Gelding for sale

Tish,

In case you change your mind and decide to bring your old friend with
you, the Bay Area has lots of horses and facilities and beautiful
places to ride, including beaches and Mt Tam. You can ride all year
round. If you haven't done so, check out the Bay Area Equestrian
Network online. They have lots of info on facilities and a big
classifieds section. The Bay Area a bit pricey, of course, but the
climate is lovely and the food is fabulous.

Hope the move works out well for you,

I live in Sonoma County. My next door neighbor boards horses and does a
good job for a very reasonable price. Only hitch is that the horses are
out on grass 4 days a week. If you have an insulin resistant horse, that
will not work.. There is no drama at this barn. Everyone cooperates in
keeping an eye on each others' horses and in doing little tasks around the
barns.

I also know of another place that costs upwards of $400 a month that puts
horses out on grass all day, although I do think there might be a drylot as
well. Irrigated grass. My friend, who used to manage barns, says it is
the best run barn in Sonoma County because the horses get individual,
eyes-on attention from the owner every day..

Are you moving into San Francisco, proper?

Gelding for sale

2014-08-09 Thread Tish Pasqual
This message is from: Tish Pasqual tishpasq...@gmail.com

EWF Elphineas (Elph, Advent Hill Oliver x Vanya), 17 years old. I picked
Elph out at 3 months of age and took him at 6 months, so he has been with
me his entire life. Trained to ride and drive - this is a finished horse.
He won the Reserve Championship in Versatility at the 25th Blue Earth show
with his youth rider KayLeigh Berg. He likes to jump and trail ride/drive,
has a good walk, trot and canter, flying lead changes, side pass, half
pass, turn on the haunches, etc. He has been to numerous horse shows (he
has won first and second place at some large dressage schooling shows in
recent years, and has cleaned up in his classes with a 9 year old at very
large hunter shows. Elph is unphased by just about anything, and is willing
to try anything.

I didn't start riding him until he was about 8 (we were pretty preoccupied
with driving for a while), but he was with a trainer for almost two years
and knows his stuff.

He has no vices, cross ties, stands for farrier, can be bathed, flysprayed,
blanketed, clipped. I never shoe him (I use Renegade boots if the ground is
rough). He has always had the best of care - farrier every 6 - 8 weeks,
never missed shots or vetting, equine dentist, worming, etc. He is in
perfect physical shape, and is a very easy horse to keep. He gets busy hay
during the day, a grass hay ration balancer, and SmartPak's 4 in 1
supplement on a daily basis.

I am asking $6500 for him. I also have a saddle that fits him perfectly (a
black Parelli all purpose) that fits him to perfection that I would like
sell with him. I paid $2500 for it, but am willing to negotiate for the
entire package. He also comes with assorted other items: his wardrobe of
blankets, show sheet, Renegade boots, black bridle with Myler bit custom
fitted by Dale Myler (#33).

Please contact me for video or if you have any questions. This sale is
forced because my husband and I are moving to San Francisco, and the horse
situations and not good there (too far away, and at most places the horses
have very little or no turnout).

Hi Bonnie,
Yes, I remember you. You bought a pair of sleigh bells from me several years
ago.

Also, we were competing at the same events in Ca. years ago.

I do not have any current pictures. However, I will try to find some older
ones.
The boarding situation where he is turned very bad yesterday, I need to
relocate him ASAP.

Best to call me this evening.
I have several calls/emails ,from therapy centers, one by you, over on the

Best,

9 year old gentle gelding for sale

2013-08-27 Thread Jim Barnhart
This message is from: Jim Barnhart jb...@sleepyeyetel.net

Hi everyone,

I've decided to sell one of our fjords. Our reason to sell is we have too
many horses for the number of riders. Some of our extended family are
getting older and not riding as much, I'm pretty busy with work, and so we
just aren't getting as much time on our horses. It's not fair to the horses
to just be pasture horses, so we're going to sell.

His name is OT and he's a 9 year old gelding. We've had him for 2 years.
We bought him as my horse (I'm not an experience rider), to replace my 25
year old. He was sold to us as a very solid, been there done that, riding
horse. The previous owner felt he was stable enough to be a therapy horse.
I don't know if he has or can drive since we just ride our horses. He's a
bigger boy, 14.2 hands, solid to hold me as a bigger rider.

In the 2 years we've had him, I have to say he is a gentle giant. We
haven't had enough time on him to really say he's bombproof, hence the
reason we have decided to sell him. I paid $6500 for him, and am asking
$5900 since he hasn't been used as much recently and needs a touch up.

Here is his pedigree.

I am just starting my search but an older been there, done that Fjord would

What are you asking for him?

Hi just letting everyone know I still have a fabulous 4yo grey gelding for
sale. He is super athletic, sweet, gentle kind loving and with plenty of
pep. He is sound and gentle, gets along well with other horses and is out of
my blue ribbon evaluated mare. His sire was a son of Flotren and out of a
daughter of Erlend. Emil is lightly started under saddle has excellent
ground manners and needs to be take forward. No bad habits! He loves to work
with people, I am just getting a little too elderly to keep him going at
this point and need to find him a home where he has a job. This Fjord is
drop dead gorgeous, silvery grey nice leg barring, supple and also has a
huge extension. He is 13.3 and looks almost like a clone of his grandpa
Erlend. Price is $3700 but I am willing to be negotiable to the right home.
You can see him here on my page. You would have a hard time finding a nicer
more athletic sweet funny and willing Fjord!

Hello Alaska fjord peeps!

I'm just passing along this super little fjord
gelding for sale up here. Follow the craigslist post to contact his current
owners. I used to own him, and I can provide more information and pictures
also. The ad doesn't really do him justice - he rides English/Western, drives
single or double, and packs. Rides out by himself, leads across bridges and
rivers, doesn't spook, has pulled farm implements and done parades. With
consistent riding he is fine with beginners. I would buy him back if I thought
I could use him enough, but I have a full barn now and a new business. I
originally purchased him because he needed to be rescued, and he came around
so nicely that I hated to sell him, but ultimately he is too small for us and
one too many horses. He is 15 now, but as far as I know has never been abused
or overworked, so he should have another 15 years of good use.  Thanks for

I have a 6 yr old gelding (Majson X Alle)for sale. He has been on trails,
started with dressage and over a few jumps by his previous owner. I just
don't have time for him and I'd like him to find a good home. He's been here
for about 6 mos without being used so he needs a tuneup. He is not a
beginner horse but is friendly and gentle. I'd like $3500 for him but will
entertain offers or payments. Please let me know if you'd like more
information and pictures. He is located in Colorado but I can possibly
transport him for an additional cost.

