Hi fellow listers,
The Preparing for Birth and Parenthood Conference program details are
available now on our website:

http://www.birthinternational.com/event/pfb_aus_2006/index.html

This is THE most important event for those involved in parent education in
Australia, and is modelled on the highly successful Conference that we
presented in the UK this past April (why should Aussies miss out, we
thought).

Speakers include two key educators from overseas - Mary Nolan from the UK
and Sherokee Ilse from the US and a list of Australian educators and
midwifery leaders who have special expertise in this field. The workshop
format, a first for OZ, will enable participants to get hands-on skills in
a range of areas - this is not going to be just a "talk fest"!

You won't want to miss this one

BTW, we are arranging some special additional events for midwives with
Sherokee Ilse, on the theme of dealing with stillbirth, miscarriage and
neonatal death. We'll let you know when the details for this program is
available, but I can tell you that there will be one-day workshops in
Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane, in February 2006.

Regards,

Andrea

Dear all

Apologies for cross - postings..

On behalf of the Homebirth Australia Conference

Geelong Victoria on July 1st and 2nd.  Please note the date,

Also featured at the conference will be a tribute
to the late Joan Donley and Jeannine Parvatti Baker as well as a ceremony of our

midwives - to keep those homefires burning.  There will be of course a
timely session of "what is happenning around oz" as well as the HBA

All in all there will be many more wonderful
presenters than those cited on the invited speakers list participating in either
the conference, the ceremony, conference expo or the poster display which will
feature the work by current research mothers and midwives ...

Of course more than anything we would love to see
as many of you there as possible.

[ozmidwifery] ILCA conference next week

2003-07-24 Thread Julie Clarke

Good Morning everyone…

I had a bit of a shocking start to my day today…. I
was outside hosing down windows not watching where I was going and fell
backwards into my freezing cold swimming pool, up to my neck !!!

Brr… I then got out and squished my way to the tap
and turned it off then stood outside the back door and stripped down all my wet
cold winter heavy clothes before coming in and getting dry and dressed again.

I am hugging a hot water bottle and still cold L

On to more pleasant things… who is coming to the Lactation
Consultants Conference next week??
I am really looking forward to it, but of course I will be careful not
to go to close to the edge at Darling Harbour!

Several of us are presenting papers. Look forward to catching

It is a great conference. I attended already two of them. They are very
informative but also very inspired. They have great speakers and a lot of
possibility for informal contact with people like Ina May Gaskin, Sarah
Wickham (www.withwoman.co.uk), Elisabeth Davis (Heart and Hands), Robbie
Davis-Floyd (http://www.davis-floyd.com/), Marina Alzugaray

I am definately going now also for the full 5 days and it would be great if
I could see a few of you all there.

[ozmidwifery] Homebirth Conference in WA

2004-11-01 Thread jo

Hi
all,

Have not long
returned home from the homebirth conference in WA and just wanted to acknowledge
those who made the conference such a wonderful, informative and enjoyable
w/e. It was just what I needed at a time where I was wondering what on earth I
was doing and came away feeling re-energised and refuelled to continue our fight
for safe, responsible, affordable homebirth.

Having been on the
organising committee 2 years ago for the Katoomba conference I know what is
involved and the toll it takes on us and our families to organise such an event
- so thankyou to all who made it possible for the national homebirth community
to gather and inspire one another to keep going.

It was also lovely
to finally put faces to names of so many from the west whom I have heard of
or had email contact with over the years.

I've returned home
feeling a new sense of appreciation for my family and all those who work
supporting women's choices - amazing how a homebirth conference can make you
feel all mushy about life!!!

THANKYOU AND
CONGRATULATIONS ON YET ANOTHER WONDERFUL CONFERENCE.

Jo
Hunter

Re: homebirth conference- some feelings

1999-09-15 Thread HomeMidwifery Association

An experience withlin the HMA is that mothers either grow up with their
children and move onto other things; or the mother needs to return to work
to support her family. (The very situation which I now face.)

