Dear friends,

How you all celebrated Christmas ?? Hope it was a wonderful time for all.
This year it was something very special and beautiful in Sri Lanka. You

from
my eyes Thank to God this Christmas was beautiful than any previous one

And back to real life, Next year budgets are ready and have to be fully

[JOYnet] pearls !!!!!!!

2002-12-05 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose
Hi friends,

These days We can see lot of personal sharing in Joy net. Really it is
inspiring
for me to lead a Christian life Really feel like and in a loving and
spirit filled
community. If more of you write your daily experiences it will inspire and
challenge
all of us to lead a fruitful life..

Is is it our cuckoo earlier used to fight with all of us :) wow!!! Now
talking
like a Theologian see what she is saying ... "we need to share about what
really
happened in history ... the whole story of the Bible, which will finally
point to
Christ as the Saviour. From "In the Beginning ... to ...Come, Lord Jesus"!
We need to believe that God exists, that nature AND science too reveals
His presence, that He'd promised a Saviour through His prophets and in the
fullness of time that SON came and died for our sins, that we are sinners
(hard)
and that we needed a Saviour outside of ourselves. "

Rijo's College prayer group experiences, Specially ' Christmas cake'
experience is really motivating all of us to do some parish out reach's :)

Vimal explains " Don't keep rules for prayers and prayer request 'coz u
can't give
anything better than that to our friends."

from Biji Thomas "LET US WALK, WHAT WE TALK " really a challenge to all.

Dr. Sindhu what you told is correct. ".."Be careful how you live your life,
because your life may be the only Gospel some people may get to read."
Being the 5th Gospel is really challenging and with out God's special grace we
can't fulfill that mission.

Sajith your mail about Indian saint is really informative, Now only I came to
know the name of one and only Indian Saint.... Who will be the next Indian
saint
A real challenge for Joynetters from India !!

Re: [JOYnet] thoughts on JOYnet

2002-12-02 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose
Hi friends,

Now having more than 1000 members and 4 years life Joy net
is very strong group which have roots in so many countries. If we
take Jesus youth International, Joynet is the link between each
countries and regions and this stands as the strong pillar for other
Jesus youth International activities.

As Matthew suggested we have to think, pray, discuss and clarify
the VISION of Joynet End of the day we have to achieve that vision.
We can think 3 dimensions of Joynet Vision :

World Youth Evangelization :

Jesus Youth can be the leading spirit of the 3 rd millennium, If all youth,
Asian, African, European and American under one spirit, Jesus youth spirit,
singing halleluah, praising Jesus & changing face of this youth world…..
It is my dream about JY for the 3 rd millennium & And this Joynet having
1000 strong members from 5 continents we can be the strongest net work
in the world youth evangelization. We always dreamed impossible things
and now it is happening in India, UAE, America, Singapore etc Now we
should look on World as a zone or a local area…. If we think world is too
big then we can't cover it… we can see world is just Asia, America, Africa &
Europe . So why are we waiting ??? Stop thinking regional vise
or national vise… Think global….. I support Globalization…. Globalization
of Jesus & Jesus youth…. Joy net can be the strong platform for this
world evangelization.

To strengthen Jesus Youth net work : Jesus Youth is now global youth group.
We are planning JY International gatherings, JY International full timers,
So many other projects so we can use Joynet as our strong supporting
group. We have to organize all this programmes, find resources including
fund, mobilization etc can be done through Joynet. We can do our faith
formation, follow up of international programmes though Joynet.

Personal growth : As Sheril Daniel commented Personal growth also part
of this group. we can't avoid any areas in our life. Job, finance, life
partner
all necessary in our life. If we can share about our dryness in spiritual
life in the Joynet then same like that we can share about other difficulties
also (Eg: Difficulties to find out a life partner too he he he :) But we have
to avoid the situation somebody trying to misuse this facility
we need a personal touch each other then nobody can misuse this facilities.

Are we giving enough time for Joynet ??? Anybody is monitoring all mails ???
Anybody in Joynet core team or service team can claim they read 100 %
email circulated in Joynet We have to think all things seriously.
Over to you Matthew & others for discussion.

With Love, Suresh

2002-11-30 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose
Hi freinds,

Prejomy, your sharing is really beautiful and touching... Thanks for sharing
this with us. Like you we also start praying for more sufferings, at least
we try to
be happy in our daily suffering, thanks for teaching this lesson.

Jancy Joshy's stories also really interesting. We hope your husband attened the
Jesus youth program and he is happy about that.

When I read KG Mathews mail I remember our bangalore JOY net gathering. We
all were really happy to see the real face of that 30 joynetters. That time
we found
our Mathew (Joynet cordinator) so younger than we thought, after getting
his advises
we thought he is an old animator, but we found he is just in his 40's. Then
there
were so many interesting finding that days.

One small suggestion is it is very difficult to identify every one from
email address so
please make sure you write your name and place with each mails you send to
joynet,

Hope more guys will start wiring there experiences in joynet,

2002-11-22 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose
Hi all,

What Vimal and Mary shared is correct we need not spend our time and energy to
discuss others mistakes. Whether it is bishop or a neighbor we can't judge them
for what they are doing. Our Binoy might not intended to criticize anybody
when he
forward that message. One good thing is Binoy is reading some Christian
magazines
and getting informations, good benoy, But when you forward any mails pls
think 2 times
because our Joynet it a very big group now we dont know it may some times
misleading some of our members.

:) then Benoy one thing where did u got that heading ???

Ok guys Christmas season, what are the plans for celebrating Christmas
Any ideas
for e-celebration of Christmas???

Hello all,

I aggry with Ms : Mary Jacobs. It is our call to reform church but that
reformation does not come by criticising the church or giving head to
untoward critisism. Most of us expect high standards from our priest and
ofcourse we must do so. But we always undermine the fact they are also human
beings like us. What have they got that we haven't ? What they lack that we
have ? We all have equal reward in the glory of christ. remeber the fable of
the farmer who employed workers at differen times of the day and gave them
all the same reward.( I can't imagine sharing the same reward as that of
st:paul when i'm there, this always baffles me:) ).

Let's not undermine the fact that they are humans when we critisice them nor
attribute them with super human credentials. When i think of fathers the
first thing that always comes to mind is the sacrifice that they have made
for the church and for the chirst in disowning a life long companionship.
Have we ever tried to look into the life of our priest where some leave in
utter lonliness and despair but still strugle to keep their commitment to
the church. Have we seen old priest harrowing there time with no one to
share with. Inspite of all this they struggle to keep their commitment to
christ and church.

And when at times they fail or seems to fail we all pound on them to tear
them apart. How cruel it for us to do that. And who is the one who shout at
them. The very people who enjoy all the pleasures of life and still in their
greediness look out for 'greener pastures' (sorry i don't want to sound
accusing). Just tink of each one of us who are raised and are in the family
but still find difficult keep our holiness and commitment to GOD.

How greater must be their struggles in comparison with us.

Each time we laity open our mouth to critisice the clergy remeber that they
ar not likes but facing stonger struggles and are attacked more powerfully
by satan 'coz he know when he gets a priest he can take along with him a
whole parish.

So it becomes our duty to pray for them more and more rather than standing
back and criticising them.