Fjord gelding for sale

2012-01-31 Thread kathleen jesse
This message is from: kathleen jesse kmje...@unm.edu

It takes a community. Several members of the RMFHC and 4 Winds Equestrian
Retreat and Wellness Center in Central New Mexico are helping to
facilitating the sale of four Norwegian Fjord horses from the Sangre De
Christo Youth Ranch. These horses are the offspring of Norwegian Fjord horse
foundation stock imported from Norway almost thirty years ago. The Sangre De
Christo Youth camp is a small scale working/teaching ranch that sponsors a
free summer camp to city kids offering them the opportunity to experience
riding and caring for horses, farming, milking goats, and an opportunity to
experience sustainable living principals in practice. The ranch was started
in the mid 80's by Dr. Bud Wilson and his wife Barbara. After teaching
cardiac surgery in India, Bud and his family moved to the ABQ area where he
helped establish the cardia-thoracic surgery program and UNM School of
Medicine. In 1985, the Wilsons purchased 700 pristine acres in Llama, New
Mexico to start their youth ranch. The Wilsons wanted a riding program to
be one of the main stays of the camp, and in researching various types of
horses, they learned of the hardiness, intelligence, even temperament and
versatility of the Norwegian Fjord horse. They purchased and imported two
stallions and six mares from Norway to begin their riding program. From
1985 until the present these horses and their offspring have been ridden,
driven, played with, etc. by countless children. The residential camp is
completely free. It is run on a small budget by a small staff, volunteers,
and the Doctor. Due to the extreme drought conditions on the ranch and the
rising cost of maintaining the riding program, SCYR needs to downsize their
historic herd of Norwegian Fjords.

Curly Moe (King Haakon x Vilde) is one of four horses for sale from the SCYR
herd. He is a 9 y/o 14hh dun gelding. Great, fun horse! Currently in
training with trainer, Patty Wilber. Nice gaits, great trot, well mannered,
will go anywhere on the trail. He needs an experienced, consistent rider to
complete his training . Curly Moe is $1500.

Mature ride/drive Fjord Gelding for sale with all equipment

2011-06-01 Thread Shawna K-B.
This message is from: Shawna K-B. quycksy...@hotmail.com

Know someone looking to get into Fjords? Looking for a second fjord, or
someone to teach you to drive?

SF Atom (NFHR sf-e-321-sg) is a great horse to learn to drive or ride with.
He's a 1991 model, but we all know that 20 isn't all that old for a Fjord.
He's 14.1, and somewhere around 1,000 pounds, a solid, tank of a Brown Dun.

He is strong enough to carry 300lbs with ease under saddle. Comfortable and
quiet with ringwork, doesn't get bored with it. Solid walk/trot, canter needs
work. Sane, sensible experienced driving horse. Real Buddha pony, quiet and
patient, but not dead. Goes great on trail with others, needs a confident
rider with some experience to go out alone. Goes pretty much anywhere driving.
Easy to work around on the ground. Will try grass diving on occasion, but he
is a fjord.

Barefoot, air fern food requirements, sound for the last 9 years. Great second
horse, gets along with anyone. Would be happy in a turnout situation, or in a
more traditional stabling situation, has never lived alone. UTD on shots,
coggins, teeth, feet.

Sold with all equipment, including harness and 2-person cart. He'll also come
with a treeless saddle that he goes well in, a bareback pad, his bridle, and a
blanket.

Tom is located in Central Massachusetts.

Asking $2,800 for the whole package.

Contact using the dreamhorse ad listed below:

I have been busy beyond belief and have not had a lot of time to read emails
regretfully. Being so busy, I realized I have too many horses, and have
decided to downsize a little. I am offering for sale my very best, most
talented Fjord, Polaris (aka Polo). You will not find a better bred horse
anywhere. He is the horse with the best work ethic in my barn. He is very
correctly built, and is a joy to watch move. He is very uphill, and lifts
beautifully into a canter. He is also very well started. He can go any
direction you want. Trail, dressage, driving.?

Do you have pictures?

We have 3 Fjords in our program and just love them.

I am looking for a Fjord of my own.
We have a dressage club here and I would love to be able to attend some of the
clinics, etc..
I would also like to do some trail riding.

Can you tell me how much you are asking for him and where you are located?

Thank you,

Fjord Friends-
I have come to the sad conclusion that I don't have time for two riding
horses. I currently have Anvil's Rafael who, because of his back problems, is
now a large pet. I have a young mule who I'll be starting this summer, which
leaves no time for my #3 horse, Bjorn the Fjord. Bjorn is sweet and tractable,
but not trained. I've done groundwork with him (leading, round penning,
grooming/hoof trimming) but have not started him under saddle. He is a very
handsome Fjord, taller (14.2) and leaner than some, with a fine head. His
pedigree is
here http://www.nfhr.com/ponyweb/ponyweb.cgi?horse=200919OwnerName=wassonSe

prostate cancer. He's 44 and fit, so we're hopeful and prayerful. The
Canadian medical system is not as all inclusive as you might think.
2) I'm a permanent novice rider and have a fjord horse who needs a confident

I have a registered, 4 year old, gelding for sale. Paul is 14 hands, a sweet
boy and is great for the farrier and vet. Paul has been trained for the last 18
months by a professional trainer who comes once a week to ride him doing arena
work and riding him out on the trail on his own. Paul has had lots of work
getting him ready for driving he is ready to hitch but I don't have a harness

I really like this boy but my husband recently had heart surgery and we must

I am looking for the best home I can find for Paul and his price will be right

Paul is in New Mexico we can help with transportation to the surrounding

Beautiful Gray Gelding for Sale

2010-07-06 Thread Michele Noonan
This message is from: Michele Noonan fjordl...@hotmail.com

Hi Everyone.. I hope you are enjoying your summer (we are finally getting
one)

We have a 3 year old gray fjord gelding OFI Skogen that we are placing for
sale.. We had bought him as a stallion prospect and changed our mind about
owning a stallion from here on out. My kids are all growing up and some out
of the area and I have some nice stallions to choose from in our driving
distance.

Skogen's Sire is the wonderful Flotren and his dam is the beautiful OH Sadie.

Skogen was evaluated as young stock and received a blue in conformation.. He
is a gorgeous guy and is smart and athletic too.. He is currently in training
with Brianne Stromberg and doing amazingly well.

