Issue regarding radius logs dialup admin
Greetings, I have just replaced my old radius server with FreeRadius dialup admin. The authorization works perfectly and everyone can log in but however I cant see any statistics about the persons that are logged in. The Statistics page of the dialup admin returns the correct number of session but no information regarding the total usage time and the downloads. The Failed logins page is working as it should. The accounting page only returns information about failed logins while the page for each user does not return any statistics apart the failed connection attempts. (For example It returns that the user has never logged in even though he is currently online) Same for User Statistics that return nothing. The radius.conf contains the following: prefix = /usr/local exec_prefix = ${prefix} sysconfdir = /etc localstatedir = /var sbindir = ${exec_prefix}/sbin logdir = ${localstatedir}/log/radius raddbdir = ${sysconfdir}/raddb radacctdir = ${logdir}/radacct confdir = ${raddbdir} run_dir = ${localstatedir}/run/radiusd log_file = ${logdir}/radius.log libdir = ${exec_prefix}/lib pidfile = ${run_dir}/radiusd.pid user = radius group = radius max_request_time = 30 delete_blocked_requests = no cleanup_delay = 5 max_requests = 1024 bind_address = * port = 0 hostname_lookups = no allow_core_dumps = no regular_expressions = yes extended_expressions= yes log_stripped_names = no log_auth = yes log_auth_badpass = yes log_auth_goodpass = yes usercollide = no lower_user = no lower_pass = no nospace_user = no nospace_pass = no checkrad = ${sbindir}/checkrad security { max_attributes = 200 reject_delay = 1 status_server = no } proxy_requests = yes $INCLUDE ${confdir}/proxy.conf $INCLUDE ${confdir}/clients.conf snmp= yes $INCLUDE ${confdir}/snmp.conf thread pool { start_servers = 5 max_servers = 32 min_spare_servers = 3 max_spare_servers = 10 max_requests_per_server = 0 } modules { pap { encryption_scheme = clear } chap { authtype = CHAP } pam { pam_auth = radiusd } unix { cache = no cache_reload = 600 radwtmp = ${logdir}/radwtmp } eap { default_eap_type = md5 timer_expire = 60 md5 { } leap { } } mschap { authtype = MS-CHAP } ldap { server = ldap.your.domain basedn = o=My Org,c=UA filter = (uid=%{Stripped-User-Name:-%{User-Name}}) start_tls = no access_attr = dialupAccess dictionary_mapping = ${raddbdir}/ldap.attrmap ldap_connections_number = 5 timeout = 4 timelimit = 3 net_timeout = 1 } realm realmslash { format = prefix delimiter = / } realm suffix { format = suffix delimiter = @ } realm realmpercent { format = suffix delimiter = % } preprocess { huntgroups = ${confdir}/huntgroups hints = ${confdir}/hints with_ascend_hack = no ascend_channels_per_line = 23 with_ntdomain_hack = no with_specialix_jetstream_hack = no with_cisco_vsa_hack = no } files { usersfile = ${confdir}/users acctusersfile = ${confdir}/acct_users compat = no } detail { detailfile = ${radacctdir}/%{Client-IP-Address}/detail-%Y%m%d detailperm = 0600 } detail auth_log { detailfile = ${radacctdir}/%{Client-IP-Address}/auth-detail-Y%m%d detailperm = 0600 } detail reply_log { detailfile = ${radacctdir}/%{Client-IP-Address}/reply-detail-%Y%m%d detailperm = 0600 } acct_unique { key = User-Name, Acct-Session-Id, NAS-IP-Address, Client-IP-Address, NAS-Port-Id } $INCLUDE ${confdir}/sql.conf radutmp { filename = ${logdir}/radutmp username = %{User-Name} case_sensitive = yes check_with_nas = yes perm = 0600 callerid = yes } radutmp sradutmp { filename = ${logdir}/sradutmp perm = 0644 callerid = no } attr_filter { attrsfile = ${confdir}/attrs } counter daily { filename = ${raddbdir}/db.daily key

Freeradius + Mysql + Dialup Admin problem
