As their life is under serious threat from the Shiv Sainiks. It seems the whole township in which he works is full of sorcerers. And people in large numbers are getting delivered from this evil therefore bringing financial loss to the sorcerers. One of the evangelist Sunil who was delivered from this evil, and now working incessantly against this evil has come under their attack. The sorcerers have influenced and joined hands with the Shiv Sainiks to attack the evangelists and preachers. They have threatened to kill them. My husband is seeking visitation of my three kids. Hey guys! I come asking for your valuable prayers. I have three major exams this week, one on Tuesday and two on Wednesday. I am just tried of studying and not getting the fruit out of it. Sometime I feel like there is no point in my studying. Please pray that the Holy Spirit fills me with his knowledge and wisdom. Please know that you are all in my prayers. Hello family, Yesterday i got a letter from one of my old CCD(catechism) students which made me write this . I always liked teaching (had i not become a doctor i would have preferred teaching at school). And so after reaching USA i thought one of the best ways to penetrate into the youth world is by teaching Catechism. I was so confident that i'll do well , but the very first class itself ,and many more to follow, was a disaster ..the kids were not listening ..and even told me they 're coming just because their parents want them to come and i found myself crying in the car while returning home. But i wrote down the name of all my students and prayed for them hard that they will get to know the Love of the Lord.So even while i was pregnant , and at times when i was not to take class,instead of going to the english church so near to our home ,we went to the Syro Malabar church and to CCD class just to be with them,even though they didn't seem to mind me.I didn't see any friut that year or the year after.I thought i was a failure. And even thought if i had put that effort in studying for USMLE,it would have been good! But next year also i started with new kids in another grade,where i have to teach Church history and Liturgy .The theory was so dry ,that even i found it hard.But i learned a lot.And i tried hard to put spirituality into what i was teaching.Luckily Lovely (another JY) who was teaching in that grade for a long time was handling most of the sessions beautifully. But i got lot of time to interact with them..and out of the 9 kids 5 came for World youth day and all of them got touched. Now some of them are our right hands in conducting the youth prayer at church. But i always wondered what hapeened to my kids of the previous batch.It was out of the blue that i received a letter from one of my kids of that batch yesterday..In which she told me that ..'i was the first CCD teacher she ever listened to...and thanked me for helping her to grow closer to God." I was so struck by that,and thanked God . It made me realise that none of our work and prayers for His kingdom go in vein.I know that it was the Lord's work .Since my British accent and my style of talking often made the kids laugh and i thought they even sympathised me .But how many things are hidden from us and how we judge people and situations wrongly. She told me that she even prayed for me at times...! Our duty is just to do what we're told to do and say that i'm an unworthy servant ...And its HIs duty to produce fruits in His time. And this year we 've 31 kids ..all from top families in the parish ,which often makes them behave as if they're very important One thing i should say is that these kids are very sincere and talk every thing open rather than keep it a secret.But they are taught in school and this society to excel...to rely on their own understanding.me ..mine...Ietc...So we've a tough Job ahead. Since we get hardly one hour in class which is just sufficient to cover our syllabus, Lovely and myself are planning more spiritual meetings out side CCD classes.When we hope to answer their faith questions and lead them to more deeper prayer sessions.And slowly lead all of 'em to JY prayer group .. Hello! I come to you today with a request for Prayers. This weekend 29 college students will be going on the SEARCH retreat. It is an AWESOME Catholic retreat that is held at Penn State. The retreat is conducted by students who have all ready gone on the retreat. We have speakers, cooks (thats me =), musicians, we have a prayer thon conducted at campus while the retreat is going on by students who have gone on the retreat and not on team. This retreat changes many peoples life. It has allowed many people to hear the call of God's voice. Yet the Priest who started this retreat has moved on to another school and we don't have the Spiritual Support from the Priests we have now. Usually we have the retreat every Fall and Spring semester, but this year we are only having it this Fall. We need this retreat to be powerful and this is where you guys play a role. I have seen the power of Prayer work in our gro! up. I want you guys to Pray for all those going on this retreat and especially for the Priests at Penn State. To all Joyneters, The Subject which i have mentioned in this mail is not a mistake but it would be the Subject i would actually be writing 2day. It is with Tears of Joy that i can inform you that My Brother Jason is alive with the Grace of God and with the Help 2 Guardian angels he survived a Train accident Yesterday. Yesterday we were on an outing to our aunt's place, Soon after Jason Booked the tickets we were about to catch the train but as soon as we reached mom to the ladies compartment the train began and Jason and I ran to get into the Gents compartment, which is the next compartment. The train caught up speed and i who was running behind Jason knew i wouldn't make it. Jason had just about reach the gents compartment. He tried to get in/ jump in but wot happened I do not know. The next thing i could see was Jason hanging from the & train being dragged. my heart was in my mouth and i couldn't think or do any thing at that moment. I was so stunned that everything was happening so fast I couldnt even get words to say a prayer. Some how I just managed to say "God Save him" Suddenly I seen that he let go of the Train and i Screamed his name thinking that was the last sight of him alive and that anything could happen he could go under the train