We do very little cantering at age 3, but he is learning everything else.. He
is already being ridden out on trail and is on a light rein and moving off
our legs and side passing. He is learning much quicker than we anticipated.
He has cantered enough to pick up both leads and be comfortable with it, but I
have requested that we don't focus on that right now. (just my personal
opinion, I wanted to be overcautious). He is light in his mouth (which is my
favorite thing I like about Bri's training)

We had full intention of moving much slower but he loves his job and is so
balanced for his age. We don't work him hard of course at this age
He is of average size and growing and filling out like a weed this year.
13.3-14.0H.
He is developing some nice muscling.

He is easy to handle and sweet as can be of course. I wanted to post him to
the fjord list first. I will be working on a video in the next week or two
and then listing him on Dreamhorse.. He will go to Libby in September If we
still own him.

3 is still young but he is on his way to make someone a very nice performance
horse

I have a 3 year old fjord gelding for sale. My trainer has done extensive

Paul is calm, my 8 year old granddaughter has ridden him (thought it was
neat to ride a horse with the same name as her Dad) he is good for the
farrier and loads in the trailer. Paul is willing, likes to work and
learns fast. He is 13.3 but at just 3 likely will grow some more. Asking
$2500 for him but this is negotiable. Can help with delivery to states

when told, and is best pals with the vet and farrier.

Edgar handles nicely and loves attention but I am a very timid rider
with a 4 small children and a full time job. I've managed to have an
excellent rider out to work with him weekly for the past eight months
but she is scheduled for surgery and can't ride for several months. He
is in need of someone with riding skills and time to give him a job.
We are just over an hour from the border and the U.S. dollar would put our
southern neighbours at an advantage...

Nice GRAY Gelding For Sale

2008-09-28 Thread Gayle Ware
This message is from: Gayle Ware [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi folks,

I have a very nice, dark gray, young gelding for sale. His registered name is
Majson Knut, but his new 'barn' name is 'Herbie' - as in LOVE BUG. He is a
real sweetie pie and loves hugs. He is listed on the Digest For Sale page
along with a picture and info as to what he has accomplished so far in his
training. I do have a full body picture available if you would like to see
more of him. His owners are 'motivated' and he is reasonably priced.

This fellow has strikingly BLACK facial markings - a real eye-catcher. He has
a lifetime of performance to offer some lucky person.

Please email me privately for more info or call 541-485-2730. I don't 'hang
out' by the phone very often, but if you leave a message, I'll get back to you
as soon as I can.

Thanks.

Hi Everyone! I was brousing through Dreamhorse.com the other evening and came
across a really good deal.. there is a very nice gentleman selling a half
brother to my gelding Theo for only $800.00. He is moving and really needs to
sell this nice little gelding. Fawn Creek Furi is about 10 years old and
leads but is not broke to ride or drive. If anyone out there is looking for a
nice easygoing horse to train and love look him up on Dreamhorse or feel free
to contact me for the owner's email address. I'd snap this horse up myself but
my husband and I travel all over and I'm in the process of starting my fine art
businessjust way too much going on to add a new one!
If this horse is half as smart as Theo- he'll be a breeze to train and a
wonderful steady mount! He is located in Co.

At the request of the owner I took a look at this horse to see if it
would be worth his while to have the horse trained and then sell him. He
is a very sweet horse. I started his full brother, Fawn Creek Storm, who
is currently a wonderful trail horse on the Western Slope. However, Furi
will take some concentrated work from a very dedicated person. Even
though he is sweet, he is suspicious of new people and was somewhat
spooky, even in his own pasture, which he shares with his Halflinger
friend (who was not spooky at all). So, I don't think he would be a
breeze to train, but I do think that if someone out there is interested
in a rewarding project, this horse would end up being worthwhile to take
on. He will need a lot of exposure to new and varied stimuli. It just
wasn't cost effective for the owner to have him in training with me to
try to sell him.

If I didn't have so many of my own to work with already, I would have
purchased him, but I just don't have the time to take on another project!

Sizzling gray gelding for sale

2008-08-18 Thread Gayle Ware
This message is from: Gayle Ware [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,

For those of you who love gray Fjords (AKA - blue dun, 'blue buckskin' as I
affectionately call them), I have a very gray young gelding for sale. I say
very gray because he is dark - no question as to what color he is! This
fellow, Knut, is a half brother to my gray stallion, Johan, and if Knut
follows suit, he will only get darker with age. Knut has permanent BLACK
eyeliner and a black muzzle - very striking.

Knut is 2 years old and has come to my training barn to establish his
fundamental training in preparation for a lifetime of performance for some
lucky person. He now has his Associate Degree in Kindergarten! We have
worked extensively in the round pen and he has learned to carry a bit and
saddle and is responding nicely to voice commands to walk, trot, and whoa (my
favorite word to establish in a horse's vocabulary!). He is learning to
become soft, flexible and responsive to the bit. We have done some cantering
just to make sure that that gear is there also.

Knut stands about 13.1 hands right now so I don't expect him to be huge by the
time he is mature, but will make a delightful mount for a lady or small youth.
Because he is young and just starting his learning experience, I would not
recommend him for beginners.

He is priced right now at $3200 so if someone wants a nice performance
prospect, take a good look at this fellow. I will be continuing with his
foundation work for now and would be happy to finish that when he is old
enough if someone doesn't have the knowlege or skill to complete that
themselves.

For more info you can email me or call at 541-485-2730. If you call, you'll
probably have to leave a message and I'll return the call. I don't spend much
time sitting by the phone! LOL!!

Nice Red Dun Fjord Gelding for Sale

2008-07-07 Thread ingrid
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi everyone!
It's been ages since I've posted here or over at the other Fjord List.
Life has been getting in the way of me having much down time.
I'm catching up on reading many conversations and enjoying all
the 'Fjord Talk' again!
The company my husband works for has shut down half of their business
and will be moving it's offices soon. Not sure if we'll be moving
along with them...holding our breath here. Anyway, they have dear
hubby traveling ALOT lately. Poor man has been to 10 states in one
month. The traveling will continue and with jobs as scarce as they
are, he can't exactly say no.
We purchased a really nice red dun gelding for him last year (before
things got crazy) so that he could go accompany us on the
trails. Solvin', his gelding, is 10 years old, 14.2 hds., sweet
dispositioned and loves going out on trail. At the moment, Solvin is
being ridden 3 to 4 times a week by a wonderful young lady...an
equestrian college student. Unfortunately she will be going back to
her university in the fall and Solvin will have no rider. I do not
have the time, as I have 2 other horses and a business to run. I
would like to have Solvin find a great home. His asking price is
$6500, but that is negotiable. He is registered with the NFHR NFR-L-
1171-G. Up to date on all things, Coggins and Health.Cert. provided.
Solvin's Photos (and a pastel portrait I painted of him) can be
viewed at my webpage: www.fullmoonfarm.us
Scroll down to the 'Gelding for Sale' link.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Handsome Fjord Gelding for Sale

2008-06-27 Thread Melissa Waters
This message is from: Melissa Waters [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a home for my gelding. Here is some information
about him. Please contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you would
like more information or pictures.