Remember they give birth to jesus every day in holy mass
Remember when they say ur sins are forgiven our sins are forgiven
And Remember this is what they are called for and these things happen not
'coz of the standard of their life but by the anoinment from God.

WARNING ! (I really mean this)
Thing twice before criticising a preist the anointed of the mos holy ONE, ur
r confronting god.

ERRATA
This is not directed towards any individual but just expressing my anguish
on this matter.

Let's all pray that god gives us more wisdom to appreciate priesthood and
love our priests.

God bless u all

Hi Friends,

Forgive me but I don't think we should pay much attention to articles such
as these. While it may be true that this has happened, it does us no good
(nor the church for that matter) to read & dwell on these types of matters.
By doing that, we are only feeding into the media's gross invitation to mock
the Catholic church. Perhaps this priest did make a mistake but who are we
to judge. This whole incident is not relevant to our spiritual growth or to
our faith and morale as Catholics in any way. I'm sure the powers that be
in Rome fuelled by the wisdom of the Holy Father will resolve this issue and
we need not think, worry or talk about it.

I mean no offense to anyone but please in the future, let's really think
about what we're posting. If it's not to anyone's benefit or advantage (in
terms of spiritual growth) then perhaps we should think twice before we send
it to everyone, especially with a title such as this. Thanks for listening
and God bless,..-Mary (Calgary, Canada)

Re: [JOYnet] Horoscope and Holy Spirit

2002-11-22 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose
Dear Friends,

I was closely watching (of course reading) all mails about vasthu,
horoscope etc. From my early ages itself i never believed any of
these things... Vasthu, Time, Horoscope, stars, So many beliefs
related to this.

In our homes so many belive when you go for a journey or good
things don't look back or step back because you may not success
in that trip. there are good time/bad times to do things, While somebody
is eating you can't say good bye and leave that family, then how to eat,
how to dress, when you start your vehicle in the morning first you have
to take vehicle little forward then only reverse other vise you might
meet with an accident, Then there are good days and bad days,
good months and bad months (in Malayalam karkidakam is not
good for wedding), good colors and bad colors, then matching of stars..
If you just look around and inside you can see so many beliefs like this
where all this came from May be we got it from parents &
from friends Is it useful or will it make any harm for us???

From my personal experience I have few things to share with you.
if you belive all this these may become relevant but if you dont
belive then none of this can affect your life. I never belive any of
above things, Time, place, days, months, persons, everything is
made by Our God and he saw everything beautiful and good.
My parents believed that it is not good to step back when we
go for journey... But i made it very clear by steps back each
time I go for good things and made it clear in mind there is
nothing like that. We being Jesus youth I think we should not
spread this kind of beliefs. When we plan our wedding
(for married some other good events), or go for a journey, build
a house, we should not follow this kind of things If God is
supreme then times, days or stars can't do anything to harm you.
This may be difficult for some people to accept. Even in Catholic
magazines and news papers we can see horoscope these kind
of things slowly change our mentality and beliefs and its
dangerous than known evils.

One funny thing is here many of my friends can't belive that
when I told I don't know my star. My star is Christmas star and it is Jesus.

I was a firm believer of horoscopes 2 years ago!I
always used to read my Zodiac signs and I firmly
followed them.I was so fond of this, that I collected
many articles and books on this topic.I went one step
further and started reading palms of my friends with
my 'knowledge'.They said many things came true.Ah! I
became very popular among my friends and seniors. Then
one day,I came across a book "Blessings or curses,You
can choose" by Derek Prince,a famous Evangelist. An
incident in this book touched me deeply.
(Derek Prince was preaching in a hall, and he noticed a
sad young man among the audience.Later he went up to
the man and asked him why was he sad.The young man
said,"Everybody here receives the Holy Spirit during
praise and worship, but I don't."So Derek prayed for

it"Derek replied"will you commit adultery and say it
was for fun,you didn't mean it?Repent my son"the young
man repented and in the next session he was anointed
with the Holy Spirit.)
I was very moved by reading this.I used to go to
various retreats, but I always saw that everybody
around me spoke in tongues and was touched by God in
many ways but I never had any such experience..I mean
I was left very dry, untouched and I used to ask Jesus
with tears in my eyes"Why God,not me?I want to know
your Holy Spirit."Whenever anybody mentioned about
horoscope,I used to say,I don't believe in it,but just
for fun.now I knew this was no fun. There was a prayer
at the end of the book asking for forgiveness from
God.I knelt down in front of the Crucfixion icon and
started praying.When I came to a sentence"I commit
myself to destroy all objects.."I felt as if somebody
had caught my tongue.I started the prayer again and
when I came to that particular sentence, again that tie
was there.I started a 3rd time and when I reached that
sentence I began to cry.Now I knew something was
wrong.suddenly I remembered the various books and
articles I had in possession about horoscope.I got up
and immeditely took all of them out and threw them
into the dustbin. Then I started to say the prayer
again.I finished the prayer smoothly and then burst
into tears bcoz I felt as if some kind of burden was
lifted away from me...I was free of some bondage. That

Hi friends,

Life is beautiful !!!

When Jesus is with me life is beautiful !!!
Because He is My Lord.

When I am with Jesus Life is beautiful !!!
Because I am walking towards Eternal Life.

When I am not with Jesus life is beautiful !!
because still He is with me.

Even though I fall into sin everyday, I face many problems daily,
My boss fired me last week, I failed in my exams,
I face financial difficulties, My friends misunderstood me...
Still Life is beautiful...
Because I want My life to be beautiful...
And with Jesus I can make this life beautiful

[JOYnet] Life is beautiful !!!

2002-05-12 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi friends,

Life is beautiful !!!

Why life is beautiful
There are many things coming into mind.. let me start with few
experiences...

Everywhere it is War & Terrorism and war against Terrorism
CNN, BBC, Sky news, Foxnews or any Tv channels you get this peice
of news... India you get Gujrat, Middle east you get Palestine issues,
Nepal you get Maoists, Sri Lanka you get Tamil issues, Taliban, IRA,
Al Fatah, Jihad, Hamas, Japaneese Red Armay, ETA, PKK, list is going on...
If you take religions there also problems, In kerala itself we have
time long issues on various things like liturgy, etc, politics is
hopeless anywhere... Globalism, International trade, World bank, etc.
Attack on a building in New York is affecting a family in the remote
village of Assam or Bihar but same time a million dollar profit for
the neighbor might not give that family any benefit.. Everywhere
you can see unrest among the people. Still life is beautiful

Like to share few things coming into Mind. We Joynet members
are scattered all around the world. unless like other JY communities
we are not from a particular place, job or situation... many of us
are alone in their country or City (I mean no other Jy's around).
this part of sharing specially for them... for my friends who are away
from their home, far away from their parents and loving ones.

No Man can Live as an Island
Journeying through the life alone

Last few days I was feeling so lonely... Where else can we share
all this feelings... Being in this community for more than 3 years
I feel this is the place we can get the real love, help, spiritual
support etc. My job is like operating from my house itself
and not much works always so in literal meaning here I am alone.
That's is the reason these days thinking the worthiness of
being with friends, Being in a Community, Being with family etc.