It is difficult to remain involved and active when you are working
voluntarily and have no income to meet the costs of phone calls/petrol/other
items.

today as one midwife suggested? Or do they move on from the homebirth
movement when they are finished with it feeling they have nothing to offer?
I feel that these women need to be nurtured as they are the ones who can
carry the homebirth movement on, with midwives, while they are feeling so
strong and passionate.

love Kylie.

Re: homebirth conference- some feelings

1999-09-15 Thread settams

Dear Kylie,

I'd like to respond to your email on a very practical note, and as a member,
in the past, of two conference organising committees (one a homebirth
conference and one a childbirth educators conference). Conference organisers
can only present the sessions which have been offered to them. Even if they
try to work to a theme, or invite certain presenters or people, it really
all depends on who and what is offered.

In addition, in the past many conferences have allowed for the presentation
of spur of the moment sessions if the people attending have shown interest,
and a facilitator can be organised. Homebirth conferences in particular seem
able to respond in such a way. In fact, some of us travel to conferences
prepared to fill by facilitationg a spontaneous session should the need
arise (my own would be ecological birthing and babycare).

In a way I suppose what I'm saying is that how conferences develop depends
very heavily on what we, the attenders, choose to bring to them. As in birth
itself, we all have a responsibility.

With love and blessings

Elisabeth Speller

[ozmidwifery] [Ozmidwifery] Homebirth Australia Conference

2002-08-21 Thread Sue Cookson

The Homebirth Australia Committee are seeking expressions of interest from
groups wishing to organise the next National Homebirth Conference.

Ideally the conference will NOT be held in NSW (we've held two out of the
last three), but could be in any other state. The conference is usually
organised by a group or individuals with the passion and energy to devote to
running a national conference.
There is a sum of money which is handed on from year to year which helps to
'kickstart' the conference.

The Homebirth Australia committee currently has people experienced as
conference coordinators, and as such can offer information and support to
those wishing to take on the role in the future.

Please send expressions of interest to:
Homebirth Australia
PO Box 1085,
Byron Bay NSW 2481

or email to me:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Please give this some thought - it only takes a little passion to reach a
lot of people!!

[ozmidwifery] 25th Homebirth Australia Conference

2007-02-05 Thread jo
HI all,

I am pleased to let you know that we now have a confirmed date and keynote
speaker for the 25th Homebirth Australia Conference.

The conference will be held in Adelaide on Sat and Sun, Nov 3rd and 4th
2007.

I have just had a definite confirmation from Sheila Kitzinger who will be
our keynote speaker over the weekend.

The theme for the conference is

"25 years on, HOMEBIRTH, paving the way for maternity reform"

It is most likely that this will be the last opportunity to hear Sheila
speak in Australia, so if you are keen, pop it in your diary now and over
the next month we will have more information regarding venues and
registrations.

Warm regards

Dear Sonya

Where abouts in Sydney are you?

The IPMs have meetings around the metropolitan area third Wednesday of each
month and you would be most welcome to attend.

ASIM IPMs are working on having a meeting with Justine Caines who has just
been appointed National Coordinator of HBA.
ASIM and HBA will try and organise a joint National Conference and it seems
logical to have it where all the midwives of the nation are meeting doesn't
it?

Please get in touch if you would like to attend the next ASIM meeting at
North Ryde.

I am certainly interested in helping with this. I have made a start by
making the main thrust of the next Future Birth event a forum for
announcing/discussing/exploring NMAP, ACMI the PI issues and what these all
mean for the future of midwifery in Australia. There is already
considerable interest in this event and I hope that we will attract a lot
of midwives (as we did last time) who have not heard of any of this -
without them we will get no-where with implementing NMAP.

I've been thinking that there is a need to follow this up with exploration
of more aspects of this and that perhaps I should mount another event in 12
months instead of 2 years as I normally do.

I would be willing to throw the resources of Birth International behind
this effort, with profits to go to Maternity Coalition, if it would help.
Getting an event like this off the ground takes time and effort and a level
of expertise that we could provide.