Bo Fjord's Leif is a handsome 12 yr old registered Fjord gelding. He
is broke to ride and very green broke drive. Up to date on
vaccinations, worming and farrier.

What Leif has done:
Primarily Leif has been used for pasture riding on the roads and
fields around my home for the past few summers. He doesn’t have a lot
of formal training but is a calm and steady guy. I boarded him at a
stable and took a month of riding lessons on him two summers ago. He
was great in the arena with other horses. I took a beginners driving
clinic with him and he did great, was harnessed and pulling shafts by
the end of the day. We have had him hitched to a cart a couple of
times and driven around our pastures but haven’t done a lot of work
with the driving.

Reason for selling:
Leif is really at his best when he is being worked regularly. He
could use some training to help him reach his potential as a riding
and driving horse. I currently do not have the time or expertise to
offer him what he needs.

Additional Items:
Leif comes with a complete driving harness, simple two wheel cart,
Wintec English saddle and bridle.

Thanks

Melissa Leif (who is tired of being bored!)

This message is from: Tiffany Amschl [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Due to a lack of space in our little barn (thanks to a recent
acquisition of a pony that belonged to a family friend who passed
away) we've decided to sell our 4-year-old grey Fjord gelding. We
bought him from Patti Jo Walter last year, and she did a great job of
training him to drive last summer.

Lord's Geir is cute as a bug and has the personality to match. He's
driving wonderfully, never seems to be phased by anything, and really
wants to crawl in your pocket and follow you into the house. Has also
been ridden, though would consider him very green. If he sticks
around, he might make it to a CDE this summer, plus a pleasure
driving show. Not drafty and has enough go forward to excel at
driven dressage and would probably love to jump too. Nice movement
with great overstep.

Patti's got him on her website (www.franciscreekfjords.com) or your
can also see him on my site as well: http://web.mac.com/windfieldfarm

Fjord Gelding for sale

2007-08-29 Thread Onna Kulaja
This message is from: Onna Kulaja [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,
I have decided to sell my 10 year old gelding. He has had over 4 months of
Parelli and has been used as an arena horse for dressage. Scored 60 and 65
in schooling shows. He would have scored much higher, if an experienced
rider had shown him, but unfortunately it was me doing the showing. Ha.
Probably one of the cutes Fjords you will find. He is 13.2 and divided in
equal thirds, so to speak. Very athletic, can jump the blue barrels, and
loves the arena work. He is forward moving and after riding him consistently
will trot if you just think the word. Moves well off the leg. Needs more
work on the canter. He would require an experienced rider. I am selling him
below what he is really worth because of lack of trail experience. Up to
date on everything. He is also alpha in nature. Very sweet with ground
manners, farrier, grooming, etc, but must be head horse. Doesn't kick or
bite. If interested, contact me privately. Onna

I am forwarding this to the Fjord List for owners Vel and Mary Orth.

Fjords For Sale:

Elliot, age 4, born 5/13/2003.
14.2 hh, brown dun (no white.) Microchip OA00627772.

We started driving Elliot as a 2 year old. He has been used for our
carriage service. He has been to parades, weddings, other social event
rides, and wagon train rides.
We drive Elliot single, and he has been ridden a lot this summer. We
have used Elliot and Enga together this year.
This year (2007) spent time on an Amish friend’s farm. There he was
used to help with spring planting and field work. Chris said with the
farm work he never let up and put his heart right into his work.
Because Elliot is an eager, hardworking horse, I feel he needs a more
advanced handler.
We call Elliot's training as being farm broke. He has had no
professional training.
Elliot is very good to trim, groom, harness or saddle, and have foot
work or teeth work done. He loads very well. He has a 1 year older full
brother in the area. The brother is a little taller.

Enga, age 4, born 5/11/2003.
14.3 hh, brown dun (no white). Microchip OA00643466.

We started driving Enga as a 2 year old. She has been used for our
carriage service. She has been in parades, weddings, other social event
rides, and wagon train rides.
This year (2007) she spent time on an Amish friend’s farm. There she
was used to help with spring planting and field work. She also drives
single and has been ridden a lot this summer. We have been driving Enga
and Elliot together this summer.
Like Elliot, she is farm broke and has had no professional training.
Enga is a more laid back type of horse. I feel she can easily be handled
by less-advanced handlers.
She is very good about being trimmed, groomed, harnessed, saddled, and
having her teeth worked on. She loads very easily too. She likes
attention. We feel Enga has some nice markings.

Elliot and Enga can be seen at any time in the afternoon on the Orth's
farm near Marshall, Minnesota.

Hi From Field of Dreams,

If anyone is looking for a BEEN THERE - DONE THAT great gelding, this fellow
is it. He is 11 years old and stands close to 15 hands. He is sired by
Woodland's Dustin and is out of Paradise's Celebrity, whom I sold to a 911
firefighter from NY City. Dusty has his Blue in Conformation and Gold
Medallions in Western English through the NFHR Evaluation. Celebrity has
two offspring that have earned performance medallions in Western so this
guy, Dustin's Ely, comes with credentials plus.

I sold Ely as a youngster to a gal from here in Eugene. I did his initial
training and we showed him with success. He also participated in an Expo in
Albany, Oregon. A few years later his owner moved to eastern Oregon and
took him on camping trips there. He most recently was ridden by two young
girls in jumping.

I have been riding him myself and have also used him for lessons. GEEZ, he
is nice! He has a great, cadenced jog, nice extended trot, slow collected
canter, a 'Gayle' stop, very correct rollbacks (AKA haunch turns). This guy
could be competitive in Open Pleasure classes. He is really a nice mover.

I would love to see him go to someone who would be interested in having him
evaluated at some point in the near future. He definitely has what it takes
to earn Gold Medallions!