God created this world in a beautiful harmony...Where we all can
live as a community...where nobody is alone...Family ties are most
important in our life. My father, Mother, their sufferings
for me, How they managed to support all our way, They gave
everything for us, My sister, brother, their love for me,
How much they care for me... (My wife, kids don't know
how to explain this part... Some married guys can explain)...
Yes experincing all this... Life is beautiful... Something
very beautiful right

Friends - My memories going back to college days, The
friendships we will remember till the end of our life
My college days I got my best friends... still we are best
friends and when ever in kerala I spend my time with them.
Those days we worked for Jesus youth with whole heart.
We have a three men Army there me, James & Binu (we are
best freinds for last 12 years) Last month I went to
home for just two days out of that one day I spend time
with these JY friends... yes life is beautiful...

Today I am stopping here with a small prayer.

LORD JESUS I THANK YOU FOR MY PARENTS, BROTHERS & SISTERS,
THANK YOU FOR THE LOVING FRIENDS AND COMMUNITIES AROUND ME.
WHEN I AM ALONE BE WITH ME AS MY FATHER, MOTHER, SISTER
(HUSBAND,WIFE) AND AS MY CLOSE FRIEND BECAUSE I DONT WANT
TO BE ALONE LORD THIS LIFE WONT BE BEAUTIFUL WITH OUT
MY PARENTS, BROTHERS, SISTERS (HUSBAND, WIFE, KIDS)...
EVEN IF I AM ALONE LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL...BECAUSE YOU ARE WITH ME

With Love,
Suresh

[JOYnet] HIiiiii

2002-04-05 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi joy world,

How are you all Hey I am missing in action always sorry yaa.
happy to see many are active in discussions and sharing.

Sunday going to kerala for some official purpose so please
keep me in your prayers. This trip is very important one and
need your prayer support. I will try to meet or at least call
if there is any joy net pals around cochin, TVM, Trichur etc.
Pls mail me your number.

Hey there is one silly thought coming in my mind. In this modern
world we are discovering many new things. Many wonders of 19th
century man is not at all a wonder for us. Only few centuries
back Man realized Earth is not flat one... So like many of this
if one fine day If scientists prove that there is nobody called
Jesus lived in Palestine on 1st century and it was a story or
mith like mahabarath or ramayana... what will you do
Will you still belive in Jesus

It is silly question... Just try to answer if you have time.

2002-03-15 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi friends,

almost all discussions and reading mails not getting time to write.
I am working for a new project and next few weeks i will be busy

experience.

Then Sri Lanka is now moving towards Peace and prosperity. last day
prime Minister Visited Jafana which is a historical event. After
this Civil war started nobody dared to visit jafana and Mr. Ranil
done it. Please pray for my Sri Lanka.

[JOYnet] Book Shelf #1

2002-02-27 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi buddies,

Like to introduce few books. All can join this effort I always remember
behind all my achievements there were some books. Feel like... "Books help
me to dream and dreams motivate to achieve" So here are some books I
touched and touched me...

#1. THE PASSION OF JESUS And its hidden Meaning - Fr. James Groenings SJ
(Tan Books and Publishers)

"They have dug my hands and feet. They have numbered all my bones.
And they have looked and stared upon me. They parted my garments
amoungest them; and upon my vesture they cast lots." Pslam 21: 17-19

It's beautiful story on the sufferings of our redeemer, But it is
rather an explanation of the History of the passion... fairly big book
with 34 chapters starting from Sufferings of Christ's soul in the garden
of olives. Its simple and easy to meditate Useful for this Season of
Lent too...

'O all ye that pass by the way attend, and see if there be any sorrow
like my sorrow'

Please feel free to write about books touched you...

With Love, Suresh

[JOYnet] Some doubts !!!!

2002-02-25 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi all,

Hope you all are doing fine. I have a important issue for discussion :-

Like to know what is the meaning of

01. Eldering
02. Pastoring
03. Counsiling.

This is widely used amoung our groups etc, is it a necessary thing to
have a pastor or elder . What is their qualification? what if a Elder or
Pastor later misuse this personal sharings???

Is it a healthy practice to share our personal things to other who have
similar probelms

please share your views on this to JOYNET.

[JOYnet] Christmas time !!!!

2001-12-18 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi Joy world,

Miss you all last few days. There was some problems with My connection to
Internet and God. That's why you didn't see any mails from me. Still there
are some problem with my connection.. Hope to repair it soon. So how are
you all doing?? Thanks to all initiators for discussions.

Now just 6 more days for X mas ! Here everywhere in Festival mood.
Eventhough only 10 % of the population is Christians all celebrate Xmas
here in Lanka. Next 2 weeks you can't go to any shopping centers everywhere
you can see shopping crowds and long Queaue. You can see various sales
promotion by Supermarkets, FM's, MNC's like KFC, McDonald, Pizza etc etc
Offices wont be working since most of the staff will be on vacation...
it was general Election here and opposition UNP formed the new Govt.
Everybody was expecting this change so all are happy...

Here in my parish we are preparing for X mas in a nice way. Everyday after
the Evening mass we all come out from the Church and there is a decorated
Crib in from of Church. We all sing carols and light decoration bulbs there.
Everyday we continue it with creativity. My parish crowd is very spiritual
people and weekdays also we have a good crowd in the church. Our daily mass
is in Sinhala so learning few Sinhala Carol songs these days.

party time : Yes it is party time here... For bachelors like me who is
staying alone would know the value of a good meal... These days all my
friends are arranging X mas party. So 2 cool weeks are waiting for me.
Thanks to Xmas and new year.

hey friends It is X mas time and Let's start merry making Can
you all share some joyful X mas memories from childhood... Elders like
Mathew, Manoj etc you can share experience from your Youth days.
We need some joyful Xmas memories All are welcome... Also please
write how you all celebrate X mas in your place.. other than eating,
drinking and Going to Church.

Few lines about Christmas in Colombo. Christmas Night start with carols
at 10.00 Pm and Holy mass will be celebrated in three languages. Important
prayers, Homily, songs will be in all three languages (English, Sinhala &
Tamil). So it will take more time than our mass in India. But it is a
beautiful
time where all races stand together in front of God with unity.

Expecting many Christmas mails these days

Luv you all,
Suresh

[JOYnet] Discussion on prolife !!

2001-12-03 Thread Suresh Kumat T. Jose

Hi friends,

Happy to open Joynet these days.

Welcome back Giju & Rose.. why one week delay after marriage
We were expecting your mail from last Monday onwards. Anyway Giju & Rose
proved that they are not like others. Many of our freinds were missing
in action after marriage. Now our Mr. & Mrs. Webmaster is back in Joynet...
We are really proud of you.

PS: Rose it is shame to ask public fund for honey moon also it is
a crime

Our discussion on prolife is on a turning Point after Lina's mail on
this issue. It is really wonderful mail and she explains various issues
regarding this. Also see the mails from Joby Thomas, Sheril, Rose, Kripa etc

Just read the interesting points came out in this discussion...

