointed out. I feed mine Innova. You can't get the good stuff at a grocery or discount store, nor can you get it at Petsmart or Petco (although you can buy Eukanueba there, but it's not good food either, imo.) Also, vitamin C and L-lyine (without propyline glycol) are good immune supplements. The other big thing is to keep Crackers stress-free. I would also find another vet. One that does not feel euthanasia is the only option with FeLV+ kitties. One that is educated. You can figure this out by calling different vets in the area and speaking with them directly about their philosophy on treating FeLV+'s. You'll get a good feel for a vet this way. Your vet was wrong about the test not having any false positives. Try not to freak out too much. We all love our furbabies dearly here, and you have found a good place to be while dealing with this. It's a great source of support. If you'd like, I can email you a sick and regular care kitty manual that I compiled. I can't attach it to these postings, but I can send it to you directly if you'd like. It's got a lot of info. in it. Please keep us posted on your kitty's diagnosis, etc. :) Wendy Dallas, Tx P.S. I think $6000-8000 for treatment for Pokemon is RIDICULOUS Just ludicrous!!! And I don't necessarily agree with their diagnosis and what they said should be done. I wouldn't go there again if you can avoid it. __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Re: Need prayers for my Spencer please
Hi Nina,I understand where you are coming from. When we got the news that the cancer had metastasized in Buddy, we decided to bring him home from the vet so we could spend some time together. I wasn't ready to say goodbye. The vet said he did not seem to be in pain yet. I gave him IV fluids and kept him comfortable until the point when it seemed time. For me, that time was when he stopped eating altogether and was sleeping most of the time. The look in his eyes really clinched it. I would not have chosen to force feed him or keep him going through chemo for varied reasons, the main one that he was terminal. There really was no hope. It wasn't a tumor which could be removed and treated with chemo. Even then, I'm not sure that I would have wanted him to go through chemo. I've never faced that decision. I too, would have to consider the cost of treatments, versus our income. That is the reality of it, unfortunately. At any rate, I am so sorry about Spence. I hope for a miracle, if not, then that his passing is peaceful.GinaNina <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: No sweetie, I was talking about my feral boy, Simon. To Gina re. Buddy
Gina, Your post about Buddy brought that big lump into my throat. The one you get right before you start crying. I remember all to well that 'look' that tells you that they are ready. My Cricket gave me that same look the day I got home from work, when he died. I knew he was telling me he was ready, but I persisted in trying to save him and instead of taking him to be pts, like I had decided earlier, and I had the vet insert a feeding tube. He died anyway that night, too sick for the feeding tube to have a chance to work. I will NEVER FORGET that look that he gave me. It's burned into my mind, and I don't think I'll ever mistake it again. Thanks for sharing and helping my grieving process a little bit more. :) Wendy __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Dear Nina We all do the best we can for our little souls, in whatever circumstances we find ourselves. For what it's worth I decided after I lost Flavia that I would never put another positive through a transfusion. It gave her 10 days, that was it. It put her through tremendous stress. And it cost money that I didn't have at that time. But I guess I had to do it to learn from it. I know that whatever decision you make for your beloved Spencer, it will be the right one, Nina. big hugs, Kerry -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Nina Sent: Monday, September 04, 2006 12:25 PM To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.org Subject: Re: Need prayers for my Spencer please No sweetie, I was talking about my feral boy, Simon. I thought about oxygen helping him to breathe and be more comfortable. But the trade off of being at the vet would probably not be worth it. I wish I had the homemade set up here, or even a tank with a mask to see if it helped. Thank you for your good thoughts. Hi Belinda, I like this version too. I don't have a problem with your old version, but I've had to learn over the years to treat the average idiot with kid gloves. (not real kid leather. no leather. lol) I have a couple of offerings for you to consider on this letter in red. First I would put the 3rd and 4th paragraphs before the 2nd.Belinda <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Here is the revised version, thank you for your help!!Belinda here, I admin the ads, and there are no "Free To Good Home" ads allowed, none is the same as FREE. This is very dangerous for the cat as there are all kinds of lunatics out there that many people are not aware of. You must be very cautious and very carefully check out anyone who expresses an interest in your cat. Some people obtain free cats to train pit bulls to fight, and they are killed in a very violent and gruesome manner by these vicious animals. Then there are people who feed them to snakes as meals (some large exotic snakes require live food). There are crazy people who obtain free animals solely to abuse them. Others, referred to as "bunchers", buy them to make money by selling them to labs, where they are ultimately destroyed after enduring some horrific treatment. These bunchers get anywhere from $30 to $100 dollars a pet from these labs.Giving an animal away FREE is very dangerous for that animal and I personally would rather euthanise a pet than take a chance that they could end up in a horrible situation.I get emails every single day about some poor pet that has endured horrible things until they finally died or were killed. I have even been told by some of my rescues how a whole family will come to look at an adoptee making them appear quite normal, only to find out later the pet was tortured again and again until it finally died or was