His original owners have divorced so he is now looking for a new family. He
is priced to sell and is a real bargain at $5500.

He can be seen on my website under Winning Offspring. Take a look.

If anyone is interested in scheduling an appointment to see him or would
like more information, my barn number is 541-485-2730 or you can email me.
I don't 'hang out' by the phone very often since I spend most of my waking
hours riding and training so you may have to leave a message, but I will
return the call as soon as humanly possible.

Hi List,

Because of the drought here in northeast Minnesota, I am selling my 4 year

Sandy's Misty Dawn. Vennlig is a special horse, very calm and easy to work

Vennlig has been hitched to a cart, stone boat and has had a saddle on. He
can stand in a tie stall all night. He ground drives and has had children
on his back. Current on all shots and coggins. Vennlig would be a great
therapeutic riding horse. He's very gentle. Asking $2500, can negotiate.

gelding for sale

2007-01-29 Thread schnabl

This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I am posting this for a fellow Back Country Horsemen member, who
is completely computer illiterate. It will be interesting to see how long it
takes this time to get it on the list, last time my post was floating around
somewhere for weeks

This guy is an old rancher,he used to have a team of Fjord geldings,
but one of them had to be put down a few years ago.
Since he himself has some serious health problems never got another
Fjord and now wants to sell the other gelding.

I haven't seen the horse in person, but from the pictures I was given he
looks to be medium built and around 14 hh,a handsome guy, with a cute face.He
was extensively driven single and team, used for farmwork and on wagon
trecks. Not beeing worked for a few years now,I suspect he will need a brush
up course though. He is 15 years old.
He is registered, but still with the old NFA,so You won't find him on the
NFHR website.I asked Mike May about it, and apparently it's not complicated
or costly to update the papers.
You can look up his sire Andre 221-B and his dam Heidis 2096-B on the NFHR
website.

He is asking $2500 US (slightly negotiable) and intends to bring him to the
auction if he cannot sell him anytime soon.

The horse is located in Southern BC,about 3 hrs from the US border,
Oroville crossing.
Anybody interested please phone or e-mail me privately.

This message is from: karen ribley [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi List,

I've so enjoyed reading the postings over the past year and have
learned so much from you!!

Thanks!!

I am in a difficult position and would appreciate your passing on the
following info. I have sadly decided to sell my 3yr. old Fjord
gelding, Short Creek Quinn (CFHR). I bought him in July of 05' as a
two year old, intending to bring him along slowly. However, a month
after I got him to St. Louis, my husband was diagnosed with terminal
kidney cancer. Quinn was put out to pasture to grow and frolic. My
husband passed away last March, and as time has gone on it's become
glaringly apparent I will not have the time to devote to working with
a young horse. I have renewed respect for single parents, and find the
obligations to my two teens, full time work , etc. take LOTS more time
than I had to devote before. Quinn is 14 hands high, typical
in-your-pocket Fjord personality. He is great with grooming, feet,
bathing, etc. I bought him for his unflappable personality, and he IS
the calmest 3 year old I've met. He has been lightly ridden, stands
still for mounting, waits for walk cue, does a nice extended trot,
and has a great slow trot. Of course, all this needs to be refined,
and I haven't worked with him in a while. I'm asking $3500 for him,
exactly what I paid, and excellent loving home. As time goes on, I
think he would be a great western pleasure horse, trails...suitable
for a lady or youth.

Thanks for looking, and please pass this in to anyone you know who may
be looking.

Yours, Karen (in COLD St. Louis, but NO snow!!)

I am representing a very nice 4 year old gelding for sale in northwest
Illinois.

His name is Strider, he is by Edvard an outcross Norwegian import and
out of imported - Sylvia by Halstor sire of Orinke, Prisco and
Raldiene and out of Jasmijn dam of Parabel and Tamarinde . He
comes from a line of proven performance and conformation horses - (blues in
all categories) - he rides (and does canter.) He is very quiet and calm,
dependable and has a good mind. He's lived at the Veterinarian's large
animal clinic within their boarding facility and has daily handling and
excellent care - he has a good disposition and very attractive, with no
stable vices, sound and ready to go for someone who wants an all around
horse. He's 14 hands and in good shape, brown dun with a beautiful head. He
is middle of the road in type - not draft, nor refined -

He got his disposition from his dam - who was one of the most gentle Fjords
I've known. Sylvia won a big two/three year old halter class at Blue
Earth, I trained her to ride and drive.

To give you an idea of the disposition here - a couple of years ago I had a
total hysterectomy - and all I heard from horse friends was - oh it's
nothing - my wife ( or I ) was riding in two weeks after the
operation... not to be outdone - I had Sylvia in my barn for sale at
the time and I rode her 10 days after the operation - I knew she was that
good of a take care of you type of a horse.

Asking price is $5,500Contact privately for more information.

Wonderful young gelding for sale

2006-12-14 Thread Starfire Farm

This message is from: Starfire Farm [EMAIL PROTECTED]

We have a wonderful young gelding for sale, Starfire Donati. He is by
BDF Obelisk out of a wonderful Dutch mare, Orinke (Halstor - Korine
-Toddy.) Orinke is 1/2 sister to Sabrine, owned by Green Valley Farm,
who is the mother of GVF Sjokolade, the Grand Champion Stallion of the
25th Anniversary show.

Both parents have earned their NFHR Medallions. Obie is an S1/G1. Orinke
is S1, having completed all of her Introductory tests. The only reason
she isn't a G1 is that she's been having babies.

If you have seen Obelisk anywhere, or had an opportunity to see him at
Winona, you know that he is a very talented Fjord stallion, with an
exceptional work ethic. Orinke has a very good work ethic as well, with
a wonderful, steady temperament, yet forward thinking.

I just saddled up Donati and got on him for the first time yesterday,
and he took it in stride, better than any horse, including Fjords, that
I've started in the past. I just walked him around, as we don't do
serious work with backing our horses until they're late 3 or 4 years
of age. He is a good mover, with three good gaits. He uses his hocks
very well and is a balanced, athletic horse. He especially finds the
canter more easy than most Fjords that I've worked with. He learns
quickly, is very willing, loves to be working with me, and is respectful
and light on the leadrope.

I think he will make a very special driving horse or an excellent riding
horse (or both, for that matter - both parents do both, as well as
draft.) He's not very tall, standing only 13.1 at this time, but because
he's only 2 years old (he'll be three in July) he may reach 13.2 or
13.3. 14 hh if we're lucky, but he was a bit pre-mature when he was
born, and was small (but beautiful!) at birth.

