it was basically an attractive red paperweight with 7.5 on it.

That said - I'm sure they'll come up with a fix - this isn't rocket
science.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Presets - Just Where are they Stored Anyway?

2010-05-12 Thread peterw

They're stored on the server side (SBS or MySB). Radio only tries to
keep track of *whether* a button has a preset defined. If so, when you
tap the button, Radio turns on and then asks the server to play "preset
#1", etc.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Presets - Just Where are they Stored Anyway?

2010-05-12 Thread spedinfargo

Curious - with all of the preset problems on the Radio I'm wondering
where they're stored and how it all works.

Obviously they're not exposed on the Mysqueezebox.com website if you're
running the Radio through that. However, what if you're running the
Radio exclusively with a local Squeezebox Server?

Do the URLs for the Presets get pulled down into the Radio itself at
one point or another? I've poked around in the file structure of the
radio by SSHing in - I saw (based on Erland's plugin) that some
settings are stored in /etc/squeezeplay/userpath/settings but I can't
seem to find anything where the presets are actually stored...

Ultimately I want to the URL of a preset and see if there's a reason
why I can play Napster playlists as a preset but not as a favorite...

Any clues as to where I can intercept what's stored in those Presets?

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] I am getting totally fed up!

2010-05-12 Thread JonInAtl

I solved my alarm, connection, and totally random player stopping
problems in one fell swoop!
I replaced my SBR with a Reciva based radio from Grace Digital.

The alarm works EVERY morning!
Player streams consistently every night until the sleep timer shuts it
off.
No, it doesn't have the same look or feel of the SBR, but it's 100%
USABLE and that, in my opinion, trumps all else.

As for the SBR... it's on my desk in at work where I don't have to
relay on it for anything, like, you know, waking me up. Yes it still
stops playing at random, but now I get my finger exercise re-starting
it rather than flipping it off.

My SBR also has the same problem since the firmware upgrade. I usually
leave the radio on all night, as I go to sleep, listening to talk radio
when I awake. I am not using the SBR alarm function at all.

I might wake up with the radio off and the clock display showing. I
can start up the radio again by pressing a pre-set radio button.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Does anyone recommend the SB Radio?

2010-05-12 Thread mpower9

Squeezebox Radio is the first internet radio type device I have
purchased and I love it. I got it to replace an aged and dysfunctional
clock radio. The alarm has worked fine for me except for the odd
occasion when there was user error and I set it incorrectly. There have
been some issues with the backup alarm kicking in (which can be
traumatic), but it has always got me up.

I have not used the SBserver to stream music from my computer because I
do not have a digital music collection (yet), but I listen to internet
radio a lot. At the moment, it is suffering from occasional stream
drops, but they are easily remedied.

I do listen to podcasts which you say is one of the things you plan to
use it for. The only problem with the Radio is that it does not have a
bookmark function so that if you stop listen to a podcast to go to
another program you will loose your place and have to FF to where you
were (if you can remember) which is a pain. Also, some podcasts do not
support FF so that if you leave them before they finish, you have to go
back and listen all over again to get to the point where you left off,
an even bigger pain.

All these things aside, I love my radio. All it takes is a little
patients. Those of us who lived through Windows 5.1, do not complain
too much about buggy programs.

I've lost mine about 4 or 5 times in the 6 weeks I've had it but most

Now if it wouldn't randomly stop playing it would be a great radio.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Alarm Clock Mystery Deepens!

Yes, I'd have to agree with JohnN on this, Brucegrr...

they're just having some fun here, but it would be hard to agree
against the fact that Logitech is stunning in their
un-communicativeness...I'm sure the programmers are good guys...we're
taking about who's running the store, I think.

nobody's (well, hardly anybody ;-)) is nitpicking here... it just seems
that a released consumer product should, at very minimum, perform the
simple functions by which it's advertised (i.e. a clock-radio). I
understand the wireless component makes it more problematic, but it's
completely understandable that users would be frustrated. And from
Logitech, nothing in response.

They seem to have abandoned ship at their own forum...most threads seem
to end end with a recommendation to visit this one! My identical
post/question about the alarm clock/fallback alarm there has exactly 0
replies. Response here has been lively.

thanks,
Dave S.

