Just stumbled onto this thread. Am just extracting and uploading approx 25K files. A question for the more experienced than I with MusicIP ... how can I get it to manually fingerprint my FLAC files? Having moved to a relatively inexpensive Raspberry Pi3, and after a bit of back and forth to the forum to set it up correctly, I am finding it fast, easy to update LMS, handles FLAC 24/192 effortlessly, and scans the library on the NAS in a third of the time than the NAS did it. I have made a bold assumption that my ReadyNas Duo V2 runs ARMv5. Correct? If not, read no further!:p I have installed both SPOTTY 1.3.3 and SpottyARMv5Bin plugins into LMS on the ReadyNAS and they both installed. Settings/Advanced/Spotty Spotify For Squeezebox has error message "Spotty requires the Perl module IO::Socket::SSL. You can NOT use Spotty without this module. Uninstalled Spotty from LMS on piCoreplayer (Raspberry Pi3). Restarted LMS twice (to be sure), and restarted pCP also between LMS restarts. Reinstalled Spotty, restarted everything again. Now it is working. Spotty is also now appearing in LMS GUI on my computer - it had disappeared previously. Symptoms were every Spotify track I played using Spotty would pause for 5 to 10 seconds approx 10 to 30 seconds before the end of the track. Spotty was not available in LMS GUI. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
This *may* be Spotty related, but this is where I will start as it arrived with Spotty! Choose a song from my library on server and play it. DSTM and Spotty work to create a list of 26 songs. That then becomes 51 songs. At that point I save the playlist for another time, but when I play that playlist the Spotify tracks keep pausing for around 5 to10 seconds, maybe every minute or so. I do not think it is re-buffering as the SBT screen doesn't report anything (it usually does during re-buffering), and the play button still indicates that it is playing, but it is paused, continues from where it stopped. Have reset everything, internet, LMS, piCoreplayer, Raspberry, network, etc., and it still happens. If I just choose a track and then rely on DSTM and Spotty it plays perfectly. Any thoughts? I have two SBT units both synced and using my Raspberry piCoreplayer with frequently updated LMS 7.9.1. Playing an MP3 album from my media library on the server works correctly until I turn on the second player, then the music pauses every 30 seconds or so before continuing. After a while they skip to the last track in the playlist, and plays that. Then DSTM kicks in and another 25 tracks are added but the players pause and then skip to the last of the newly added files. I have only noticed this since about Thursday. Can not think of anything that I have changed at that time. Has been happening just now but there are no new entries in LMS server log. I am finding tracks coming through from Spotify to have an over emphasized bottom end compared to other sources via LMS such as 320 MP3 files on my server and FLAC files up to 24/192. Sounds coming from my turntable (vinyl LPs) are much more in line in this regard to my MP3 and FLAC files, and show the Spotify tracks to be inferior. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin
Long shot to post in a thread that seemed to die in 2014, but here we go! Trying to load this plugin into LMS 7.9.1 on pCP and am able to place the same folder of files that I used in my ReadyNAS (successfully) into the plugin folder in slimserver, installed plugins - after restarting LMS the LMS gui shows that a restart is required to install new plugin DENONAVP, but after restart it is not in the list of plugins, plus the files have disappeared from the plugin folder! Have backed up the pCP via pCP gui after loading the files in. There must be a way, but I can't stumble onto it... 23244 Any help appreciated! Two differences this time around... first, I chose the standard pCP, not the "audio optimized" version as I did last time, and second, I have not upgraded to LMS 7.9.1, am running 7.9.0 for now. SPOTTY was available in SETTINGS, PLUGINS, and has loaded successfully (SPOTIFY removed, also). I have also waited until SPOTTY was installed and working before setting up media folders and scanning. And, oh, the Raspberry pi3 with pCP and LMS is just so much faster than the ReadyNAS duo2, and 24/192 FLAC files play beautifully, not possible on the ReadyNAS. Scanning is so much quicker too. Now to decide if I update to 7.9.1... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0