Anyway, I'm writing this now because he impressed me so much yesterday.
Someone will find this horse a delight to have as a Fjord partner! We
have photos of him up on our website: http://www.starfirefarm.com. He's
listed as a colt, but was gelded about 4 months ago.

Hello fjord friends,

good conformation and an excellent temperament. He has been broke to ride
and drive for years. Lukas has excellent manners around mares and has never
had a health problem.

EIK is a 3 year old brown dun gelding. Sire: Lukas Dam: CV Erna C1518
Eik has been driving for a year, both double and single.
Both fjords are priced to sell. For further information, please contact Liz

Patti Jo's gelding for sale

2006-08-26 Thread Pat Holland

This message is from: Pat Holland [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The below discribed gelding Patti Jo speaks of is everything she says. I
orginally got this guy for the couple. When I first saw rode him - knowing
he came from a lesson barn I thought he might be a bit sour - from the ring
work and varied riders - but he wasn't at all, he has a good mouth and NOT
dead sidded as so many lesson horses tend to get. The couple took excellent
care of him - they only had two horses and gave them both daily individual
attention and care. The husband (not real horse experianced) used him as
his trail horse. So like Patti Jo said - husband safe - if any of you want
to get a family member interested - and do so with a gentle dependable
horse - this little gelding may be the one. I sure liked him.

just a note that my horse Oz (Oslo Gull) is still for sale, due to health

has been on a very healthy diet since becoming way too fluffy this winter
(thanks to my well-meaning but unknowing hubby). he's been ridden 3 times a

since april by my instructor (ouch, says my checkbook, but it's well worth

indoors and out, trails and lots of road work. he does not drive. asking $6000.

he will be at blue earth. patti jo and her students are going to ride him in

with glazed over eyes by wednesday afternoon. after blue earth he will be going
to wisconsin with patti jo.

and bolt them on. Cover the whole thing with one of those huge rubber
tubs just the size to fit. etc. I will try to find the plans and send

Red Dun Gelding for Sale in Parker, Colorado

2006-06-29 Thread Karen Keith

This message is from: Karen Keith [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello List:

I just wanted to let folks know I am moving overseas and am selling my 8
year old red dun gelding. He is 14 hands and of a lighter build -- maybe
900 lbs on the tape if he took a deep breath. He is registered with FBA
(Fjordhorse Breeders of America). He is Yule FBA-1171, foaled 10/6/97.
His breeder is Leonard Rice, H Bar C, Inc. of Baker, Nevada. His sire is
Nils and dam is Seria. He is a grandson of Grabb on his sire's side.

I have put a photo album up on webshots.com.

http://community.webshots.com/user/luvmypony

(If you have any trouble with the link above, you can just go to
webshots.com and put in my member name luvmypony. That will take you to
Dink's album.

Although he came to me as Yule, I have called him Fair Dinkum, or Dink for
short. He is clicker trained to do several tricks and loves the whole
clicking game.

Dink would like a new owner/friend who will continue his clicker training.
When he came to me, he wasn't keen on people, but now he thinks people are
very good company. I attribute this to the communication through clicking.

Dink has been my favorite of my small herd, and I will miss him terribly.
But it's time to find him a new home as I will be leaving for England in
August.

Dink is broke to ride, but needs lots of wet saddle blankets. For the past
five years he's mostly been my clicker training trick horse, while I drove
my Fjord mare (recently sold to Linda Taylor in California). He's
participated in two or three Fjord Fun Days at Starfire Farm. He even
performed his tricks there.

Have a look at his webshots album. There's 60 pictures of him doing just
about everything he knows. He would make someone a lovely friend and a
great little trick Fjord to take to Libby in the fall! And his lovely red
dun color really stands out in a crowd of brown duns.

Let me know if you're interested or need more details.

Cheers!

Karen Keith

2006-06-23 Thread dagrun
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have been training a wonderful gelding named Elvis :-) for owner Roni
Hale for the past two months. She has come to the conclusion that he
should go to someone who will give him a job and develop his full
potential. She may consider a trade for an older, rock solid trail horse.

Elvis is a tall guy (maybe 14h3, one day I'll get hold of a stick and
measure him). He is definitely an above average mover and is pretty lively
for a fjord - but not difficult to control. Nice straight legs and well
proportioned overall, good neck that thins off just right by the
throatlatch so that going on the bit is fairly easy for him. I think he
would be super for a serious dressage rider. After only a few sessions
under saddle he already cantered left and right lead several rounds around
the arena, in good balance. He also does nice flying changes when running
and playing. Not all fjords do that as easily. His trot is powerful and
metronome steady.

He has been on the trail in company (not alone so far) and enjoyed that a
lot. Other than that he is a typical fjord - friendly, cuddly, playful,
smart, barn favorite etc.

Asking price $5,000. Elvis is under registration. His sire is OTTAR 388-B
and his dam is ARLA 2218-B. Please email me or call me for additional
information at (206) 245 4189.