Let me know what you all think. Meanwhile, we can get the ball rolling at
the Future Birth event in April. I have some ideas for supporting Maternity
Coalition through this event as well.

Count me in Andrea ..
Perhaps we could hold this event in the A.C.T. During a national Parliament
sitting? That way we could invite all the key politicians to visit the
conference venue and reaffirm their commitment to the NMAP.

Each session could be hooked up to a video network with all capital and
larger cities in the states and territories. Groups of midwives and women
from around the country can they relay their local concerns diredtly to
their Federal member and question they after they present.

Just a thought

2002-11-30 Thread Denise Hynd
Dear All
I like Jan's suggestions as a conference can be seen as just another
conference but what Jan has suggested sounds like a unique political forum??
Locating the activities within the Parliament Houses again
Seeking commitment from politicians.
Getting consumers to attend to show their support will get committment from
polies!!!
This sounds like activity aimed at those who can change our maternity
services!!
Yes please

Re: [ozmidwifery] national get-together/conference

2003-01-26 Thread Andrea Robertson
Hello Kartini,

Birth International holds a "Future Birth" Conference every 2 years and in
the other year we hold a major series of midwifery focused, top level
workshops. All are scheduled for major capitals and some other centres
around the country. I am sure there would be something of interest for you
in 2004 - keep an eye on our web site for details!

If another group decides to host a conference, we are happy to carry
details of that on our web site as well, especially events that
promote/support The Maternity Coalition.

Regards

Andrea

Dear Andrea, Robin, and other listers,
I think that holding another conference in 12 months instead of in two

seems to me that with all that is going on in birth reform in Australia
now, it would be necessary to keep the pressure on and not wait too long
to have a progress check.
Are there any such conferences planned for 2004 that you know of? I am
hoping very hard to be in your part of the world next year and would
really love to attend something interesting. Please let me know...

[ozmidwifery] Re: Side-by-Side Conference

2003-05-30 Thread Mary Murphy
Lynne, This would make a REALLY good video. Is there any chance that
someone could do that? We are all panting in anticipation at what might be
the outcome...It would give us all some really good pointers to building
bridges with our colleagues the Obstetricians. MM

Thank your for the feedback Jo.  We
know it wasn't perfect and had a few glitches at times, but we all had a good
time.  Trying to keep things low cost so people can afford to attend, also
places some restrictions on the outcome,  but as you say, it was energising
and motivating.  We ALL have to work hard to save community midwfery &
homebirth as it is teetering on the ege of extinction all over Australia.
Why is it so important when we have such wonderful hospital services?? it is
vital to be the standard for "NORMAL".  It has to be there for women's
choice and the future of woman centred birthing.  It is easy to choose C/S.
induction. chemical pain relief etc.as it is plentiful and available and
approved.  Try choosing a bath of warm water, dimmers on the lights and
privacy to birth undisturbed.  Not so easy to find outside of the home
environment.  Why is it so important to have undisturbed birth?  Read
some of Dr Sarah Buckley/Michel Odent's work.  Cheers, MM

I absolutely loved the Homebirth Conference. Unfortunately I could only
attend the Saturday session, but it was enough, Ithink. My pregnant
brain cried at least 5 times, both happy tears and sad tears for the
different speakers and the slides/videos of home water births. I would
love to order a copy of the CD of the day with all of the
info/references to present to my collegues at work... Can someone tell
me where online we can get it from?

Thanks, and thankyou to the organisers and speakers. Truly inspiring stuff.

[ozmidwifery] 24th HBA Conference Poster Presentations

2006-05-16 Thread jo

Hi
ozmidders,

Just
to let you know that the early bird rate for the Homebirth Conference finishes
on May 31st. We are only able to fit 200 in the Conference Centre
and spaces are filling up rapidly. If you are coming and have not yet
registered, it would be wise to do so quickly.