Lina Mathew - (Law Post Graduate Student -Bangalore)
"our God is a  God of justice , 'who gives rain to  the just and the
unjust',  and God has given man, (who is created in His image and
likeness and endowed with all rights) every right to  enjoy total
freedom -- freedom to follow the devil or Him. "

Joby Thomas -
" Remember when God asked Cane about his brother and he in reply
asked God whether he was his brother's caretaker... God replied,
"Your brother's blood is crying out from the ground for justice".
God will no doubt condemn the unjust be it law or man because
HE is indeed a just God. My question is why does law prohibit
murder or adultery or other such crimes? Well the individual has
the right to choose Good or evil...isn't it? "

Lina mathew -
" Understand the crux of the matter--that God did not prevent
man from exercising his freedom to choose evil."
"As Christians, we cannot impose our views on others just because
we know that we are right and they are wrong. let's not use the
ostrich -which -buries -it's -head -in -the-sand  approachmuch
hue and cry will ensue as certain sections of society will say
that it is better to have legal abortion and save the health
of the mother than have illegal abortion and let both woman and
fetus die."

Joby Thomas -
What is the difference between killing a human person who is
one day old or one who is just 3 months in the mother's womb.
BOTH ARE COLD BLOODED AND BRUTAL MURDER. HENCE, THE OFFENCE IS
EQUALLY PUNISHABLE GOING BY THE PRINCIPLES OF JUSTICE and LAW.
MTP IS A HIGHLY SOPHISTICATED MEDICAL JARGON FOR A HEINOUS AND
BARBAROUS ACT OF PUTTING AN END TO LIFE. AND THIS BY NO MEANS
SHOULD BE PERMITTED. ON THE CONTRARY, I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND
A STRONG PUNISHMENT TO THIS OFFENCE SO THAT PEOPLE ARE DISCOURAGED
FROM COMMITTING IT. The right to freedom should be exercised
in the right perspective, in order to promote and preserve life
and not to destroy it.

Sheril Daniel - ( Masters Student - Rhodes university -South Africa)
"Whatever the outcome, and however slim the chances that it
would be in "our" favour, we should fight for what we believe

that, as christians, to change a particular pratice in society
the method to be adopted might be to convince people rather

I am extremely pleased on learning about the efforts to scrap

pass laws condemning and making the act a punishable offence.

Expecting more comments on these issues... Some of our animators

RE: [JOYnet] My real identity!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2001-11-29 Thread Suresh Kumat T. Jose

Hi All,

Searching for real identity by Biji, continued by Viji, Josun, Welchi
etc is really cool now we all know there is something in a name.
think many of us have similar problems. Me too join with you guys...
it is since long time I am getting enquiry about my name. Suresh is
a Hindhu name and when 'Kumar' added to it confirms i am a Hindu guy.
Most of my friends believed that I am Hindu and when they came to
know that I am not it was quite surprising for them.

How i got this name : When they got their first baby born Mr. Jose
& Mrs. Mary Jose were discussing with all family members for a good
name. That time my uncle who named 'Joseph' was Commander in Indian
Navy and he was facing lot of problems with that Christian name,
my parents want me also to follow my uncles steps (join Armed forces)
so decide to put some name suitable for a Army officer (T.J. Suresh kumar).
As they wished i joined Sainik School, Kazhakootam, Trivandrum
(Military School by Central Govt.) when I am 12 years old but later
I found it is not my field. Any way that name remained with me.

There is many instances in Jesus Youth meetings others surprised how
a Hindu guy leading prayer group etc. I still remember once in our
college prayer group we had a meeting with sisters in the neighboring
convent. After the prayer meeting Mother superior was talking to the
crowd. She was saying 'How beautiful it is. it is really inspiring for
me how your prayer group leader pray. Even though he is a Hindu he
is a good model for all of us.etc etc..." my friends starts
laughing... Later on she told me she shared about me (Hindu guy leading
College prayer group) in other places also :)

recently I got a mail from one saying my name sounds like I am a Tamil...
here in sri Lanka one Traffic police caught me and I told him Since I
am a foreigner dont know this one is 'One way' etc...He looked at my
Driving Licence he read 'Suresh Kumar'...and Announced 'No No.. You
are a Sri lankan.. This is a Sri Lankan name' he never agreed that i am
an Indian till I show my passport... then he announced... 'Indian..
Sri Lankan..American.. same rule'...

other funny thing, once I got a proposal and there also came the name
issue... After all this incidents I thought it is better to have the
Christian 'Jose' with my name. So I am 'Suresh Kumar T. Jose' now.....
One thing i like to tell you...i never regretted about my name...
I am happy that I am 'Suresh Kumar'

Hey that's all for now,

Love you all,
Suresh

for a Lunch (at 12.30 I have to be there). I waked up and just washed
my face and switch on computer, My day starts with checking email.
Replied urgent ones, and there is lot of calls answered it... then
again some important works... Now it is 11.30... When they invited
for lunch I know there is going to be some tough negotiations with
them so prepared my self and now it is 12.15 It is 20 minutes drive
to there(Lanka Oberoi )... on the way 'Lagan' Music is going on...
then I checked everything is okay... but soon I felt something is
wrong somewhere what is that checked everything again..
then I realized it with a shock... In that busy morning I forget
to brush my teeth...

My Good god, how am I going to face them... Now it's almost near
to Oberoi hotel... what can I do now... then come to my mind that
P&O Sales manager used to come very close to face and say
'Helllo Suresh... How are you bla bla etc' Then His assistant
lady she is very friendly with me... she will also talk a lot...
then other guys... My God what can i do now??? Anyway i can't go
back and brush my teeth, no time for that...

God give me some idea Now I am in the Hotel.. its' 12.35,
looked around for them and to my surprise a call
from them 'We are on the way..will be there by 5 minutes'
Thank God.. I got 5 minutes have to do something now and searched
for the Waiting room... Yup nobody there... I washed my face again...
No tooth brush or paste.. then realised 'God made Tooth brush' is with
me... i use my finger to brush the Teeth then again not feeling
comfortable... then got the brave idea... yes there is a cake of Soap...
took it in the hand... Again brushed using little soap... yes it
is working out (Guys it is same like using any Tooth paste)...
That is the first time in Life I realised Soap tastes so good :)
Anyway that Meeting was successful.. Thank god & thank Dove Soap
Anybody Wanna try it Listen I am going to register its patent
right, so if u are going to try this please inform me and pay me
in advance.

Okay Guys and girls you might be saying this guy is an 'idiot'.
I agree.. but like to know what you all will do in this situation...

[JOYnet] Little bit of History !!

2001-11-23 Thread Suresh Kumat T. Jose

Hi all,

We are growing Now 683... (day after tommorrow we have to reduce 1
number from this. Anybody know the reason)

683 members from how many countries??? US, Canada,
South Africa, Germany, UK, France, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman,
Saudi Arabia, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand
Any other countries

It is beautiful... I am really proud to be part of this fellowship
Thankfull to that friends who initiated this e -fellowship.

Mathew Joseph (Bangalore) started this e-mail fellowship on
22-October-1998. Now also he spend lot of time for
Joynet, he is our Coordinator. When we started Joynet there
were only 5-6 members.

Then Bijo Thomas (Chicago) came up with the idea of creating a
mailing list. Bijo you are always blessed with nice ideas, that
is why we entrusted you our 'Familia' Now everything is in
your hand... Our hope is in you...

Then later, Manoj Jons created the mailing list and made it a
part of JY web site. Joby Michael suggested the name Jyolist
(Jesus Youth On-line List). This cool guy is missing for some
months, we worked together here for 1 year now he is in kerala.
Joby we all miss you...

That time we called it Joylist. it was easy to use and we feel it
is better than saying 'jyolist'. later on last year we changed the
name as 'JOY Net'.