[SlimDevices: Radio] "error: no items in playlist"

Now that I think about it, I believe the only other time I've received

reason? I can listen to KLAC's stream on the computer here at work, but

It's still hard to understand because I can stop SBS while the Radio is
playing the internet radio stream and continues without problems (not
connected to SBS or MSB).

So the radio knows how to keep track of time and alarm without SBS (or
MSB) and it knows how to stream internet radio without SBS (or MSB).

Logically, it should be possible to combine the two.

I guess the problem is that for now it relies on the "original" server
to tell it what to stream (URL stored on the server) and if this server
is unavailable it will use the fall back sound.

First option
Couldn't it just switch to MSB automatically? is there any way to
configure this? like "if SBS is unavailable for >5 min the switch"
perhaps it's more complicated than this (usually is :-) )

Second option
If the software was enhanced a bit the radio could store the URL for
the internet stream localy (as it does with the alarm time) and use
this information in case the server is unavailable. I guess this would
benefit SBS users as well as MSB users in case MSB is down.

Right. I think it simply tells the radio to use the previously
installed version of firmware which, as in your case, could very well
be the same one that you're running now.

Hopefully they'll have an updated firmware with the bugs worked out

[SlimDevices: Radio] Lost WTMA a Citadel station

2010-05-12 Thread LDHaber

Hi,

I recently lost WTMA a Charleston SC radio station. I emailed the
station to ask them what happened and got this response:

WTMA is still streaming online. However, there was a change around
April 1
to a Flash-based media player on our website, which I've been told will
make
the stream more compatible with Smart Phones and other mobile devices.
Not
only did this happen to the WTMA stream, but to all of the Citadel
Broadcasting station streams across America.

Has anyone else run across this and are there any suggestions about how
to get this station back onto my Squeezebox Radio?

Thanks,

Larry

You can get at me, that's ok :)

Common mistake made here is that forum=Logitech. This is a user forum.
Is it read by employees of Logitech? Sure. How much? Who knows. Rare is
it that official announcements are made here. It happens. New hardware.
New features. etc

The alarm problem is a big issue, IMO. It is so much so that it keeps
me from buying a Radio until it is fixed. I use the boom for our alarm
clock. Works flawlessly. Never had a problem.

I have no doubts Logitech knows that there is a problem and they are
working on it. It is in their best interest to do so. As mentioned in
another thread the problem may require a major code rewrite. If so that
is not a problem that can be fixed in a matter of days or weeks.

You have every right to be frustrated and angry. My bigger concern is
that the employees of Logitech don't become a target on this forum,
finding their work ethic, education, etc being impugned just because a
piece of hardware doesn't work right or the software has a bug.

If it happens that often, that your stream just stops, maybe you should
call official support.

I read of some MySB.com accounts, where two people unintentionally
shared one account (do you have any devices listed on MySB.com, that
are not your own ?).
Anyway - everything you describe sounds really strange and definitely
is not normal operation.

If not even normal playing of radio streams works, I would start
looking for alarm problems.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm: shouldn't this scenario work?

2010-05-12 Thread bluegaspode

Yes - in theory you could switch over to MySB.com before going to bed.
But make sure, that the alarm settings (alarm-time + alarm tune) are
correctly replicated to MySB.com.
Remember: the server is the master for all alarms, if you switch
servers regularly funny things might happen.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] The alarm worked this morning!

2010-05-12 Thread 0xdeadbeef

It's sad and frustrating, but a working alarm really has become such a
seldom event that I kinda psyched when it works once in a lifetime.
I really don't tend to insult software developers as I'm one myself and
know about everything there is to know about messing things up with the
best intention.
Yet really, how is it possible that a big company like Logitech is not
able to hire a few people with at least mediocre design and development
skills to finally fix this totally messed up amateurish design disaster.

I waited for more than 6 months now for them to fix the thing to simply
play the correct station at the correct time. Instead it changes the
background every five minutes, wakes me up with the backup alarm at
full volume or stops after a few seconds in the rare cases when it is
willing or able to start the correct station.
Please Logitech, don't ruin this brand like this. Please finally hire
some people who actually have some development skills and experience to
fix this mess.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm

2010-05-12 Thread sSNICKERSs

I think the problem is that playing radio stream can stop from time to
time (main problem) then when it arrives during alarm I get, of course,
the back up alarm.