Below
is a call for abstracts for your interest

Jo
Hunter

HBA
National Convenor

Call for Abstracts :

Poster Presentations
24th Homebirth Australia
Conference

Background:

Homebirth Australia
is holding the 24th HBA national conference July 1-2, 2006 in Geelong,
Victoria.
The conference is titled "Bringing birth back Home".
Central to the theme is that care

from a known midwife is a safe model of care and represents
the gold standard for care given

to women through pregnancy, birth and postnatally. Many women
in regional and rural areas of Australia
are unable to access this model of care.  International and Australian
speakers will share their ideas and plans to enable birth to be reclaimed by
women and "bought home" into their communities to improve the
outcomes for
Australian women and their families.

Submissions of
abstracts are warmly welcomed by conference
delegates of current research or midwifery projects to be displayed at the 24th
Homebirth Australia
conference.  The criteria for submissions is as follows:

1) Abstracts of no more than 200 words are to be sent to the 24th
Homebirth Australia Conference poster presentation selection committee by email
or hard copy outlining the name of the project, institution, authors and
content of poster presentation by COB May 31 2006.
Please include your name, address, phone and email details.

2) Priority will be given to current projects relevant to
the conference theme of "bringing birth back home" to local communities
for indigenous and non-indigenous women across remote and rural Australia.  Relevant
research projects that identify or aim to improve access to homebirth,
one-to-one midwifery care or relevant maternity issues will also be considered.

3) Priority will be given to researchers who are also registered as a
delegate at the conference.

All submissions will be considered and we aim to include as
many as possible.  All applicants will be notified of the outcome of
their submissions by June 7, 2006. Please note the criteria for the

“25 years on, HOMEBIRTH, paving the way for maternity reform”

It is most likely that this will be the last opportunity to hear Sheila
speak in Australia, so if you are keen, pop it in your diary now and over
the next month we will have more information regarding venues and
registrations.

Warm regards

Hi All,
How many times has Sheila been to Australia? I saw her in Adelaide once in
the mid eighties then again in about 1990 or 91. Does anyone remember the
dates?
Cheers, Julie:)

[ozmidwifery] FW: Best for Women Conference reply!!!!!!!!!!

2002-09-04 Thread Justine Caines

Uncle Douggie and his buddies think they know what is best for women without
hearing from them. Funny the program is full even though my first contact
with him was last September!!! So all you Sydney listers how 'bout a rally
and hoo ha down at Darling Harbour? I'll bring the megaphone! I just need a
reminder as to when it is actually on!

[ozmidwifery] ] FW: Midwifery Led Birthing Unit Conference

2005-08-02 Thread Denise Hynd

PLEASE CIRCULATE

On behalf of the organizing committee we would like to invite you to join
us

in Newcastle for a one day international meeting on midwifery-led birthing
units.

As the number of obstetricians and GPs continues to decline many
communities
are facing the loss of local obstetric services and looking at other
models
of maternity care. At the same time the increasing rates of intervention
in

labour have led many women to question whether conventional obstetrician
based units should be the only option available to them to have their
babies. These pressures have renewed interest in midwifery-led models of
antenatal and intrapartum care. Local opinions about the benefits and
dangers of midwifery-led birthing units can quickly become polarized and
based on little hard evidence of either.

The aims of this meeting are to;

Provide an overview of the best available evidence on the safety,
cost-effectiveness and acceptability of midwifery-led birthing units

Share the experiences of the practical benefits and problems of setting up
such services in Australasia and the UK

Promote informed debate on the future direction for midwifery-led care

Who should attend? Midwives, obstetricians, paediatricians, GPs, CMOs and
hospital administrators who are interested in finding out more about or
sharing their experiences of midwifery led birthing units.

we have invited speakers from
around the world with some of the greatest experience of midwifery-led
care,

from all the key stakeholders and from the full range of opinions on the
subject. Most importantly we have tried to ensure that there will be
plenty

of time for questions and discussion.