or he could be hit by the tra! in! I like a nut was running behind him with 2 cups of miranda in both my hand and wanted 2 just pull towards the platform I threw one glass and ran faster to reach him. To Gods grace Jason fell towards the platform. When I reached him he was dazed for the moment on the ground and was saying Some one pushed me, Some one pushed me. The people around were like shouting at him saying "Chalti Gaadi ke peeche bagna nahin chahie"- which means should not run after a running train i shouted back at them saying some pushed him thats why he fell. Then comes the Greatest part of all this fool Jason get up regroups him self and the first thing he says. Hmm That was good lets do it again We caught the next train and Met our crying Mom at the next station, who just didn't stop telling him stuff 4 the next 1/2 hour. My Mom 2 had witnessed the incident cause she stood at the door and seen the whole incident. Well friends I could only narrate this briefly so that I could testify that Jason survived such a incident with the grace of God & with the prayers of my mom during the incident.. My mind is still not at ease because I still c the scene flashing B4 my eyes every time I think of Jason. The very fact the Jason was pulled towards the platform and not towards the train is the Miracle that God has made me witness. I feel and surely say that Jason is saved by the merciful hand of God. Well Friends at this time I would like to request youll to Please pray For others in the same situation. Some may live on to share their joys on how God saved them, But those who don't survive these incidents and devastated and turn away from God for the same reason... Hi everyone, I was selected to represent my country Dominica at the 17th World Youth Day in Toronoto Canada. In order to be able to travel i require a Canadian Visa which was sent for in Trinidad. I was again selected to attend a 3 day conference in Barbados from the 15th - 17th of May but i am not sure if i can attend because my passport is still in Trinidad and i cannot travel to Barbados with a permit, therefore i really need my passport. It is not very often that i get the opportunity from my job to travel to conference so i really want to attend. The count down has begun, but what shall i do to get my passport in time. Praise be on Jesus and Mary Dear JY friends I am writing to you with a wet eyes. I am in deep trouble. I am working in Dubai for nearly 2 ½ years and for last 1 years the company I was working is closed and I am working in accompany and not able to transfer my visa to this new company as the old company Is not existing and as I got valid visa up to July 2002 I was working in this company without any hassle. But I need to change my visa to this company at earliest. But these days labor laws are so tough and when we cancel visa we may get a ban and they will not allow me to work for 6 months or 1 years here in Dubai. I was introduced to a man from India itself by a mutual friend that he will sort out visa problems by his contacts in the Govt departments and I gave him Dh.1000 as advance and then my passport, my work permit and all my papers from both sponsors to him. But he kept on delaying things and now I was asking him to give me back my passport, papers and money. He said he will get me soon and today when I ! called him he is not picking up his mobile phone and I was in panic and called the mutual friend he too has no idea on him and later he found out that this man went to India. He did not even informed me on his travel and I am now deeply worried. All my papers and passport with him and if anything urgent required I cannot go to my home in India and I am here now without my valid documents. I hope you may understand this worst condition for one who is living in a foreign country who is without his passport and work permit. Many worst fear is coming to my mind that even my passport can be misused in many ways. This man was nice to me and my friends also know him through that mutual friend. I am really shattered here. I know its my fault only to trust some one. But my condition here was so desperate to seek help from any corner even though it was paying extra money as bribe . I cannot tell this thing to my parents in India as they may be so sad to hear this and will cry! on it more. I rely on God to save me out of this trouble and now I wish I get back at least my passport and my papers even ready to sacrifice my hard earned money . I am suffering for last one year on this and I am fed up and cannot bear this sufferings of life . I am going trough worst things in my life I rely on God and HE is my only refuge and savior. I request you to say a prayer for me so that God will take me out from this big visa trouble and I get back my passport and other vital documnets. I am attending a retreat in Sharjah from this 21 to 23 as it is our holidays here. Hello Friends, Most of you may have heard of the Jeevan TV channel by the Bishops of Kerala. Now they say the telecast will begin next month. Jeevan TV people are asking me to conduct a morning meditation for 15 minutes daily. The sample talk was approved by the board and now the shooting has to begin. Immediately they need about 60 episodes to begin with. Tomorrow will be the first stretch of shooting. None of the Cochin studios they could get and so they are hiring the studio at Divine Retreat Centre, Muringoor. They are asking if I can do 10 to 15 session tomorrow. I am not at all confident. This will requre a lot of ideas, stories, expressions, different sets of dress in a variety of , it is a little too much on me. Of course our joynet stories will be quite handy. I am yet to do my homework. So I need your prayers specially. Today I have to prepare and tomorrow from 8 in the morning to late in the night I will on the floor finishing as much as I can. hi everyone, today when i went back to hostel for a quick nap after my luunch something terrible happened. i was sleeping when i heared someone screaming and was not only startled but i just jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. i could'nt even imagine why anyone would scream so much, unless maybe there was a fire, but still... . went downstars to find one of ouur friends crying, apparently when she opend one of the closets to the bathroom she found another hostel mate huddled in there and she looked "really scary". we don't really know what