Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Clock applet for Touch/Radio/Controller
There is now a 1.2 version of Custom Clock available with the following changes: - Added support for Custom Clock Helper plugin - Added new Digital Clock style with red text The big news this time is the optional Custom Clock Helper plugin which is available as a separate plugin for Squeezebox Server. By installing this plugin in Squeezebox Server you will be able to edit all clock styles through the Squeezebox Server web interface. You will also be able to create your completely own styles. After you have changed a style with Custom Clock Helper plugin, you will need to goto Settings/Screen/Custom Clock Settings/Styles on the Controller/Radio/Touch and select another style and then select the style you just updated. This will refresh the settings for the Custom Clock applet and make it use your latest changes. When you create your own style, make sure to enter a name and select one or several models which you want the style to be available on. So let's go and create some new cool clock styles and share your work here so other users can use your own custom style. QUESTION TO USERS THAT TRY THE CUSTOM CLOCK HELPER - Is there any need to keep all the Custom Clock settings menus on the Touch/Radio/Controller or would it be better to just have a style selection on the device and make all customizations through Custom Clock Helper in Squeezebox Server interface ? There is some more information on the wiki page that describes what images you need to create to make your own custom clock style. http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Custom_Clock_applet#Customization NOTE! To take advantage of the new clock style changes, you will need to go into the Custom Clock Settings/Styles menu select another style and select the old one again and step left out of the menu. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68269 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm not excited about SBS 7.4 I have to ask: If sleep monitoring is important to you, and if 7.3.4 isn't missing anything you can't live without, why not go back to 7.3.4, for the time being? So do I. I had the beta of 7.4 installed and was not amused when the (beta) migration to mySB.com started one night and everything was broken down with all my SN favorites gone. I went back to 7.3.3 immediately. But as you know SN user respective users of mySB.com are now *forced* by logitech to update. And I'm a *daily* mySB.com user. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC vs BBCiPlayer plugins
The BBC create the Web pages from the schedule info and so the assigned program id are usually known when Web page are available so AlienBBC knows a program id even before the program is broadcast and so it can start playing it as soon as the program file has been created. BBCiPlayer uses the XML feed which is only updated a few times a days (I feel it is about every 3 hrs). The issue is not RealAudio vs Flash/AAC etc. but the source of program id. AlienBBC could use the id to get the Flash/AAC or WMA streams instead of RealAudio. AlienBBC is slower to display menus (i.e. uses more CPU and more network GETs) and from a maintenance point of view needs more effort to keep up to date as the web pages changes often. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69588 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC vs BBCiPlayer plugins
The better Favorite handling will go away when BBC stop RealAudio streams in March 2010 - the real solution is to fix SBS alarm handling of streams. If you want to wake up to live BBC streams - I suggest using the WMA streams. It is the intention to create two Plugins - one for RealAudio support (still used by RAI Italy and RTE Ireland) and another for WMA support for older players on Linux and OSX. These plugins will therefore just provide audio format support - no station handling. The user will use Tune-in and favorites to play the streams / files. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69588 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Repeated restart now messages usually means the download failed in some way and the checksum doesn't match. I've seen this before as Softsqueeze is a large download for a plugin and I think a timeout kicks in and truncates the file. You can check if this is happening by enabling in WebUI Settings/Advanced/Logging server.plugins to INFO and make sure the check box save logging settings for use at next application restart is checked and then click apply and then restart SBS. Then check the server log for message about Softsqueesze after restart and all the plugin restart prompts. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62060 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

OK - you've confirmed my suspicions. I think this problem is due to a change in Plugin downloader in 7.4.so I need to redo the plugin to make it more reliable in future. In the meantime a possible workaround. All downloads get cached so a bad download will just be reused each time you try so when you stop SBS - delete the FileCache directory in the Cache directory used by SBS (you can find this in Settings/Information) The timeout value is controlled by the value in Setting/Advanced/Network/Radio Station Timeout so if you change this value to max (60) it might works as long as you don't have a slow connection and/or no network congestion. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62060 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Now the display for music from last.fm and internet radio stations does no longer switch (wich is correct since neither COMPOSER nor GROUPING is set) but instead of the artist name the string TITLESWITCHERARTIST is constantly displayed. For example Top 40-Pop (TITLESWITCHERARTIST) instead of Top 40-Pop (Bayern 3 97,3) for internet radio station Bayern 3 or Thriller (TITLESWITCHERARTIST) instead of Thriller (Michael Jackson) for music from Last.fm. Michael Herger has just explained that in his new version of MusicInfoScr the COMPOSER tag is removed when an online stream is played.