You can register for the meeting by email by the 26th August 2005. If you
would like any

further information about the meeting, please contact us by emailing
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Whether you just want to be better informed or help shape the debate on
this

important area we hope you will be able to join us on September 2nd.

I attended a MT conference in Eugene Oregon
USA.
It was varied, catering to different skill levels and very, very interesting.
The Art of midwifery was blended with how to handle PPH’s Sh. Dystocia etc
etc. I met some wonderful midwives.  Worthwhile attending.  MM

[ozmidwifery] Australian Birth & Post-Natal Services Conference 2007

2006-11-28 Thread Kelly Zantey
Firstly I just want to note that Andrea has okay'ed me posting this message
:-)

Australian Birth & Post-Natal Services Conference 2007

I'd just like to let everyone know that the Australian Birth & Post Natal
Conference is now taking registrations:
http://www.abpnsconference2007.com.au
<http://www.abpnsconference2007.com.au/>

I'm pleased to announce that Senator Lyn Allison, the leader of the
Australian Democrats and Health Spokesperson has accepted the invitation to
come and speak, as well as many other wonderful speakers who you may not
know by name, but they are experts in their own right, in a range of areas
including marketing, public speaking, PR, lobbying, professional image and
much more. I'm even had a few words from our very own Andrea Robertson who
has much experience on the business side of birth & post-natal services, to
share her experiences.

I know you'll get so much out of this conference, which promises to be a
life-changing event, and to help birth & post-natal services become a force
to be reckoned with :-)

Please pass the details on to all working in this amazing industry, and
let's get serious about change, it's time for action. It's not going to
happen on it's own, so lets make it happen - the easiest, most professional
way possible. It's all about working smarter and not harder and the speakers
I have lined up have been chosen so we can do exactly that.

The Top Ten Excuses Not to Attend This Conference

1. Oh no - not another conference!

2. I already have more ideas than I can use.

3. I've heard enough of Kelly Zantey to last two life times.

4. I'm too busy already.

5. I know everything already.

6. I can't afford it anyway.

7. I don't believe a word you say.

8. What you teach won't work for me.

9. My wife or husband won't let me.

10.Aww blimey, I couldn't even think of 10

Excuse #1 - This is NOT just another conference. That's the whole point;
it's an unlocking of "secrets of success" of epic proportions showcased for
the very first time to the birth & post-natal services industry. It only
takes one good idea to make this worth it for you. We know you'll get more
than one.

Excuse #2 - This conference isn't necessarily about more ideas. It's about
implementation. There is also the "light bulb" phenomenon. You can know
about a strategy, hear about it repeatedly, but still not have it really
"click" for you. Then there is that one magic moment, 'Ah Ha' or blinding
flash of the obvious, where somebody says "it" in a different way and
suddenly you get it, own it and can act upon it. Can't and won't happen if
you're watching Big Brother on TV.

Excuse #3 - What can I possibly get from Kelly Zantey? Hey if you think
you've heard enough from me, I understand that. This conference is NOT about
me. There will be many expert speakers in their field, who I have asked to
share their wisdom of what they do. You are the expert in what you do; they
are the expert in what they do. You will hear many concepts, breakthroughs
and opportunities covered, some of which have never been in the spotlight
before. I'll make you re-evaluate, reconsider, re-invent, re-engineer, and
even re-invigorate. The fact is, it's only when a person wants, needs and
most of all appreciates this help, that you can really help them.

Excuse #4 - You're too busy. It's how you work and what you work on that's
important. Being "too busy" is really a bad excuse. Many of us get caught up
in the trap of expending ever increasing effort, for ever diminishing
results, or burning out. If that's you, boy oh boy, you do need to attend!

Excuse #5 - I know too much already. The more successful you are the quicker
and easier it is to get a return on your investment, because even tiny
tweaks can equate to big differences, just as tiny holes can sink big ships.
Years back it was pointed out to me that the person who can read but doesn't
is no better off than the illiterate. Similarly, the person who knows about
a certain marketing strategy but doesn't act on it is no better off then a
marketing ignoramus.