1999 April it was Easter time!! We were around 50 members that
time. Somebody shared the idea of a 'Live chat' for Global Jesus youth.
And we started it on that Easter day...later we continued it on every
Friday Night 10 PM (IST). it was simply great, talking to all this
Jy around the world. later on we stopped it because that time was
not convenient for many. Now we are 683 members...what you all
think daily some on-line chat in our web site ..how it will be ???
Any creative ideas

Any volunteers to add more details in this History chart???
Most welcome... Pls feel free to add any relvent details with
this

Looking forward for more creative ideas from Joynet members
Anybody planning to go around the world and visit all joynet
members We had some plan to make a directory of Jesus youth
contacts all around the world... what about that?? Then How is
the progress in Jesus youth international gathering 2002 (Canada)???
then what else??? hope you guys will come out with some cool ideas
Anyway we have to restart our 'Live chat' soon

[JOYnet] Natural family Planning (part -3)

2001-11-20 Thread Suresh Kumat T. Jose
ral means.

It is not a sin to postpone or avoid conception for a good reason, but how
one postpones or avoids can be sinful or it can be virtuous. Whether a
method is 95% or 99% or 100% effective has no bearing on its morality.

Through Sex the couple can share Love and offer Life. There is nothing wrong
in sharing love alone even by avoiding or postponing of offering life. I
mean sex without an intention of conception is not wrong, and should not be
degraded. (I believe this is catholic.)

What is NFP?
As the word itself says it's a Planning of the Family by the couple with the
help of natural ways. The aim of it is to postpone or avoid conception.

God fixed fertility period for a limited time for woman, this is an option
given to the couple to have the divine sharing of marital love through
marital sex even without having it's result of life, and doesn't mean it's
against life.

After an age the fertility of woman stops forever, that doesn't mean she
should not have sex afterwards with her husband. If she refuses so it's an
act against marriage law and thus against God. See here sex is to be shared
for the divine purpose of marital love, even though the intention of
conception is completely ignored.

Dear Friends,

I have taken excerpts from the Universal Cathechism which pertain to NFP
and contraception.

2366. Fecundity is a gift, an end of marriage, for conjugal love naturally
tends to be fruitful. A child does not come from outside as something added
on to the mutual love of the spouses, but springs from the very heart of
that mutual giving, as its fruit and fulfillment. So the Church, which "is
on the side of life"[150] teaches that "each and every marriage act must
remain open 'per se' to the transmission of life."[151] "This particular
doctrine, expounded on numerous occasions by the Magisterium, is based on
the inseparable connection, established by God, which man on his own
initiative may not break, between the unitive significance and the
procreative significance which are both inherent to the marriage act."[152]

2370. "Periodic continence, that is, the methods of birth regulation based
on self- observation and the use of infertile periods, is in conformity
with the objective criteria of morality.[HV 16.] These methods respect the
bodies of the spouses, encourage tenderness between them, and favor the
education of an authentic freedom. In contrast, 'every action which,
whether in anticipation of the conjugal act, or in its accomplishment, or
in the development of its natural consequences, proposes, whether as an end
or as a means, to render procreation impossible' is intrinsically evil:[HV
14.]
Thus the innate language that expresses the total reciprocal self-giving of
husband and wife is overlaid, through contraception, by an objectively
contradictory language, namely, that of not giving oneself totally to the
other. This leads not only to a positive refusal to be open to life but
also to a falsification of the inner truth of conjugal love, which is
called upon to give itself in personal totality The difference, both
anthropological and moral, between contraception and recourse to the rhythm
of the cycle . . . involves in the final analysis two irreconcilable
concepts of the human person and of human sexuality.[FC 32.]"

2399. "The regulation of births represents one of the aspects of
responsible fatherhood and motherhood. Legitimate intentions on the part of
the spouses do not justify recourse to morally unacceptable means (for
example, direct sterilization or contraception). "

Sincerely

Patrick Dooley

Hi,

I am trying to understand the excerpts from the Universal Catechism which
pertain to NFP and contraception. Why does all the documentation of the
church sounds like legal documents which can only be interpreted by
specially trained higher offices of the church???!!! (and in many
contradicting ways of course!) Haven't they ever read The New Testament?

Dear Manoj,
It is very nice to hear that young people like you are interested and are
going through the documents of the Church on important moral issues. To
answer your doubt about why they are presented in juridical terms, I may
just say that church in this world is a juridical body also, because it is
composed of human beings. But the most important thing to keep in mind is
that the teachings of the church are not mere legal regulations, instead
they are principles drawn from the Bible and the long tradition and
experience of the church. When we present a teaching or a precept it has to
be as precise as possible and should contain all the aspects of the problem
treated. It is for us who are to use them, that we should try to understand
those teachings with the help of others.

Another factor is that the teachings of the church are not looked upon
only by the catholics. Most of the times they are studied and critiqued by
those outside the church. So her teachings have to be very accurate,
precise, clear and answering the problems.

Hello friends,
I am writing this after seeing Suresh/Manoj's mail and Patrick's response
to it.
Before I start, I want to share that in the 8 years of my married life, we
have never used any contraceptives As a Catholic/ Jesus youth, it is our
duty to obey the present teachings of the Church even if that may change
after years.

I do think almost all of us are practising it also. But there is a
difference in obeying a rule without conviction and obeying with clear
understanding. If you want to share this with some one, you should have a
conviction why the Catholic Church teaches so. Also, this is not merely a
matter of belief (as with the Trinity); we have to also practise it. So,
Patrick, don't be disappointed with the progress of the discussion which
was started by you,This is not a question of lack of unity,or division
among us,since our underlying desire is not to disobey the church's
teachings, but to obey her teachings with clarity. I do think this is one of
the strengths of Jesus Youth that every one is allowed to share their view
points even if they are very different, and finally all of us make sure
reach a prayerful,Spirit-led conclusion. I have edited our discussions and
have already sent it to Mr.. Errol Fernandes( a well known Pro-lifer from
Bombay) for his expert comments...

Looking back at the 34 page discussions, I think every one was convinced
about the cruelty and sinfulness of Abortion.
Also, every one was convinced that abortaficient contraceptive methods are
also sinful. The difference of opinion was about non-abortaficient
contraceptive methods and its difference with NFP.
Attn. Mr..Sebastian, I don't think our Church has allowed abortion even in
the case of saving a mother's life. That is not a Christian attitude either
. Jesus sacrificed his life to give life to you and me. He has taught us to
do the same. This was the case in the life of many of our fathers too-
Maximillian Colbe, Fr, Damian..etc. Also I believe that if it is God's will
to save the life of the mother, whatever the conclusions of medical science
may be,he can do it and he will do it. Destroying one life to save another
can never be God's will. What can be more beautiful in this world than that
a mother gives her life so that her child may live ?
I hope we will go ahead with our discussions, collecting more view points,
at the same time we will wait for the experts/experienced to respond. I
will share my personal views in the next mail.

With love, Manoj Sunny

Dear Members,

I need to get some time to prepare the information. Unfortunately most of
my information consists of tapes, and books. The main premises are:

I believe and have evidence for the facts that:

1. There is a plot to reduce the worlds population from the current 6
billion to some 2 billion.

2. Already estimates for China indicate that 600 million people have been
killed, either through abortion, infanticide, euthanasia. Chinas total
population is somewhere around 1.3 billion to date.