months. After I brought him home he made a rather miraculous recovery from a
rather suspicious guy with bad feet to a lovely and willing trail buddy with
great (!) feet! However, although he was very sound for about three months, he
started favoring his left front going up and down our steep trails. He was
examined by our vet, our chiropractor, and our massage therapist and injected,
massaged and adjusted. After three adjustments the chiropractor said he was in
fine shape; after three massages the massage therapist said the only reason to
continue massages is because he enjoyed them so much! The vet diagnosised a
bursis (don't know how it is spelled but it is an injury to and inflammation
of his right pectoral) and put him on Adequan once a week for six weeks with a
follow up injection a month after the sixth injection, light work following
the sixth injection.
Yesterday (after the sixth injection) we put him in one of our pastures which
is accessed by a steep road (he had been in a barn paddock or our arena for
the last six weeks). I noticed he seemed to be favoring his left front again.
ARG!
My vet says he should stay sound with light work if we keep him on the flat.
What flat?!? We are in western NC in the heart of the mountains and don't have
flat.
From 13 horses I have finally gotten down to four, two Fjords and two
Friesians, and now only have three that are ridable (and the Friesians are
both very young and green). My fiance and my son both say we need to find him
a flat home and replace him with another gelding that can be ridden
immediately by novices (them and friends). Intellectually I have to agree with
them as the purpose of getting down to only four horses was so we could all
interact and bond with the ones we have and still have time to ride! But
emotionally I hate to sell this guy after what he has been thru. Although he
has not been here long enough for the rest of the family to forge a bond, I
have. He has had a rough couple of years and I sure don't want to make it any
rougher.
Andrew's foal date is 6/29/94. He is 14.3hh, and his sire is Valea's Lee, dam
is Fair Acres Chloe (Anvil's Torbjorn). He was a much loved stallion at a
breeding farm in (I believe Wisconsin)and was both ridden and driven by the
owner until he had a heart attack. While he was recovering his family
dispersed his herd as he would no longer be able to care for them. He was sold
at auction, gelded, and would have been resold at auction had he and one other
not contracted strangles. So the trader turned him out in the woods and just
let him make or break it on his own.
When I bought him Andrew was alittle aloof and reserved. That lasted about two
weeks. He now has the typical Fjord temperment, calm, thoughtful, willing if
slightly stubborn. He is somewhat affectionate, and very patient. He rides
smoother and more powerfully than my older gelding. When we first started him
on the trails he pulled to the left, but after geeing and hawing him on the
trails along with leg and rein commands he now steers straight lol. We just
worked him in the roundpen this morning and he is still short strided on the
left at a trot, presumably due to yesterday's steep road.
I am pretty sure his injury is due to rough play with my Friesian gelding as
he was trail ridden for a couple months last fall without incident. But it
does not seem he will ever fully recover as long as he has to navigate steep
ground, as he has been rested now for six weeks while being treated with
Adequan. He seems to have no discomfort at a walk, with or without rider.
I would love to see him go to a therapeutic center as he is very patient with
kids and elderly and would probably be the same with handicapped. I purchased
him for $2500, and that is negotiable to a good home. He has great feet, is up
to date on all vaccines and worming, and had his teeth floated shortly after
we got him last fall. He gets along well with other horses (my Friesian
gelding only gets along with another Friesian), and defers to my 22 yo Fjord
in the pasture. Please let me know if you have any interest, and also is you
know of the availability of a good trail Fjord of similar age.
Thanks,
Kim Nord

Handsome Gelding for sale

2006-05-29 Thread fjords
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello Everyone,

Please pass this notice on to your clients that are looking for a gelding.

Mid's Hans C-1703, FAM - K- 1887-G , 7-2-1997 (9 years old) is for sale.

All shots, worming farrier work are current. Dental work was last done in
02/06.

He is trained to ride, drive and draft. He is a beautiful big boy. He stands
15 hands but has the presents that make him look bigger. His movement is
big. He is a gentle giant. His personality is the best. He is very willing
to work in any situation. We have done single cart, pleasure, pairs
pleasure, parades, team harness work in the fields, logging both single and
team, trail riding, arena riding, children's lessons and even some vaulting.

Every year we evaluated which horses will stay and which will be offered for
sale. We feel he is a great gelding and should move on. He and another
gelding were originally purchased as a team and won in Canada in weight
pull, farm work and so on. They were a champion team in Calvary. Han's team
mate has issues that are not safe for just anyone and we will not pass this
fjord on. Hans on the other hand is EXCELLENT.

I always said if I wanted to do dressage, I would take Hans. He has warm
blood movement. Serious buyers only can contact me directly. Hans is being
offered at $6500 obo.

I will be hauling to Blue Earth, MN July 19, 2006. We will have space to
transport him to BE or any stop along the way.

Fjord Gelding for Sale in Nova Scotia, Canada

2006-05-29 Thread Kevin and Verna Mattinson
This message is from: Kevin and Verna Mattinson [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello,

This gelding for sale is a colt that my husband and I raised and sold at a
year and a half
old. The woman who owns and loves him, unfortunately, is going through a
divorce and some financial issues, etc. and she has regretfully decided that
she must part with him. There's a lot going on in her life right now so I
offered to help advertise him for her. He was foaled on August 11, 2001
and has some very nice breeding, particularly on his father's side. His
grandsire is Konggard, who is a son of the famous Myrstein. His registered
name is WFF Ander, but she calls his Klay. Klay is quite tall, much taller
than any of my own so I would think he is 14.2 or 14.3 hh.We had him
here for a few months this winter and he is easy to work with and very
gentle, excellent barn manners, trailers very well, farriers very well,
etc., etc. He has had professional training and quite a bit of work put on
him. The trainer who started him competes in dressage so that is the kind
of start he's had. His owner says he needs a strong rider, a good child
could ride him but he is VERY strong (thru the neck) and needs someone who
won't let him take advantage. He sometimes will give a few little bucks
when asked to move out or into the canter. Then he generally settles right
down. His gaits are smooth and nice. He is definitely more than green
broke. The only problem she's ever had with him is that he is extremely
nervous of vehicles. He's been trail ridden with no problem, although she's
never ridden him with a group of horses, but I don't know why that would be
any problem. He is also had some harness training and has been ground
driven. He just needs someone to give him the time that she no longer can.
There is nothing negative about him, except his fear of vehicles. I think
he just needs someone with some knowledge and experience to overcome that
issue. He is healthy and has had no health or lameness issues or anything
like that to be concerned about. He's been very well cared for and up to
date on vaccinations, wormings, etc. He really is a lovely boy, very
pretty, and has loads of potential. She is asking $5500 CDN. For anyone
who wants more information, please write me and I'll connect you to the
owner or get more information for you, etc. I have some pictures of him I can
send you and she is planning to send me some
better pictures of him and some pictures of him under saddle as well, which
I can also forward to anyone interested.

Thanks,

A sweet gelding for sale from Beaver Dam Farm

2006-05-28 Thread Beaver Dam Farm

This message is from: Beaver Dam Farm [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello Everybody from Carol Rivoire at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia --

It's a wonderful May day here. A few daffodils are still blooming, the
tulips are riotous, and the flowering crabs absolutely breathtaking. We've
had lots of gentle rain, and the grass is high and good. -- We've been
waiting for Holly (Big Holly), as we call her to foal for three days now.
At times, she looks uncomfortable and ready, then she goes back to just
hanging around with a lovely contented look on her face. Absolutely relaxed
with her lower lip hanging loose. She's been waxed up for two days now. --
If Holly foals a colt, since this is our X year (can you imagine?), we've
got the perfect name. He'll be BDF XAVIER, named after the college in
Antigonish town. A wonderful school that's been named the #1 undergraduate
univeristy in all of Canad for the last three years. -- If it's a filly,
then she might be named the feminine form of Xavier -- but I find it awfully
hard to pronounce. Anybody have any suggestions?