I thought I was on top of this one. I am running a ReadyNAS duo V2 so with SPOTTY arriving I purchased a Raspberry pi3, followed forum instructions to load pCP, re-size FS, install LMS, point it at my music files on ReadyNAS, upgrade LMS from 7.9.0 to 7.9.1, open the browser for pCP LMS, set up media library, scan media library, select the pCP as music library on my SBTs, all great, able to play from the library via SBT & pCP LMS. Now, to load SPOTTY... On LMS browser interface I go to SETTINGS, PLUGINS, and there is no SPOTTY in the list. While there I untick SPOTIFY, apply, and restart LMS and it is gone. So I put in all the repos that I had before including the one Michael provided for SPOTTY and restart. SPOTTY is now in the list so I tick it, apply, wait about 10 minutes and restart. Also then restart cPC. Now can't get into the LMS browser interface. Back to the pCP interface, and LMS is showing as not running, even though the LMS autostart option is set to yes. So I restart LMS, and it appears to be running, but still unable to access it via browser. So restart Raspberry Pi and pCP and LMS shows as not running. Try restarting LMS, and the info window reports several lines and the last line being "Slimserver Running pid:5621", but the red circle and cross is next to "LMS is not running". Doesn't matter how many times I restart everything this state remains. It appears loading SPOTTY in has broken it. Any thoughts or suggestions? Becoming very frustrated with it! Interestingly I tried several times yesterday to install SPH from Third Party Plugins but no success. Then I saw it also listed in Michael's Slim Stuff and tried it from there. Interesting that a different splash screen comes up. It still didn't work. I then tried ticking both listings of SPH (3rd Party & Michael's) but it still didn't work. I tried a few more times, and eventually I gave up. This morning I checked and it is installed! It appears to now allow play of Spotify tracks from LMS on ReadyNas via SB Player on android phone, as the progress bar on Squeeze Ctrl and on my SBTs indicate the track is playing... but no volume on SBT or SB Player. Volume hardware volume control on phone usually controls "media volume" when playing a track but is now indicating "Ring volume". Today I opened up my browser to LMS server settings - on my readyNAS and it was asking for a restart. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin
I have been watching the developments here for quite a while, and now I think it is time to try it out but I can not get the plugin to load into LMS. I enter http://sourceforge.net/projects/lms-youtube/files/dev/repo-sf.xml into "Additional Repositories" apply, and restart the NAS. The plugin shows up as available under "Philippe's squeezecenter plugins". I select it and apply, then restart. It shows up under the list of active plugins but un-ticked and reads "Plugin Unable To Load". I have gone back through this thread about 20 pages but can not find anything specific about compatability with my ReadyNas. All I can think is that my Netgear ReadyNas Duo V2 is using a Marvell ARM CPU and this may not be compatible? Any help or information appreciated. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
Hi Michael, as you know during a "new & changed" scan nothing seems to be exported from SmartMix. Some tracks that I have added recently but not yet exported due to this problem have been selected by SmartMix as part of a mix. The artist has no relationship to the seed track either. I do not use genre tags on my files. How can I look into the tags of a file to identify if it has been tagged by TED? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
Hi Michael I am not sure if it happened with the last update of SmartMix to v 1.6.5 but now when LMS performs a "new and changed media file" scan after I have loaded new files on the drive the scan finds the new tracks but it no longer experts them for Smartmix information/tagging. Is it possible that there is something in the update that has stopped this step? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
Hi Michael, I note that I had a SmartMix update waiting for me in LMS today. V1.6.3. What has been updated/changed? Cheers, and thanks again! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: YouTube Plugin
Today I installed the YouTube plugin into LMS v7.9.0 running on a ReadyNas Duo V2. It appears to work in as much as I can search and select specific material, but it often shows that it is going to play a different YouTube clip than selected (sometimes it shows the selected clip), but it *always* tries to play the clip for a few seconds with no sound, and then briefly shows an error message saying that "the redirection limit has been reached", or something to that effect. Is this a common issue? I have tried looking through this thread but haven't seen it mentioned. Cheers! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
I see today that SmartMix has updated in LMS to 1.5.5, so my new log file is with 1.5.5. Settings: SmartMix = use music services & local files; Spotify country = Australia in Spotify & in SmartMix; ADVANCED/LOGGING/logging set to "Server"; ADVANCED/LOGGING/Advanced log settings/SmartMix set to "Debug"; all settings "applied" Attempted mix = successful 16563 Note: when I change settings in "ADVANCED/LOGGING/" and selct apply, the page refresshes and the settings appear to have been lost. i.e. the settings revert back to default which is Advanced log settings set to "error" for everything including SmartMix, but Scan.Auto & Server.Plugins are set to "Debug" & Server.Memory is set to "Off". Is that normal or is something wrong?