Hello everyone and sorry cause this is gonna be a little bit long , I am having a problem making Freeradius , Dialup Admin and Mysql work correctly . I am using Freeradius v 0.8.1 and mysql verion 3.23.49 in a RedHat 7.3 Linux . I had no problem setting up radius to work authenticating from users file , and from mysql using a very good tutorial from http://www.frontios.com/freeradius.html; . After I installed and start using Dialup Admin I can't get it to work. The passwords stored in mysql are encrypted in a strange way . For example using crypt encryption the password stored in the database is this :$1$JLBPzLpM$hHtpEcBBpJiuzxs7RLr1P0 After learning a little bit about crypt and md5 encryption I can say that this doesn't look correct to me . I run the following little script for the same password and using st as salt for the encryption . perl -e 'print crypt( asd123, st),\n;' stn/LmaCw8SMU I changed a little bit the ./lib/crypt/crypt.php3 in order to give me the correct encrypted password but it still doesn't work . I use the radtest program to check the authentication . Here is the log I get when running radiusd -X : ---RadiusLog-- rad_recv: Access-Request packet from host 127.0.0.1:1033, id=211, length=56 User-Name = szax User-Password = asd123 NAS-IP-Address = 255.255.255.255 NAS-Port = 11 modcall: entering group authorize modcall[authorize]: module preprocess returns ok rlm_realm: No '@' in User-Name = szax, looking up realm NULL rlm_realm: No such realm NULL modcall[authorize]: module suffix returns noop radius_xlat: 'szax' rlm_sql (sql): sql_set_user escaped user -- 'szax' radius_xlat: 'SELECT id,UserName,Attribute,Value,op FROM radcheck WHERE Username = 'szax' ORDER BY id' rlm_sql (sql): Reserving sql socket id: 4 rlm_sql_mysql: query: SELECT id,UserName,Attribute,Value,op FROM radcheck WHERE Username = 'szax' ORDER BY id radius_xlat: 'SELECT radgroupcheck.id,radgroupcheck.GroupName,radgroupcheck.Attribute,radgroupcheck.Value,radgroupcheck.op FROM radgroupcheck, usergroup WHERE usergroup.Username = 'szax' AND usergroup.GroupName = radgroupcheck.GroupName ORDER BY radgroupcheck.id' rlm_sql_mysql: query: SELECT radgroupcheck.id,radgroupcheck.GroupName,radgroupcheck.Attribute,radgroupcheck.Value,radgroupcheck.op FROM radgroupcheck, usergroup WHERE usergroup.Username = 'szax' AND usergroup.GroupName = radgroupcheck.GroupName ORDER BY radgroupcheck.id radius_xlat: 'SELECT id,UserName,Attribute,Value,op FROM radreply WHERE Username = 'szax' ORDER BY id' rlm_sql_mysql: query: SELECT id,UserName,Attribute,Value,op FROM radreply WHERE Username = 'szax' ORDER BY id radius_xlat: 'SELECT radgroupreply.id,radgroupreply.GroupName,radgroupreply.Attribute,radgroupreply.Value,radgroupreply.op FROM radgroupreply, usergroup WHERE usergroup.Username = 'szax' AND usergroup.GroupName = radgroupreply.GroupName ORDER BY radgroupreply.id' rlm_sql_mysql: query: SELECT radgroupreply.id,radgroupreply.GroupName,radgroupreply.Attribute,radgroupreply.Value,radgroupreply.op FROM radgroupreply, usergroup WHERE usergroup.Username = 'szax' AND usergroup.GroupName = radgroupreply.GroupName ORDER BY radgroupreply.id rlm_sql (sql): Pairs do not match for user [szax] rlm_sql (sql): Released sql socket id: 4 modcall[authorize]: module sql returns notfound modcall: group authorize returns ok auth: No authenticate method (Auth-Type) configuration found for the request: Rejecting the user auth: Failed to validate the user. dialup admin
I'm getting a strange behaviour from the dialup admin code where the $login value does not get set when I put in the user name and click show user in the user_admin.php3. Its strange because I can see the value that I inserted in the field because it shows up in my URL, but in the code itself the $login value is ''. I am running the page on the Apache 1.3.27 web server and PHP 4.2.3 with the Netscape web browser. Has anyone else seen this behaviour. I need to get this working so that I can test the Oracle support that I added. Thanks. Adam Joncas - List info/subscribe/unsubscribe? See http://www.freeradius.org/list/users.html

Dialup admin
Hello, a little question when using dialup admin On conf/admin.conf there's a line with the encryption method, called general_encryption_method: crypt When I change to clear, what I was expecting is that the dialup admin interface could work with clear text password, stored at radcheck table as attribute password, instead of crypt-password... Am I wrong? Anyway, if this is the expected behaviour, it's not happening... Even when I change this on admin.conf file it keeps on working with crypted-passwords... And I would like to work on this really nice interface with cleartext passwords.. Am I doing something wrong ? On Mon, 3 Jun 2002, Deramus, Chris wrote: Does it print out any messages? If you try adding a new user what