Didn't know about the public info url (PublicAppInfo). Just tested and it correctly redirects to canvas if the user has the app installed. I'm a bit confused though since when the app is not installed and I go to PublicAppInfo I'm redirected to AppInfo. Is it safe to link to PublicAppInfo? Just a remark here: Opensocial-client-library for java[1] is ready for Android. It has 2legged and 3legged support, and if you know how to pack rpc commands think this is the easiest way. A simple ant will solve your problem. Remember that applications still have a guest mode, which happens when a user who does not have the app views it on someone else's profile (he can arrive there through the via link, for instance). That's what you get when you land in the canvas view of an app on someone else's profile and you don't have it installed. The recommended practice is that applications should have a guest mode in which the user can get a feel for the application without installing it. We're running the app reviewer right now. You should either get an e-mail with app approved or with a proper reason for rejection. I´ve been testing some calls, and after some time, got something like 'permission denied for your domain, try in the next hours', which means is a kind of blocking system. I got this question many times on opensocial-br list and some customers and really dont know the answer. Basically, I´m packing 500 scraps on a unique rpc call, and dealing with captcha. More important that having the app reviewer running is making sure it will reject bad apps. You can expect the app submission process to become more rigid before the year ends. More than that, I can only say we're focused on it. We're already dry-running the new reviewer, one that does all the work except update the directory. I sincerely believe we'll be able to run one round of real reviews tomorrow. This one still needs some babysitting to make sure it finishes properly, and it seems we fixed one more source of hiccups. As far as I remember, you will not be able to get an user directly like this, due security restrictions. Also remember that it worked on sandbox, but on live website it was showing a permission denied error (like yours). We reviewed all pending apps from yesterday. Things look good. Please let us know if your app was incorrectly rejected due to XSS or objectionable content. Right now the priority is protecting the users, so no automated reviews. Again everyone pays for a handful of bad apples. Another headache is that the app reviewer takes too long to review an app after it's approved for the first time. This is also in the scope of this change. We'll start sending automated e-mails about problems in the spec next week, with instructions on how to fix your app. Basically it's the same set of requirements we ask upon submission: that it has an author, title, description, valid thumbnail, etc, and all resources are reachable. I predict most devs reading this already have correct specs, so the impact on you is likely to be small. Sorry everyone, we missed the deadline. These are trying times, we're under heavy fire from malicious apps. More important that having the app reviewer running is making sure it will reject bad apps. You can expect the app submission process to become more rigid before the year ends. More than that, I can only say we're focused on it. We're already dry-running the new reviewer, one that does all the work except update the directory. I sincerely believe we'll be able to run one round of real reviews tomorrow. John, If by UserComment you mean the section where you can input your comments before sharing/promoting something, I see that that field is present. It is possible that it may have been a temporary issue. Please take a look once again. However, the engineering team behind Share has recently been working on fixing a few bugs and currently there's the option to Promote is gone. Here's an example of the default user comment which facebook share allows http://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt_feed.php?message=DefaultComment This would appear in the text box. The user can change it if they wish. I would expect the orkut promote uc parameter to do the same. And it doesn't seem to be working from the past few months. Hello, I am having the same issue. prod.sandbox.orkut.com/Main#Application?appId=1089382740188: 1) app does not show in left navigation 2) with safety filter=show all content, trying to access the app, I getredirected to app info page 3) with safety filter=do not show inappropriate content , I get This gadget cannot be dispalyed* because of users age or safety settings *by the way, there is a small typo in the error message above (dispalyed should read displayed) sandbox.orkut.com/Main#Application?appId=1089382740188: 1) trying to access the app, I get warning - potential vulnerability in this app MaxiAmigos, after clicking on the warning message, I can access the app 2) after accessing the app, app shows in left navigation This is just my testing app, and fortunately I can still access it in sandbox.orkut.com, so I can keep on testing/developing my app. This looks like a previous issue, where my app was identified as a false positive, due to the text Ages 18+ in my app description. It would be great though, if you could unblock my app when you have some time, so I can access it on prod.sandbox.orkut.com as well. We found a security hole in gadgets rendering that the app reviewer should be blocking but wasn't. Right now the priority is protecting the users, so no automated reviews. Again everyone pays for a handful of bad apples. Another headache is that the app reviewer takes too long to review an app after it's approved for the first time. This is also in the scope of this change. We'll start sending automated e-mails about problems in the spec next week, with instructions on how to fix your app. Basically it's the same set of requirements we ask upon submission: that it has an author, title, description, valid thumbnail, etc, and all resources are reachable. I predict most devs reading this already have correct specs, so the impact on you is likely to be small. I'm getting the malformed security token error when I am trying to post an activity to my feed from within my app. i'm using the prod.sandbox environment. Anyone have any idea about this??? Now that i've switched over from sandbox.orkut.com over to prod.sandbox.orkut.com I am no longer able to access my persistent data again.