Excuse #6 - I can't afford it. I have empathy for those who shudder at the
thought of paying for a conference; however it costs good money to get some
of the expert speakers involved in this conference to show up. Getting some
of them enthused to trek to a conference in Melbourne was neither easy nor
cheap! So come now and cry once - rather than many times if things remain in
the status quo. We want to give you the best there is on offer, and not
waste your valuable money on those who cannot offer true value to you and us
as a profession

[ozmidwifery] Re: Was National get-together/Conference now references

2002-12-05 Thread Andrea Robertson
Hello Kathy,

You'll find the references that I have used on our web site - if you go to
the Essential Parent pages, you'll see that I have uploaded some of the
most useful sections of Preparing for Birth: Mothers (drugs and obstetric
procedures etc) onto the site, and have included the references. If these
are not what you are looking for, please let me know exactly what you are
after and I will be happy to oblige.

Warm regards,

Andrea

Hi,

I've changed the subject on this one - nearly missed Robyn's post... can we
please change the title when the content changes from the original string?

Andrea

Hi Denise.

I am definitely going to the ABA conference, so will catch
up with you there.  I got in contact with Rochelle (Hi!) and will attend
one of the Birth Place meetings in Joondalup.  I just need to look up to
see if there is one tomorrow because I have the day off.

Things in JHC are ok - rather hectic though.  I went to
an 'obstetric emergencies' lecture today, and it was good to recap all of the
manouvers again.

Talk to you soon,

Jo

[ozmidwifery] ACMI Frontiers of Midwifery Conference in September 2003

2002-08-12 Thread Trish David

Dear List. I have just opened my ACMI Newsletter to have the flier for
the Biennial Conference fall into my lap. I LOVE IT. Love the logo, love
the colours, but especially love the 'frontiers' we have to address:
envrionment/space, emotion, culture, language, self-perception, midwives
and health promotion. These are new and exciting themes, reflecting the
frontier motif. I am sure they will generate creative abstracts and
encourage midwives and women to consider putting their ideas together to
make this the 'best conference ever'. Keep up the good work NT midwives!
For those who don't get the mag, look at www.acmi.org.au. Cheers, Trish

Hi all fellow listers

just a thought Re: NMAP..has anyone thought of the NUS for their endorsement of NMAP.the NUS represents over 600,000 uni students nationally.across appox...50 campuses around Australiathese are parents and potential parentsand are very politically active individualsAlso of interest are the women's dept of the NUSthey will be holding the FEMX NUS National Conference on Melbourne in October..see link below

Again...another avenue to promote NMAP and to get it on the political agenda.and to raise attention to NMAP within the women's movements in Australia..birthing issues seem to be still"the forgotten women's movement" ...lets get NMAP on their agenda

[ozmidwifery] International Breech Birth Conference, March 20 & 21 2006

2006-03-06 Thread G Lemay
Breech Birth Conference – International perspectives on the management
of term breech pregnancies and birth

http://www.breechbirthconference.com
March 20th & 21st 2006 Vancouver, BC, Canada

There has been a radical change over the last few years in the approach
to breech pregnancy. The publication of the term breech trial led to
many centres across the world opting for management with caesarean
section, resulting in the dramatic decrease in the number of vaginal births.

In turn this has led to many obstetricians, midwives and family
practitioners never having seen – much less managed - a planned vaginal
breech birth. The skills of those who can provide experience are all too
quickly disappearing, both from retirement and fear in a litigious
environment.

Aims and Objectives

Aims of the Conference

We aim to bring together practitioners and researchers from around the
world to discuss issues such as research and safety, as well as
techniques associated with breech birth. It is to be a multidisciplinary
forum, and will contain discussions, presentations and interactive
workshops.

