[qmailtoaster] deepofix (qmt-iso wannabe?)
does anybody already know about deepofix mailserver ?? http://sourceforge.net/projects/deepofix/ http://deeproot.in/deepofix it's said just download the cd then it will install linux and all thing needed for mailserver. (like qmt-iso) and it seems it uses almost the same opensource package (on the website I found word like clamav, spamasssassins, qmail-ldap) they also had global addressbook (using qmail-ldap??) but they have more advance administration web-console which can configure smtp settings. better qmailadmin and vqadmin to manipulate 250 users instantly.. and so on.. any way deepofix iso is only 200MB Jake, any chance to create qmt-iso (also qmt with features like that?) - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[qmailtoaster] rcpthosts file
Hello, I'm using qmail toaster with fedora 6. I have configured POP3 and IMAP for my company mail server and I'm doing the first tests right now. When I send an email from a company account with same domain to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] account I've created with the same company domain it receives these emails from POP3 account and IMAP account. When I send an email from [EMAIL PROTECTED], IMAP and POP3, to an outside email like [EMAIL PROTECTED] again it is a success. The problem starts when I try to send email from outside to this [EMAIL PROTECTED] account, IMAP or POP3. I receive the following email in Outlook express client when trying to send: 'Server Response: 553, sorry that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.5.3 - chkuser)' The contents of my rcpthosts file are: mail-server.company.com company.com company.net I understand that one can not enter in the rcphosts file EVERY domain in this world so what should be the solution to this problem? [qmailtoaster] Restore Backup to new version
Hi Guys I’m interested in doing a test restore of our toaster backups to a new machine. This is so I can test if, in the event of a real disaster the restore can be done fairly smoothly etc, but will also give us a kind of hot spare, so to speak. What I’d like to know is this: If I build the new test machine with the latest version of the toaster, what are the chances of the restore working properly, bearing in mind the live machine isn’t running the latest version (I don’t like messing with it too much!)? Hi, I have all the company IPs in tcp.smtp and it looks to work fine but the problem is from outside the company. I use authentication for this [EMAIL PROTECTED] user with /home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw on /var/qmail/supervise/smtp/run and /var/qmail/supervise/pop3/run. The ISO is just an installation for the QMT packages. I throw in a couple little extra features to make some things easier. I'll look at DeepRoot's management page and see if it's adaptable for QMT. And yeah their ISO is only 200M. It's also Debian, not Redhat based. That makes it a little easier to strip down, and I'm sure theirs is rather stripped. My ISO is geared to be a full server once the installation's done. smime.p7s Description: S/MIME Cryptographic Signature

Using a tool to manage the queue (like qmhandle) is the preferred method of doing that. You may be able to fix it with the queue-repair tool or qmhandle (there are a couple other queue fixing tools as well). RE: [qmailtoaster] rcpthosts file
It's probably the client side with the problem. The ip's in the tcp.smtp file are the ip's outside the company that you want to allow to relay mail through your server. I'm assuming the problem is as follows. External Client A from outside has email configured to relay through your server, so in Outlook outgoing smtp server = your mail server. However client a's ip address is not in tcp.smtp and they are not using smtp server with authentication. I'm not entirely sure, but I think that's roughly the problem you are running into. do you get the same error when you email from say hotmail? What is the exact bounce message? Also what do the logs files say at the time mail is sent? tail /var/log/maillog tail /var/log/qmail/smtp/current -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 02 May 2007 11:32 To: qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com Subject: RE: [qmailtoaster] rcpthosts file Hi, I have all the company IPs in tcp.smtp and it looks to work fine but the problem is from outside the company. Re: [qmailtoaster] rcpthosts file

Have you tried vdeldomain and then rectreate it? It all looks ok, but obviously there is something not working as it should. Try deleteting the domains and recreating them if you can. Hi Mark, Something seems not to be happening correctly as was expected for the rcpthosts file, though I have not yet established. As a temporary solution to that you can remove or rename the rcpthost file eg rcpthost.bak and you will be able to send and receive from any domain. It worked here. Hi warren, I had installed it on CentOS 4.4, and had experienced the same problem till I removed the rcpthost file then it worked. Using webmin they is an option of not using the rctphost file. On my set up I never modified the assign file at all it was all done by qmail. It is possible that something in the assign file is incorrect, or file permissions/ownership have changed in which case it may be the cause of the problem, but it's hard to say. It sounds like it might be easier, to uninstall qmail and start from scratch. Basically, all I did on mine is what you have done. vadddomain -r domain.com (-r random password) That's all that you need to do, then vadduser -r [EMAIL PROTECTED] and send mail to that user. If it fails and causes problems at this point, then qmail installation may be corrupt or it has something to do with FC6, but only uninstalling QMT and then starting QMT over will help you with that. If your installation is QMT, you can use the web interface to do all that configuration, add or delete domain and users as well. Have you tested that?. I hope you have Vqadmin-Toaster as one of installed packages. Ok, I corrected that message. It was the company_gr and company_net tables in vpopmail database that were still there...I drop them and now I created the domain.com normally. This was for the .com, but now how should I create the other virtual domains to be alias of .com? The server full qualified name is mailhost2.company.com and not .net so I guess the alias is needed here if I want to use company.net users... Well yeah. But since i didn't know anything better to do FAST then it seemed good enough solution. To get it fixed we wrote a shell script what would look into /info and /remote folders to get the corresponding message id and would check against /mess folder. Thanks go to Treeman for pointing out a problem. In QMT-ISO-1.1 it's not installing qmailadmin for some reason. It has something to do with the new version downloaded. It will install manually though. I am working on a respin of the ISO now to correct this. In the next respin (1.2) I will be updating all Cent packages as well as all QMT packages. I will also be including a script that can be run after installation that will install Roundcube for you. Give me a few days for the respin, and in a week or so I will be offering a Roundcube install script on my site. [qmailtoaster] qmailtoaster as spam/anti-virus appliance.
Would this work with the qmailtoaster setup? URL: http://rauros.net/projects/qmail/smtproute.php Guide: Configuring qmail to remotely clean e-mail Lets say you have four domains: localemail.tld, computers.tld, websites.tld, and servers.tld. You want to let them handle their own mail, but you want a centralized location for all of their spam/virus services. No problem! qmail handles this easily. In your /var/qmail/control directory: me should contain your qmail gateway's hostname. locals should contain a listing of all of the domains for which your server will locally be accepting mail. If you don't plan on handling local mail on the machine, your locals file should be empty. For example: localemail.tld defaultdomain should contain your domain name. rcpthosts should have a listing (one per line) of the domains you are accepting mail for. For example: computers.tld websites.tld servers.tld smtproutes should contain something like domain.tld:ipaddress. This works with both internal or external IP addresses. So, for example, you could have the following: computers.tld:64.123.232.214 websites.tld:192.168.1.5 servers.tld:130.4.4.21 Seeing as this is going to be a gateway that will endure double bounces from spammers, it would be very useful to take advantage of one of qmail's configuration files and set up doublebounce configuration in the /var/qmail/control directory: doublebouncehost contains your domains. doublebounceto contains doublebounce. The alias /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-doublebounce should contain just a hash (#), or octothorpe, as the contents, which will send the mail to /dev/null. Congratulations! You now have a qmail gateway which will accept incoming messages, scan/filter/strip the messages, and pristinely forward them on to an internal or external SMTP server. - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Mdadm being removed during qmail-toaster installation did cause me issues because I have a seperate raid (actually multi-path) disk mounted at /home/vpopmail. My solution was to install mdadm manually. You can get the sources from: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/raid/mdadm/ and it is a pretty straight forward compile/install process. - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