killed. Please, please be very, very careful who you hand this cat over to, he is depending on you to make sure he is safe when he goes to his new home!! I just lost him last month to anemia at 11 years of age, he wasn't sick for all of those years. I just lost him in May after a 5 month illness to what turned out to be cancer. He lived, ate, slept, played with, groomed and on occasion had spats with all his vaccinated, negative housemates for all those years and nobody ever got it from him. It is almost impossible for a healthy, adult cat to get it from a positive and if they ever did the healthy adult cats immune system would fight it off.The bottom line is felv isn't as contagious as most vets would have you believe. I would encourage you to join our group and find out about the many members who mix positive and negative cats who live for years with no problems and no transmission of disease. Kelly I can't even imagine going through that much dry food. I can barely afford the 80 pounds a month I feed. There's no way I could do it at my house for everyone either. I feed quality dry inside andthe best inexpensive cat food I can afford to the ferals outside, (I usethe Costco brand). Gypsy is the only one getting the turkey mush at my house, except for the occasional treat to some of the others that reallylike it. I use every part of the turkey I can, (it helps assuage myguilt a little bit). We even boil the carcass for broth to add to the dog's food. I'm lucky that Gypsy really likes her mush and as long asit's available to her, she leaves the dry alone. Ciara likes all foods. I am sure she didn't get enough food before I got her. There is no telling her history. She's a 5 year old mom and who knows how many litters she has had. -- Vist the Austin Siamese Rescue store and save a kitty life! http://www.cafepress.com/austinsiamese

On 9/1/06, Nina <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: That's quite a story. That's one thing about this list, whenever I'mfeeling overwhelmed, I can be assured that there's someone out there with even more on their plate. All of us who take in rescues know thattheir chances of being healthy and strong are compromised. Thank youfor doing what you do, not everyone has the strength to keep on facing so many trials and heartaches. I'm so sorry to hear about Twinkletoes, but I have higher hopes for her little sister since she has no symptomsexcept her smaller size. I don't think I'd put her through the stress of tests and spend the money when she's not really sick, just weakened.I'd put her and her remaining siblings on the same sort of supplementregime that we do for felv kitties. Do your best to boost her immune system and get as much quality food into her as possible. I have a goodfeeling about her, (what's her name?). Hi Nina, I named her Rorsarch after the test since she is black and white, but I call her Rory because she is not big enough for that other name. Sometimes I call her Rory Bory. She was a whirlwind of energy this morning, tearing up and down the stairs, but she is SO tiny. She cannot be more than 2 pounds, and she is 5 months old. How's her Momma doing now? Her mom is ok. She's on Flagyl at this time, which controls her symptoms. She had 8 teeth out for the stomatitis. She is not gaining any weight that I can see though. She's about 6.2 pounds. I'ma bit confused, is the one with the scarred cornea still with you? Yes, he is still here. His name is Obsidian and he's a big time lover boy. He is pretty close to normal size, though not as fat as I would like. Doyou have the kitty with spine problems on Glu/Chond and MSM? My GSD,Zevon, has degenerative spine disease and flax seed oil, (not as good for kitties, you might want to try salmon oil for the omegas), Glu/Chondand MSM, that with, believe it or not, exercise, is keeping him mobileand enjoying life. She was just diagnosed last Tuesday and I haven't had time to research her condition. She is on Val Syrup/Torbutol for pain. My vet recommended 1. Pain meds 2. Steroids 3. CT scan to confirm - he only did 2 X ray views 4. Surgery if necessary. Right now she is mobile and only has problems when you manipulate her tail, so I don't mess with her tail -however, the other cats do, so I am keeping her away from all of them but Missy (they are sisters and very bonded). Is Missy on CoQ10? I've heard good things aboutusing it for heart problems. Not yet, but I have plans to start her on it, along with L-Lysine and a few other things as well. The internist didn't think it would do any good so I consulted with my regular vet. I'm goign to start her at the cardiologist as I am not pleased with that internist at all. My goodness girl, you sure do have your hands full. I'm sending youstrength, energy and prayers to help you do Spirit's work. Bless you and everyone in your household,Nina Thanks Nina!:) -- Vist the Austin Siamese Rescue store and save a kitty life!http://www.cafepress.com/austinsiamese

These kitties are gorgeous! The shelter contact info is below. Yvonne Crosspost from Special Needs Rescue cats 8/29/06:A woman dumped all of her 12 cats off at the Humane Society of Williamson County yesterday. One of the cats is a gorgeous adult male, Russian Blue kitty. Unfortunately he is FIV positive. Many FIV positive kitties live a long healthy life, the only difference is, they need to be indoor only kitties and not with other kitties, unless they are FIV positive as well. She also dropped off a Tabby Momma with her two 3-week old Siamese/Tabby kittens (see description & link to photo in second post below). If we can't find homes for them soon, they will be euthanized. Please open your heart to this sweet boy and possibly one of his kitty friends. Pictures are available. Please save this sweet boy! Of course, she never bothered to fix or vaccinate any of us. Now I have FIV and two little kittens to care for who might also be FIV positive. We will probably live a full long life and just need to be kept indoors and away from other cats unless they too are FIV positive. FIV is not transmittable to any other animal or person. Please consider adopting one or more of us! We promise to love you always! Adoption fee has been reduced to $50.00 and includes spay/neuter and vaccinations.