Objectives

* Analyze research in this area, and hear of current work in the field
* Participate in hand-on skills workshops for both vaginal breech birth
and emergency skills, led by both doctors and midwives
* Hear about some of the different approaches to breech birth around the
world, including the rationale for selected use of oxytoxics in second
stage, and the preferences for different birth positions

[ozmidwifery] The 24th HBA Conference and spaces for children

2006-06-22 Thread Sally-Anne Brown

Dear all

We sincerely appreciate the efforts everyone is
making to attend the 24th Homebirth Australia Conference - now just one week
away.

By way of clarification we have become aware that
some delegates are bringing their children with them to the conference who have
not advised us they are doing so.

As you can all appreciate - we have already had to
move the conference once three weeks ago as the number of delegates booked to
attend had more than doubled the numbers we had expected.  The only
remaining available venue we could move to is the centre we have
booked at the Mercure Hotel. It is not possible for us to move the venue again
to cater for more delegates or children coming with delegates we were not
advised of.

Please be aware we have clearly cited in our
information pack to delegates the following points:

a) Breast - fed babies are warmly welcomed to
attend the conference

b) We offerred childcare for delegates wishing to
use this service and the childcare option is now FULLY BOOKED

c) There is an unfenced pool in one of the walkways
between the function centre and the mercure hotel where all meal breaks and the
conference expo will be held. The main foyer to the function centre leads
directly onto the pool area and the doors will be closed but not locked.
We do not have the staff to supervise children who may be coming and going from
the funstion centre.  Full responsibility for children attending the
conference must be taken by parents please as we absolutely snowed under in
organising this eventand it is not reasonable to expect the handful of
organisers to do this :)

We are now full booked at this venue and cannot
offer childcare or a 'separate space' for children attending the
conference.  Every seat in both venues for the program is taken by
delegates, except of course breast -fed babies who are able to sit on a
'lap'. Literally the only remaining space for children to sit is on the floor
and it will not be possible to do this in front of the auditaurium as there
is no room there - due to the live feed out we are doing for mums with unsettled
bubs into the foyer and the audiovisual set up.

Please be aware the venue is a major
hotel that has other guests staying - and is
therefore essentially a public space - we do not have the staff or volunteers to
either co-ordinate an off site additional childcare facility but for those
delegates planning to attend with children we are not aware were coming to the
event may want to consider organising this as another
option. Some delegates have advised us they have a support person attending
who is helping with childcare, primarily at the accommodation venue
booked.

We have made every effort to accommodate breast fed
babies and children we have been advised of that are coming to the conference
and have co-ordinated several parenting safe spaces to do this. We have aimed
to honour the traditional philosophy of ensuring the venue is woman and
baby and child friendly. Please be aware that if you are planning to bring a
child to the conference we need to be advised of this asap if you have not
already done so.

All information for delegates has been either
emailed (or abt to be) as well as been available on the website at www.homebirthaustralia.org for
your reference.  If I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate
to contact me on 04319 46647 or by email.

Please note you do not need to reconfirm a booking
for childcare or advise us if you are bringing a breast fed baby if you have
already advised us of this with your booking.

Warm Regards

2007

Firstly I just want to note that Andrea has okay'ed me posting this message
:-)

Australian Birth & Post-Natal Services Conference 2007

I'd just like to let everyone know that the Australian Birth & Post Natal
Conference is now taking registrations:
http://www.abpnsconference2007.com.au
<http://www.abpnsconference2007.com.au/>

Excuse #1 - This is NOT just another conference. That's the whole point;
it's an unlocking of "secrets of success" of epic proportions showcased for
the very first time to the birth & post-natal services industry. It only
takes one good idea to make this worth it for you.

The more successful you are the quicker
and easier it is to get a return on your investment, be

repaying it :-) I worked out the problem, I can only send emails to this

bizarre way. I thought technology was supposed to be getting better

Excuse #1 - This is NOT just another conference. That's the whole point;
it's an unlocking of "secrets of success" of epic proportions showcased for
the very first time to the birth & post-natal services industry. It only
takes one good idea to make this worth it for you.

You will hear many concepts, breakthroughs
and opportunities covered, some of which have never been in the spotlight
before. I'll make you re-evaluate, reconsider