happens? Do you have problem seeing the accounting information or everything? If you try to administer an active account, does it report that it didn't find it or does it show the user administration page ok? The page to load fine. I click the Edit Users section on the left frame and it says user not found. I do a search for user 'TestRad' (which does exist cause I'm currently logged in as him on my laptop) and it says User does not exist. The accounting page shows my attributes and gives me the selection to choose from, but when I hit the submit button it just resets the values and doesn't display anything (including error messages). When I had enter new user information on the Add User section, and then hit the enter button the information disappears and that entry isn't added to the database. So it takes the column information from the database but doesn't find anything in the accounting table. That seems strange. If you do a 'SELECT UserName FROM radacct LIMIT 10' will it give you any results? Could you send the sql_* config directives from the admin.conf (apart from the sql password of course). It doesn't display any active accounts even though I'm currently logged on right now. If you do a 'SELECT UserName from radacct WHERE AcctStartTime = '0'' what does it show when you are loged in? The admin.conf allows you to do a finger to the nas (that only works for cisco access servers currently) or just use the information provided from the accounting database. Which of the two have you enabled? Dialup Admin question
I know this service is mainly for Free Radius questions but I figured since this product was written for FreeRadius that someone on here has had experience using it. I have FreeRadius successfully working with MySQL for Authorization and PAP for authentication. The system works great and I'm very happy. I'm now trying to bring a web front online for added administration convenience. I have Dialup Admin installed and it seems to be working fine, however it's not pulling any information from the MySQL database and tables. I've looked over the admin.conf file many a times and short of the basic configuration changes are there any major changes that any of you had to make before this would begin to work. Thanks, Chris DeRamus HQ VPN Administrator Verizon 301-903-2093

RE: Dialup Admin question
Title: RE: Dialup Admin question Does it print out any messages? It doesn't display any active accounts even though I'm currently logged on right now. Thanks, Chris DeRamus HQ VPN Administrator Verizon 301-903-2093
Dialup-Admin
When Apache was initially set up during the Caldera OpenLinux installation the default php extension was set to just php rather than php3. So I renamed all of the dialup-admin files to have a php extension and I edited them all replacing php3 with php. Everything appears to be working for the most part; radiusd, MySQL, and Apache are all running. But when I try to use the Dialup_Admin I ran into some problems: When I click on: Accounting: cannot connect to sql databse Problem line appears to be $link = da_sql_pconnect($config) or die... Obviously the script is unable to open a persistent connection to the MySQL db. Any ideas? Edit User: Could not connect to database. New User: Could not connect to database. Check Server: Could not connect to database. I have changed the sql_username and sql_password in admin.conf. Can MySQL usernames have an underscore in them? The MySQL user that I set up for radius was dialup_admin, could this be the problem? Clearly I'm missing something big (not unusual). Are these problems related to my tinkering around with the file extensions? Thanks much. ~ Jason - List info/subscribe/unsubscribe? See http://www.freeradius.org/list/users.html

Re: Dialup-Admin
When I change the following line in accounting.php: $link = @da_sql_pconnect($config) or die... to $link = mysql_pconnect(localhost, username, password) or die... I can connect to the db and the accounting page works just fine. A problem with my config file? A problem with this @da_sql_pconnect function? (I can't seem to find it referenced at php.net so I'm assuming it's a function somewhere in the dialup-admin stuff but I can't find it. I'm just looking for some suggestions folks.