3. India will be targeted for massive depopulation schemes, but I do not
have the numbers at hand.

4. In USA. the population goal is 100 million. Currently the population
of America is 260 million or thereabouts.

5. The United Nations is a killing machine designed to generate these
numbers through voluntary and forced sterilization, voluntary and forced
abortion, euthanasia, murder, the funding of tribal wars, economic
instability leading to disease and death. The rampant spread of AIDs due
to deprived economic conditions in Africa is a prime example.

6. Through the monetary funds provided by the IMF and the World Bank,
third world nations are being forced to put into place access to abortion
and contraception before recieving funds to service their tremendous debts.

7. The majority of the funds is coming from the first world nations
unbeknownst to the the nations through the intrigue of the central banks,
particularly the Federal Reserve system in the United States. These
Central banks are funelling much of the wealth from these strong economies
to further the depopulation schemes. Meanwhile the inhabitants of the
first world nations are quickly becoming impoverished.

Currently in the United States and Canada, there is no legal limit on who
and when abortion can occur.

Children at 9 months are being aborted in a process coined "Partial-birth
abortion". Infanticide is still illegal in the United States,. therefore,
the abortionists take a full term child, extract the childs body from the
womb by the legs until only the head is left in the birth canal. The
abortionist then takes a pair scissors and makes a hole in the back of the
skull, opens the scissors to enlarge the hole, and places a small vacuum in
the hole and removes the brain. The dead child is then removed from the
birth canal.

The house of representatives and the house of congress have tried to make
this procedure illegal and have voted it into law. However, President
Clinton vetoed the law. The House of Congress have tried two times to
override the veto of the president, but the house needs 66 %. Both times
the vote was short by a very small margin. The irony of it is is that if
all of the catholics in the house had voted to override the veto, It would
have been made into law. Congress will again try to vote on the bill this
Wednesday, April 5, 2000. We pray to God that they are able to outlaw
this procedure in the home of the free.

The culture of death is no abstract term. Not to be an alarmist, but the
mouth of death is wide open and we are tottering on the edge.

Please pray for the vote in congress, and try to stem the tide of death in
America. America has to wake up to the role it is playing in the culture
of death in the world. If it can conquir it at home it will be able to
conquer it in the world.

I apologize for my lack of preparation. I will try and point people to web
sites of interest and try to present more specific information. Has
anybody heard of these things in India, or in other parts of the world?

Sincerely in Christ

Patrick Dooley.

Dear members,

I want to thankyou guys and gals for not ostracizing me outright. I know
that some of the claims I made sound incredibly outrageous and quite
frankly crazy.

Secondly I would like to point out, that the issue of abortion is tightly
related to contraception. Not suprisingly, abortion became really big in
North America five or six years after the Catholic Bishops allowed
disobedience to Pope Paul VI's Humanae Vitae (have I spelt it correctly).
Contraception unfortunately became, and has bocome a common dimension of
many Catholic marriages in Canada and the United States. Naturally,
couples engaged in the conjugal act with no intention of concieving a child
will naturally tend to rely on abortion when a child is concieved. Here in
North America we have been fighting abortion for thirty years with little
or no success. The reason is quite frankly we have not wanted to give up
or contraceptive mentallity. In a certain sense it is more evil to
contracieve than it is to abort. When one uses contraception, a child has
no chance to life, and thus no chance to eternal life. At least when a
child is concieved and aborted, it can still enjoy the beatific vision in
heaven.

I will try to get some time to start backing up some of my earlier
statements soon. Fight contraception, and abortion will die.

Hi Friends
So much has been discussed on the cultureof death.
But I am stuck on the following point from Patrick's mail

"In a certain sense it is more evil to contracieve
than it is to abort. When one uses contraception, a child has no chance to
life, and thus no chance to eternal life. At least when a child is
concieved and aborted, it can still enjoy the beatific vision in heaven."

Here arises a question.
Is it not still worse
not being able to take proper care of the numerous offspring
(as Suresh pointed out the number could be 10-20)
than to keep a check on the number of them ?

To take care means not only the finacial capability of the couple
to bring up their children
but the time and individual care they have to give to their children.
One can site examples of those couples who have many children.
But does that mean it could be a success story with every couple?

Please throw some light on this.

Giju

Dear friends,

I am sorry if I have created any confusion. In my last statement I said

"In a certain sense it is more evil to contracieve than it is to abort.
When one uses contraception, a child has no chance to life, and thus no
chance to eternal life. At least when a child is concieved and aborted,
it can still enjoy the beatific vision in heaven."

After reading some of the responses, I realized that this sentence could
be misinterpreted.

I did not mean to say that it is better to avoid contraception and simply
abort if a baby is concieved. Abortion is evil. Contraception is evil. I
simply meant to criticize the contraceptive mentality which is so widely
held in Christian and even Catholic circles.

I would like to thank Father Thomas in helping to bring this to my attention.

Sincerely

Patrick Dooley

Hello,

I would like to break my silence after quiet a long time. I really wanted
to comment on this topic much before, but couldn't find time.

Many pro-life advocates (I really don't mean any sarcasm here) show a
variety of scientific proofs in order to establish their arguments against
abortion and contraceptive methods. But do we have any scientific survey
results on the success (or failure) rate of Natural Family Planning? At
least, I haven't seen any prolife session talking about them. One thing
most of such sessions fail to highlight is the fact that the success of NFP
very much depends on the predicability of fertile days in women (unless the
couple is determined to apply self-control during more than 70% of the days,
in order to avoid undesired/unexpected pregnancy).

What is the percentage of the women having non-standard periods? What is
the percentage of the

Catholics United for the Faith is an international lay apostolate,
building on the only sure

Choose Life, That You and Your Children May Live
The Truth About Birth Control
--

ISSUE: Is artificial birth control or contraception ever permitted?

DISCUSSION: Under no circumstances is the use of contraception morally
permissible. This is the clear and infallible teaching of the Catholic
Church and, because it flows from the natural law as given to us by God, the
Creator of all people, it is binding on all men and women (Humanae Vitae
[HV] 18; Catechism, no. 2036). 1

Gospel of Life
--

The Roman Catholic Church's teaching that contraception is always
and everywhere wrong is very controversial today. Like the disciples who
walked away from Jesus, many say, "This is a hard saying; who can listen to
it?" (Jn. 6:60). Like Christ Himself, it is a "sign of contradiction" (Lk.
2:34), a "stumbling block" (1 Pet. 2:8) in a society thathas largely
rejected sexual morality in favor of what Pope John Paul II calls a "culture
of death."

The Church, the "pillar and bulwark of the truth" (1 Tim. 3:15),
will never succumb to the thinking of the world (cf. Rom. 12:2) and to the
snares of the evil one, who is the "father of lies" and a "murderer from the
beginning" (Jn. 8:44). Rather, the Church is a mother who never forgets her
children (cf. Is. 49:15). The Gospel of Life, which reveals God's loving
plan for every human person, is a call to each of us to reform our
lives-including our sexuality-in conformity with the Gospel. Even more, it
is a call to an ever-deepening relationship with God the Father, theAuthor
of all life, and Jesus Christ whom He sent (cf. Jn. 17:3).