I wanted to post today about a sweet gelding we have on consignment
ale. -- His name is TOBY, and he's sired by Felix. Toby was sent to us on
consignment by Pat Wolfe. This is a great looking horse who has the
character and temperament to do anything. -- He's 4 years old and trained
to ride. -- Toby is a dark color with a lovely head and excellent
conformation. Toby has a definite elegance about him. --

As good looking as Toby is, his most important characteristic is his
temperament. It's just wonderful, and makes this horse a great opportunity
for just about anybody. -- In our opinion, Toby is the ideal children's
horse. -- As our two trainers, and all of our interns say, Toby is
totally trustworthy, and has no dirt in him at all. -- A quality that's
much appreciated by riders who expect a horse to behave himself both in the
ring and on the trail.

Toby is doing both flat work and trails. -- He truly is an ideal trail
horse. He'll go out in any position, and is amenable to any and all
directions from his rider. -- He'll stop and hang back while the others go
on. He'll go through water. -- He'll jump logs. -- In the barn, he's
the same. Just a nice, very agreeable horse.

And what's so special about Toby that makes him an ideal candidate for so
many people, is that he's a high quality horse with a great deal of physical
appeal, and at the same time he's very very attractive. -- So, what I'm
saying is that here's a horse that could give a family (everyone in the
family) everything they're looking for, and at the same time he has what it
takes to compete and show.

For more information and to see a lengthy video on Toby, and unusually nice
Fjord, please call Carol at Beaver Dam Farm, or BDF's trainers, Jaimie and
Kelly.

Kindj Regards, Carol Rivoire

EX in Latin means out of (even in horse language, and is often used to
denote the dam) so you could use Xholly (out of Holly).

Hi everyone, hope this gets through this time. Napolean (Our name for him,
his Registered name is Bushwhacker's Mr Tea out of Thorson A2Z and Grandson of
the Great ThorA2z!) ...He's that great to be around and that Gorgeous. He's
very calm with no vices. At 3 years old, he bathes, trims, loads, patience, and
manners of a much older horse. As I've said, on June 8th (we have to commit by
the 29th!) we are taking him to Lufkin, Tx to a Specialty Horse Sale, where I
know he will sell, but to who??? Also, even though there are a very few in
Texas, I don't want him to try to indure this coming heat(unless of course some
Texan has a much better facility than I! Guys I can't make you understand what
a Gentleman he is. Make us a reasonable offer and we will sell to a good home
or reputable broker. We are also having more health problems and need to sell
him right away. He is very healthy and everyone that sees him (including the
Old Die Hard Ranchers, can't believe how
beautiful he is! They just don't understand what he's capable of as all of you
do! You will be extremely pleased with his companionship and his intelligence!

will be incredibly easy to finish by someone who knows what they are doing.
First offer of $1800.00 or more,(you guys have to know he's worth MUCH more
than that!) (not including transportation), will buy him if done right away.
All health records up to date Thanks for your time and interest in advance,
and any questions please email us asap. (Please don't ask again, what's wrong
with him, why are you willing to sell him so Cheap. We've put alot of time
and love in him and it shows Big Time!!! Thanks again everyone, and the
Testament below from Gene and Ruth Bushnell, (which should carry alot of
weight!), is very much appreciated. They certainly know
what they are doing and know a special Horse when they see one, certainly
better than I when it comes to Fjords! Again, after 35 years of training and
raising Quarter Horses, I've never had a Horse that was more a pleasure to be
around!

We can't say enough good about this boy, highly recommend him! He's out of
Quad-L's Teal, Dustin's first daughter (mother of Honi) and he was such an
impressive colt. This is a buy of a lifetime. All you brokers, you could double
your money on him easily.. ! His sire, A2Z Thorson, is a descendant of Hjerter
Knaegt, (that you have often heard Carol highly praise.) This is his pedigree:

Hi Laurie,
Sorry to hear that you are selling OZ, though I commend you in making
the decision you think is right for both of you. Finne is 14.3 and
is quite a powerful boy and although he is not spooky at all and well
behaved, he is a lot of horse to ride. I'm sure Oz is a lot of horse
also. Good luck on your quest for a smaller fjord - whatever it
takes to stay in the saddle. In the long run, riding will probably
be great for keeping those leg muscles strong.

gelding for sale, hard decision

2006-05-09 Thread CrystalZak
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

as you all probably know, oz has been at my trainers since i had my knee
replacement. he is doing quite well on his weight loss program, and is being
ridden 3 times a week. he's been there for a month since i had my surgery, and
when i saw him over the weekend, he looked really good. and she works on his
ground manners and everything, so he is improving all the way around.

this is hard, but i am thinking i am going to sell him. not that he isn't a
great, loveable, endearing boy. but with my knee being done, and knowing that
i
am going to have the other done this fall, i feel a lot more vulnerable than
i did before. i really feel like if i were 20 years  younger (i will be 60
this year) i would have no problems riding him, but i feel like i need an
older,
smaller horse to feel secure. he still has his spooky moments (still can't
tolerate plastic bags), and i am still basically a timid rider. i love him
dearly, but it's not fair to him to just hang out in the pasture when he's
such a
good horse.

i am not giving up on fjords, however. i am looking for a very quiet,
bomproof, babysitter type horse, mare or gelding, doesn't matter, that i can
just
putter around my pasture and hay fields with. i want something smaller than
oz,
who at 15 solid hands, is really the upper end of the fjord size chart. i am
hoping for under 14 hands, drafty style. patti jo has a wonderful little mare
on
her site, and though she's probably already sold, i know there are others out
there like that.

this is hard, but i think it's right for both of us.

as for his stats, as i said, he's 15 hands, brown dun, fairly drafty, his
registered name is oslo gull, so you can look him up. he has had dressage
experience before i got him, he also rides western, and if you have been to
blue
earth the last two years, you know he can do a wicked trot in the barrels. he
is
good with everything - farrier, bathing, had his teeth done once,
chiropractor,
i have ridden him bareback, he's lived with other critters including horses,
goats, geese, ducks, and my husband, who although he had good intentions,
overfed him last winter which led to his weight gain. he is losing the weight
at
my trainers through the combination of working steadily and the balance of
vitamins, minerals and probiotics she has added to his diet, along with small
amounts of straight grass hay. he has a very endearing attitude, a kind eye
and a
massive forelock.

if you would like any more information, feel free to email me.

thanks

laurie, who will miss the big guy a lot, but wants him to be happy, and knows
he is better when he's working more than i can do right now

as you can see he is the grandson of the well known stallion Dustin, through
