I'm in London on Virgin. Broadband is generally pretty speedy and stable (iPlayer and Netflix work fine). Paradise Flac streams had worked brilliantly for the last year or so, all of them including the interactive one. However for the past couple of weeks the interactive one is unusable. I get pauses/rebuffering a few times every song. The non-interactive one seems generally OK, and the 320 AAC is fine. But (and maybe this is me imagining it) I don't think the regular FLAC stream sounds as good as the interactive one. I've tried on a few different players and it's the same for all implying it's the server not the individual players. I wondered if there is some way of increasing the buffer size? philsparks's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67500 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111877 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

No idea if it's the work that Bill has been doing on the flac stream, but the LMS plugin seems to be much better today. I managed to get an hour before a spell of stuttering and then another 30mins before a random jump to a Rebecca announcement. May be totally coincidental or not. I've tried it using VLC on a PC (same home network, same flac URL) and it works perfectly. There's just something odd with my version of LMS and how it interects with the RP flac stream. I've tried other HD radio stations and they seem to work fine (e.g. the BBC HD test on the proms a year or so ago), just RP which is a real bummer as it's my favourite station. philsparks's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67500 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That's right, it's never worked for me. For most of the time I've had LMS running on a WHS-2011 server with a fully wired network (internet is 200mb/s and works fine with HD TV so I don't think that's the issue). A while ago (maybe 6mths?) I tried uninstalling LMS from the server and putting it on a RPi (I didn't turn the server off as that's where all my flac CDs are stored) but I did uninstall LMS from the server. It seemed to be pretty much the same with this set up so I reverted to LMS on the server. This did make me think that it's either something to do with my network (which is odd as it runs perfectly for every other device and application) or maybe something to do with WHS-2011. We listen to Radio Paradise pretty much all day so are quite sensitive to these jumps. My gut feel is that the stops & jumps happen less often now, maybe every 4 or 5 songs, but it hasn't gone away. If there's anything that I can do to help, please let me know. I'm Linux dimbo so you'd have to be super clear, but I'm happy to help. As an aside the AAC stream works perfectly, it's often left on 24x7 and the flac stream on a phone works perfectly too. cheers Phil philsparks's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67500 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I can't add anything remotely as technical as this (it's beyond me) but just to say I still regularly have the same jumping issue. I have the latest version of LMS running on a WHS-2011 server. It works perfectly for everything else on LMS, it's just the RP Flac streams (all of them) that I have issues with. every 2-3 songs the song ends early and jumps either to a Bill or Rebecca announcement or to another song. The weird thing is that it every time it does the jump thing it steps forward a few songs and gradually gets out of sync with the normal AAC stream. I was listening to the Flac stream this morning. I then went into another room that was playing the AAC 320mbs stream. The AAC stream was around an hour behind the Flac stream. If you switch RP-flac off and then go back in, it is in sync with the AAC stream until it does one of it's little jumps. philsparks's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67500 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I just changed my players to "proxy" rather than "direct". I -think -it's a bit better, but not really sorted. Been listening for approx. 30mins and had two skips. The first one was mid song and it jumped to a short Rebecca "your listening to radio paradise" announcement. The second time, halfway through a song it stopped and another song started playing. This was listening to a Pi-2 with PiCorePlayer loaded on it. LMS is sitting on a WHS-11 server. Although the most common skip seems to stop a song half way through and then go to an announcement, I'm sure I've had instances where a song stops half way through and then another song starts. I have LMS on a WHS-2011 server along with all my music and videos. It's always fully up to date. It's always been pretty much unusable, I get the skipping thing every few songs, it's such a shame as the Flac stream is noticeable better than the the 320mb/s stream (I have a Chord Mojo dac on the kitchen system and a Teddy Pardo dac on the main rig). About a year ago I got so fed up with it that I bought a R-Pi3 and installed LMS on it. It was a bit of a fiddle to point it towards all my music on the server. I uninstalled LMS from the server. It was definitely a bit better, but still did the skipping thing. Maybe it skipped every 5 or songs rather than every 2 or 3. This would imply that it's something odd about my network, but if that's the case it is ONLY Radio Paridse on the LMS that has an issue, everything else, BBC iPlayer etc works fine. I guess I should have done some more exhausive testing, e.g. turn off the server and anything else on the network and use the R-Pi server in stand alone mode. But ... I just gave up, went back to LMS on the server and stick to 320mb/s. If I use the Radio Paradise webplayer on either a phone or PC plugged straight into a dac it works perfectly. Doing that right now and it's been going for approx 2 hours perfectly. Just weird. Hope this helps track it down. I got fed up with it and bought a new raspberry Pi-3 and installed LMS on that and uninstalled it from the WHS server. Unfortunately I still get the same random restarts. I think it's less often - I probably get 4-5 songs before it jumps to a new song or to Bill. This implies it's something on the network that causes the jump. (we have a Asus router and most of the network is wired). I guess it could be the WHS server that is somehow interfering with the LMS, I need to leave the Windows server on as that's where all the music is stored.