Contraception frustrates the purpose of the marital act as the
proper expression of love between husband and wife, and is opposed to the
virtue of chastity in marriage (Evangelium Vitae [EV] 13; cf. Catechism, no.
2349).Legitimate reasons on the part of spouses to avoid a new birth do not
justify recourse to morally unacceptable ("intrinsically evil") means, such
as contraception or direct sterilization (Catechism, nos. 2370, 2399; cf. EV
97).

There are many objections to the Church's teaching on contraception.
Some believe it is inconvenient and impractical, if not outright impossible.
Others believe it is foolish and irresponsible in a world that is apparently
overpopulated. Still others consider contraception and all aspects of their
personal lives as private choices to be made according to their individual
determination of what's best for them. Some will even argue that if the
Catholic Church were truly opposed to abortion, it would allow for
contraception. They reason that if couples could contracept, they wouldn't
need to abort.

Each of these notions is false and needs to be refuted.

Objection #1: Ban on Contraception Is Impractical
--
Self-control is difficult, but with God's grace it is not
impossible. Those who maintain that couples cannot remain chaste and open to
life bear witness to the fact that sin holds us in slavery and impairs our
ability to freely choose the good. Yet Christ has come to liberate us from
the slavery of sin and death (cf. Rom. 6:17-23), and history is filled with
examples of chaste and heroically generous people.

Hedonism -the pursuit of self-gratification-is the opposite of true
love, because true love is not selfish or self- seeking (cf. 1 Cor. 13:4-7),
but involves a total gift of self to others. Christ manifested His love for
us by giving Himself up for us on the Cross. Spouses are called to imitate
this love through their mutual self-gift.

The secular entertainment and advertising media promotes hedonism,
as do attitudes and, sadly, sex education programs that assume that
self-control is impossible. Be

I was going through your mail and I thought I have to write a mail to you.
It is regarding the 4th point - Natural Family Planning.
Are you thinking that natural family planning is the right method
Anyway I don't think.

Is there any difference with this method to other methods?? May be the
"way" is different, But the aim or ultimate result is same. To avoid
pregnancy. Somebody is using condoms, others using pills and some others
are using natural family planning. What is the diffenrence?

And afterall I am thinking that sex is something great. Are you agree
that in the evening or whenever your spouse is looking in the calender or
diary and saying today it is safe day and we can have sex. Or when you both
are in a such a mood and only because of a fertile period you are compell
to controll yourself.. you are doing it deliberatly only to avoid
pregnancy.
What is the difference with other contraceptives.

If you are doing something - the way and the aim should be right.

The better thing is use contraceptives whenever a person want sex. Don't
make a time table for sexual relationships.

What is your openion "

Even though I shared contraception as a evil in my previous mail, I have
some doubts which need clarifications. I am sharing many arguments I heard
from others or which I have my self. sorry that the words used are not
standard because of my less knowledge in this area.

1. when I was age of 14-15 I have a good friend who was a seminarian, and
teaches catechism in my parish. we talked a lot and since I belive he is a
real disciple of Jesus, his words and life influenced me a lot.

One day he told me he dont agree with Catholic church about her policy on
contraception. in this modern world there are lot of couples meet each
other on weekends or once a month, because they are working another place.
They may be together maximum 4-5 days a month. and if that days comes in
between fertile periods can u preach them 'self control'.

we Jesus youth or active Christian may try to practice self control in that
situation. but what about the Christian who is passive in the faith
(which is a majority in church).

2. Patrick told he recommend abortion than contraception since the aborted
baby will get eternal life. we may have lot of arguments but abortion is
killing a baby at any stage. even it is one day old or 6 months or 9 months.

but in contraception (eg; condoms) there is no baby formed. That sperms may
or may not have chance to give a new life. that is not definite, there is
Probabilities for both. so which one is more sinful, killing a baby or
killing a chance to form a baby? In mans life hundreds of millions sperms
are formed but only 2 or 3 get chance to fire a new life. what about the
other sperms??? They dont have a chance or there chance is 1 in million
which we cant take material.

3. Is it okay that a couple can decide the number of children they wanted.
How they can decide a number of 2-3 since there is chances for 10-20
children (like our grant parents had, My grand parents have 12 children).
When the couples decide the number, are they conflicting with the natural
rules, and Gods rules. so once they decided the number of children they
want. There is no chance for another baby to form, so is the contraceptive a
sin after that?

4. about the natural family planning:-

people say that it is not safe since there is lot of chances for false
assessments which couples come to conclusion about fertile period. an
average couple is not expected to have such a knowledge that they can asses
fertile period 100% accurately. so some days they will be in doubt and it
makes lot of stress. And if one time they failed it may lead to abortion. So
is it a safe method always or a couple can use natural methods when they are
sure and if they are not sure can they use contraceptives?

I am sure many of you will write off this arguments as stupid, but if u can
prove this is stupid it will be helpful.

I attended lot of pro life programmes but hardly heard from some couples
shared that how they practice 'pro-life' in there life. One sharing I heard
was santhosh Joseph's (pala) dad & Mum shared about there life. So if any
body of you can share from life experience (why not) it will be more
helpful.

sincerely,

Suresh

Dear friends,

I got some mails asking me more details on Family planning. Another mail
explains need of a discussion on this matter. " If you could get the Pro
lifers to discuss, and pass on the information regarding the church and
the layman's stand on family planning..as God wants it to be...it would
be just great. many are shy to ask about such topics..they think that
it would form out that they are majorly interested in sex! but sex forms
an integral part of the relationship between a husband and wife! so let
the pro lifers dissipate these doubts many of us have"

We have lot of Doctors, pro life leaders and many persons who have good
knowledge on this matter. Why dont we have a discussion on this matter.
here anybody can feel free to ask questions, any doubts related to this.

Discussion !!!

01. What is Family planning?
02. What is church teaching about family planning? Is it same as natural
Family planning?
03. Is it practical to follow NFP?
04. What is advantages and disadvantages of NFP and other methods?
05. Any other related topics.

If anybody feel not comfortable to send questions directly to Joynet,
you can send to my id, or to Mathew <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
and we will send it with out your name.

Now anybody in Joynet feel free to ask questions, and we will start
discussion.

Any reply for this mail from Roshan

Now anybody remember our discussions on 'family Planning' ??? it was
2 years back we discussed with much details and it went on nearly a month.
That time joynet membership was only around 100. Now we have another
550 + members most of them are joined recently. We can have a discussion
about Family planning. it is one of the relevant issue for a discussion.
Pro life movers like, Alexy, Shiny, Dr. Sindhu, Dr. jacob, etc can give
us lot of informations about this. Same time we all can clarify our
doubts also. What do you all think?

[JOYnet] JOOOOYYYYYYY Net

2001-11-09 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi All,

Thanks beJOY and (Lisa) Leese. they two also contributed a lot for
our Joynet. name beJOY is our inspiration to change our name from
'JYlist' to 'JOYnet'. Hope you guys (of course including Leese)
will come up with ,more cool stuffs here. Leese we are waiting
for more stories from US.