rose (the person who was in the closet) was doing, but we know it's not good. she has been very depressed over the past months, not talkng to anyone, lockng herself n her room and pretending to not be in, etc. at hostel we five girls usually had prayer meetings on wednesdays and rose used to come for that, but after a while she just stopped. i know that she was angry with us cuz she told someone that we were laughing at her. i really don't know why she would think that. but since her close friend in our group could'nt get her to talk, i just assumed that i would'nt be able to. atleast if i had tried maybe i would'nt feel so guilty right now. anyway, our hall warden managed to open the door and get her out, i havent seen her because i heared that it was not a pretty sight and the girl who saw her has'tn stopped crying since... i believe she looks like she's had a stroke. and she may have attempted suicide or something we don't know. but at this stage 'm just askng all of you to please pray for rose, to get over it, and that we will all be able to get over this and manage to talk to her. well more importantly, that she will open her heart to Jesus again and let Him heal her. obviously there is some psychological problem wiith her because she had been telliing soemone things lke she sees "us" standing at her bed and laughing at her etc. with love in Jesus, sheril This mail is generated from JOYnet, a Jesus Youth mailing list. Debbie requests prayer for her neighbor Patricia, who still awaits a call from her doctor about kidney stones following tests last week. She is in a lot of pain and something needs to be done for her soon. She and her husband hve 3 kids(5, 3, and a 1yo) and it's difficult to take care of them Please pray for a young lady named Melissa who is pregnant with her first child and is experiencing symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, together with fluid retentiion in her hands. Evie has asked for prayers for the family of a 13 year old named Kara who was diagnosed with Leukemia and who expired recentlu. Please hold her whole family in prayer, especially her mom, and dad, and siblings. Kara was doing very well for almost 5 months, but suddenly went into septic shock. This baffled the doctors. I don't know what the exact cause of death was. Thank you in advance for praying for the family. Praise God this child is not longer suffering. Evie I have been in two wrecks in one week. My insurance company is giving me grief and I basically feel like my world is crumbling. I am not happy and I have nothing to look forward to in life...no family of my own, no love interest, etc...Please have the prayer warriors pray for peace of heart and mind and that my life would take some shape of purpose/meaning. I am in some pain from the wreck and I am mostly just sad and depressed about the state of things in my life...Thanks for your prayers... Jamie I had asked you to pray for my neighbor's husband, Chuck, and for his wife, Janice. Chuck had had an aneurysm 6 weeks ago, and was having difficulties after his surgery. He died this morning. Please pray for Janice, as his death was not expected. This couple was very close, traveled a lot, and they were getting ready to move into a retirement neighborhood. She is very, very sad. Thank you for your prayers. I have finacial problems I need Jesus to heal me of. I have illness I need healed of also. My girlfriend doesn't spend time with me or even make an effort to and that makes me feel empty inside and that emptyness makes me feel suicidal. She choked and was unconscious for a little while. She will be undergoing tests. Also please pray for a dear friend of mine who is awaiting tests for something that troubled the doctor during an exam. In addition, please lift up a family who is dealing with the mother's recovery from alcoholism, as well as a dad who needs to come to Christ. Also please pray for the relationship between the children and their mother, and that her life will be a good witness for them. Please pray for my friend, Kathleen, who is having breast cancer surgery today. She is in surgery now (Tuesday morning) and may possibly be until 5:00 p.m. They don't know how far along the cancer is, so she doesn't really know what to expect. Thank you so much. It is for my best friend Sona. She have Urinary Infection and under treatment for that for last 4-5 months. Now doctors are advising for an operation in October. She is just 9 months old (daughter of my friends Siju & Roshini) and we can't imagine her undergoing an operation. She smiles like an angel and she is very good friend of mine. After her dad and Mom she like me most. Please pray for Sona that Lord will touch and heal her in a special way. I told Sona's parents about this Joynet and about our prayer network. They are very much happy that all of us will pray for their daughter. If some of you can send some consoling mails to them that will be great. My nephew Dean Thomson from Wheaton, Illinois needs your healing prayers. Dean is a 7th grader and was on a Boy Scout sledding trip when he smashed head-on into a tree. He was air-lifted back to University Of Chicago Hospital to the trauma unit. Dean has multiple facial and head injuries. He has broken cheek, nose, and jaw bones and a broken eye socket. One eye had to be put back into the socket, his lips had to sewn on and his tongue stitched. His skull is cracked through, the plates separated. He has two blood clots and the potential for meningitis. Most of my email address book is family, and we are praying for healing for Dean. A prayer chain stretching across the country will most certainly send healing love to Dean, his mom and dad Melanie and Scott, his brother and sister Zack and Adrienne. One major thing planned along with the conferece is one month cultural exchange program for youth in which rural / tribal youth from all the states of the country are invited to come to kerala and to live with the youth in kreala (JY). Can you do any or all of the following. 1. Pray for the success of this missionary initiative. 2. Arrange the coming of youth from the dio's outside Kerala 3. Influence the people who can arrange the coming of such youth. ( Do you have some friends or priests, sisters who can arrange the coming of youth) 4. Meet the Bishop , youth director of the diocese, Provicials and other responsible people and impress them about the importance etc. 5.
