Perhaps a different solution would be more appropriate, but it renders OK here. Perhaps the descriptions could be a bit nicer as well. Thanks, Jochem Hi, RUN_DEPENDS is not correct, I think you must have this: RUN_DEPENDS= devel/vte,-python \ devel/py-notify also, you must fmt -w 72 pkg/DESCR. Thanks for looking at it. Actually, devel/py-notify is only needed if you want the ActivityWatch plugin to work. Terminator itself runs fine without it, so i'd consider py-notify more of a recommended thing. I've changed the devel/vte to devel/vte,-python and reformatted the pkg/DESCR file. New port attached. I'll contact upstream about getting the patches integrated there. [patch] graphics/xv (fixes segmentation fault)
Attached patch fixes crash in xv in smoothY(). The for()-loop iterates one too many times, and make clptr to point to out-of-bound memory, and later, cptr is assigned based on clptr (line 393) and causes a crash when dereferenced (line 398). Test image[1] from post[2] with following command on my 1366x768 display (on amd64): $ xv -rmode 5 -quit -max openbsd.jpg The patch also fixes another for(i=0; i =shigh; i++) case in smoothXY() (line 471). I don't have a test-case for this, but visually looks wrong. --patrick p.s., note that this patch is post-jump-patch applied. new feature in dpb: fetch
Spent a lot of time working on this actually, and it's more or less working. If you invoke dpb -fN, then it will create n jobs specifically for fetching distfiles. Those are local (should be movable to -DFETCHHOST=value, will happen soon) and don't really consume cpu (apart from the checksum part). I even tested it by wiping all my distfiles and found a few fun surprises in the process. The heuristics to choose which distfile to fetch first are totally rudimentary for now, so it doesn't work all that great with an empty distfiles directory. For normal work, it performs great: instead of having a lot of dpb job sitting around waiting for fetch to occur, fetch will happen on the fly, and having a correct progress meter for fetching distfiles is good too. Compared to old mirror-maker, dpb uses ftp -C in a somewhat smart way: it creates temporary files that will get moved after they're checksummed. (that was today's commits, actually, I had to finish the logic of that part). dpb does not perform too great with FETCH_MANUALLY either, it will just log the corresponding messages, and NOT restart the jobs correctly: after fetching manually, you will have to abort and restart dpb, for now. To do list: - better handling of restart on lock removal. - better heuristics for fetch order: should probably start with small distfiles with no dependencies to avoid queue starvation, then switch to an heuristics directly tied to the build engine, then do the largest files first (icky part is to figure out when to switch strategies, no smart idea yet). - clean-up engine some more and extend to do regress. - document the new file names.

[workaround] x11/mlterm-2.9.0
Hi, At OpenBSD-4.8, I found mlterm-2.9.0 works wrong with i386 and amd64. It looks working, but no characters are displayed. The ports for OpenBSD-4.9 has same problem. To compare, I tried mlterm-3.0.2 from tar ball and it worked. But even if newer version, the configure option --with-imagelib=gdk-pixbuf2 makes same problem. If you want to use mlterm and don't want wallpaper function, it is worth to remove that option from Makefile. Of course there is the best way to debug mlterm itself... Or should version in base be updated? Thanks, Chris Bennett Well, obviously I should just do a slightly earlier version that works with base perl. Or see if the newer version works anyway, maybe look at what changed in Locale::Maketext to see whether it's important or whether they just listed whatever was current when they rolled the release because they didn't want to test against older ones. version 0.79 works with base perl. Crash when using the graphviz library
Hi Originally I asked the forwarded question shown below on m...@openbsd.org and got this answer: glib2 is now built with threads enabled so anything directly or indirectly pulling this in (in this case via gtk+2) must either also be built with threads, or must be run with LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libpthread.so So my new question is: What exactly is the reason that it does not load its dependencies on its own? I think I should not have to care about the dependencies of gvc/glib2, instead those libs should be linked to them and the system should load it (even when the library gets loaded dynamically). Regards, Reto Original Message Subject: Crash when using the graphviz library Date: Thu, 19 May 2011 14:32:39 +0200 From: Reto Schneider mailinglis...@reto-schneider.ch To: m...@openbsd.org Hi I have a fresh installation of openBSD 4.9-release where the sample code of the graphviz library fails. It also fails on openBSD 4.8 but works perfectly on 4.7/Ubuntu/Debian/FreeBSD/etc. How to get the error: Install graphviz: # export PKG_PATH=http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/pub/OpenBSD/4.9/packages/i386/; # pkg_add -r graphviz Creating the file sample.c with this content (http://www.graphviz.org/pdf/libguide.pdf, found at page 40): #include gvc.h int main(int argc, char **argv) { GVC_t *gvc; graph_t *g; FILE *fp; gvc = gvContext(); if (argc 1) fp = fopen(argv[1], r); else fp = stdin; g = agread(fp); gvLayout(gvc, g, dot); gvRender(gvc, g, plain, stdout); gvFreeLayout(gvc, g); agclose(g); return (gvFreeContext(gvc)); } Compile it (like shown in the example Makefile on page 39): $ gcc -o sample sample.c `pkg-config --libs --cflags libgvc` Run it: $ ulimit -c unlimited $ echo graph G{node1;}|./sample ./sample:/usr/local/lib/libgthread-2.0.so.2600.0: undefined symbol 'pthread_getschedparam' lazy binding failed! () The workaround I use for now is to link the program sample directly against pthread: $ gcc -o sample sample.c `pkg-config --libs --cflags libgvc` -pthread I have found a commit to the ports which does exactly this for the dot tool (without this patch it fails like the code above): http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/ports/math/graphviz/patches/patch-cmd_dot_Makefile_in?rev=1.1;content-type=text%2Fx-cvsweb-markup Now I am wondering it I did something wrong or if there is a problem with openBSD 4.8 and 4.9. webkit 1.4 woes
I understand the push to get newer code in and getting things fixed as we go however webkit 1.4 seems to be a little more broken than we'd like. These are the issues I have currently run into: * copy/paste functionality broken between xterm and webkit * copy link location broken between xterm and webkit * user name / password window shows up at 0,0 instead of centered in app on correct screen * after entering a username and password the load basically stalls and webkit sits there forever waiting for something to happen that will never complete; one has to reload the page before it finishes * several new crashes * Pages seem to load slower I see all these issues on epiphany and xxxterm. I'd like to suggest we roll back to the previous version until 1.4 is a bit less buggy.