One thing i like to bring all Joynet members attention is we need
to interact each other through this mails. This is not just email
ids, but this is fellowship of some cool guys & gals. our way of
interaction is not just reading and sending or forwading mails.
But we have to see each other, Love each other, pray for each other,
Listen (Not reading) to this mails, and finally we have to spend
time for Talking (not simply reply). Then this Joynet will be
'Sweet like choclate' what do you all think

01. How can we see each other ???
02. How can we Love Joynet and its members ?
03. How can we pray for this Joynet members
04. How can we talk effectively (sharing) to this fellowship ??
05. How can we Listen effectively this mails ???

All of you please try to write some answers for this 5 questions...
definitely it is going to help us to grow in real loving community.

If all of us can start contributing our time, ideas it will be
great. Please write what ever comes in to your mind. Let us start
praying for this fellowship. this is global Ministry of Jesus Youth.
We are called for this special mission. hi all of you guys & girls,
uncles & aunties, dads & moms, kids & bunnies who are still
keeping mum... then our all old buddies who are busy now
spend few minutes for all of this 650 + joynet members

Expecting all of your ideas

With lot of Love, Suresh

[JOYnet] hi

2001-11-08 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hiii,

Thank you very much Mathew for introduciong me. So our Coordinator
called me Leg Puller, let me start with pulling his legs :) When this
Mathew giving all this instructions, advise, reminders etc we will be
getting an idea about an Old animator like .(you can fill it with a
local animator's name) or we might think that he is very serious guy etc
etc. But the fact is very different, you can see a Hero Honda Bike flying
over speed because he is always busy with many programmes. Then you he
is very nice, cool chap, and you will really love his company. Now you
know why Mathew wrote such a nice essay about me... he know i will write
back some thing like this... Mutual understanding... :)

Last day I saw a mail from Smiju, he is from Abdhudhabi and he always send
some throat provoking questions... " Is there any relation between
Love & Anger ? " it is Smiju's question, I am trying find answers from my
past experiences... if you have any answers please send it to joynet.

Priya's sharing is so nice. Congratulations priya. If all of us can share
some experiences like that it will be great. Earlier also priya used to
send nice testimony's like this. good work priya.

I was looking for our Giju last few days, he is always busy and even
though I see him on-line in MSN almost all time in the day, he wont be
answering from that side. what is going on?? Hey he is getting married
soon, exited any way our web master will be missing in action for
sometime Giju you got to arrange an E- party for all joynet members.

Now all of must be scared to send mails to joynet thinking that it is
going to more than 650 persons around th world Yeah i am also scared
because we dont know much about most the members. how can we know each
other, we have to write and other has to read Hope we all will
try to send more personal mails to Joynet.

Earlier we used to get reports from different countries what happened
to Leese & co. please somebody from each regions send their reports
and experiences.

hey anybody noticed some mails coming with a tail 'C.C.' what is that?
Is it like 100 CC bike??? hey this one is better one, running all
around India. Yeah, jesus youth national Cordinator His name is C.C.
anybody know the full name of C.C.

NB: Now onwards we can add one more thing in the Joynet memberhip form.
All the mebers has to send atleast one mail per week... what do you
all think? are you ready to recive around 100 mails per day

Luv you all,
Suresh

[JOYnet] Hi from Sri lanka !!!!!!!!

2001-11-08 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hi friends,

our Joynet is growing daily and Now we are 659 members in Joy net.
i think half of this members joined this year. The beauty of this
group is that even though most of the people never met each other
face to face we have that love in this group. Other positive point
I noticed is we have more listeners here than speakers Normally
in our gatherings, there will be lot of people sharing them self
and few will be listening... Now here it is opposite... Just imagine
if all this 659 send 1 email to joynet one fine day. then our
poor Hindhustani friends might have to spend half of the day to
down load it :)

last 6 months i was a silent listner of Joynet. there is some other
reasons also behind it. Anyway Joynet was the only helping hand for
me last 6 months. When I was fighting with God, when i tried to find
out cruel face of God, When i cried out 'Lord you are far away from
this World' God was answering me through Joynet. I thank God and
to all my brothers and sisters for making this Community so beautiful...

Now I am back in action here. My company is planning a new project
here in Colombo and it is completely trusted on me. I came here to
work for the company and now getting chance to invest with my Boss.
God not counting my sins or drawbacks in life, when we do mistakes
he is blessing more

I realize even from our bad actions god can make good results.
Some of you may not agree with me. but i experienced it last month.
When i tried to be over smart, not listening God, he changed it in
a good way. okay friends let me stop here, will come back with
more mails soon.

Luv you all,
Suresh

[JOYnet] Please pray for my best friend

2001-08-28 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Dear friends,

First of all sorry for sending prayer request to this main list. Being
in Joynet from the beginning I think this is the first time I am sending
a serious prayer request here. It is for my best friend Sona. She have
Urinary Infection and under treatment for that for last 4-5 months. Now
doctors are advising for an operation in October. She is just 9 months
old (daughter of my friends Siju & Roshini) and we can't imagine her
undergoing an operation. She smiles like an angel and she is very good
friend of mine. After her dad and Mom she like me most. Please pray for
Sona that Lord will touch and heal her in a special way.

I told Sona's parents about this Joynet and about our prayer network.
They are very much happy that all of us will pray for their daughter. If
some of you can send some consoling mails to them that will be great.
Thanking you for all helps my friends,

Sona's parents address :[EMAIL PROTECTED]

[JOYnet] Hello guys & girls

2001-08-09 Thread Suresh Kumar T. Jose

Hii,

It is nice to read Welchy's mail with introduction of 8 new members
in joynet. I still remember Earlier days when we get 1-2 members in
a week we were so happy to welcome them, and their introductions,
then we all had a real personal touch always. Now we are increasing
in numbers, and crossed 500. We are really growing very fastly
day by day lot of new faces coming in... Hey guys & girls from all
around the world This is joynet where we share the real joy
and love of Jesus.

Let us not become a group of email address or a way of getting some
emails Like any other group or fellowship we should become a
group where we can share Love, Joy How we can love a
name@ .com So we need to know about each other right, let us
come forward and share about our self, about our places, about our
culture, about our job, our friends, family, anything related to
'me' we can share here...

Hey some of you guys might not know this 'Suresh'. I was bit silent
last 3-4 months. Meaning of name 'Suresh' in malayalam is ' A person
who have divinity' hey dont stare at me this i found very recently.
If any of you think something else is the meaning please let me know
it. then I am from kerela/India but now working here in Colombo/Sri Lanka.
Here me going on with my studies, job, and with few of my buddies.

I will share some thing about LTTE's recent attack on our Colombo
airport: It is like watching an action movie, this 20 LTTE guys attacked
Sri lanka's most secured place, they came in a bus like tourists and
had all fun near the airport & air force base. and half of them tried
to get inside using Army uniforms and they had some quarrels with Air
force guys and there was some fighting that time all security guys
come around them and other group of terrorists penetrated inside the
Air base and Bombed their fighter planes. Anyway they done a massive
destruction and Sri Lanka economy is very badly affected by this. Here
complete tourism and hotel industry and related areas breakdown is
shaking Sri lankan Economy.

okay Guys & girls, that's all for time being, i will write ya more
later, i will advise all of you to write some things about your places,
about your country, about your friends etc, dont always stick into
sharing this spiritual things and bible quotations, this is not a
group of some blessed souls, we are young guys and girls, come, be
active, okay then,

Luv, Suresh :)