So, why radio stream stop to play ?? mySB.com problems ? It is possible
as we know that problems have occured before. The SBRadio uses a
different protocol to communicate with mySB.com.
We can see posts about this problem in this forum.

This evening, the screen during listening was not the one I have
defined (lecture en cours = now playing???) it was the grey screen with
time and date...

I don't think we can do anything

It also doesn't help, when you spam each alarm related thread.
As you possibly found and read every thread you will also have found
instructions on how to change the fallback-sound and its volume.

As much as I agree with you that you shouldn't take that burden and
that logitech should fix the problem:
it won't happen in reasonable time for you - so either its
- selling the SBRadio and hope that some other device is better
- fix it on your own with the help of the people in the forum (which
are not paid by logitech, so be nice to them!)
- call the Logitech CEO, maybe he can help.

It hasn't been ignored. You can tell that a problem is serious when
nobody from Logitech comments. If it were a relatively easy fix you'd
get a one-liner. "Try tonight's nightly beta and see how that works
for you". More serious issues get no comment and a lot of "throwing
spaghetti at the wall" attempts at a fix. There are obviously some
fundamental flaws at the heart of the alarm problems that will either
take a long time to fix, or a complete redesign. Usually it's a long
time to realize that it can't be fixed and _then_ a complete redesign.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] dropping connection after firmware update

2010-05-12 Thread sSNICKERSs

I have reset factory my SBRadio and not connect it to my NAS (because of
alarm problem). My NAS is off. But when playing radio my SBRadio stops
playing music again…

I think the problem is that my SBRadio « stop » playing radio stream :

If it occurs during the alarm I have the back up alarm
If it occurs when not playing alarm then the sound stops, on the screen
I can only see the name of the radio or goes back to the clock display
on its own...

The wifi icon stays white.
If I listen to the same radio at the same time with my SBBoom or
another brand of wifi radio : theses sets don’t stop playing the
radio stream.
I have noticed it is from the 7.5 version.
The SBRadio stops “from time to time”, I didn’t
notice something special

Is it a bug ? Or is it a mySB.com problem as SBRadio and SBBoom are
managed differently.

[SlimDevices: Radio] Alarm: shouldn't this scenario work?

2010-05-12 Thread Letten

If I leave my SBS PC running 24/7 my Alarm starts playing my selected
internet radio station (favourite) in the morning just fine.

But if I shut down the SBS pc in the evening (wake-on-lan is not
supported) the alarm will play fall-back alarm-sound in the morning.

Shouldn't it be possible for the Radio to play the internet radio
station without SBS?

I can understand that local music won't work, but I thought that
selecting internet radio as alarm would make it possible.

They have adopted the "head buried in sand approach". How long has your
SBR been having issues? Feels like mine has been problematic for over a
month and I actually delayed moving to the new firmware until I could
no longer stand the nag screen!

Call their support folks and they will only "help" you fix your issues
one at a time. There is no firmware issue - it's your router, it's
something you've installed on the SBR, it's your internet connection,
etc...

Very sad state of affairs for Logitech "customers".

I just got chewed out by two senior members for saying pretty much
everything you have said here, in another thread. They are frustrated
by this too but choose to defend Logitech "they are silent because they
must be working hard on this problem" and continue to ask us to provide
logs, suggest our networks are bad (even though they were fine under
the last firmware)... or perhaps its your router.
Senior members: Can we in any way, shape or form, get an official word
from Logitech that this issue will be fixed this month, this summer,
this year, or never?

station art but after about 10 seconds or so it disappears and shows
the default black and white antenna picture, the same as the picture
you've shown.

Currently I'm using firmware 7.5.0.r8673.

Logitech's incentive should be to please the customer base so people
will continue to recommend their products to others. Word of mouth and
praising a product sells goods - and is the best form of advertising
any company could hope for. When I first got mine, I was very pleased
and truly felt that it exceeded my expectations. So much that I even
bought a second one as well. I also took it to work and showed it off
to my co-workers too. The way it stands now, I wouldn't recommend the
Squeezebox Radio to anyone. Logitech really needs to get the firmware
issue fixed - and fast. It would go a long way if they'd at least
communicate, acknowledge the bug, and let folks know they are working
hard on a fix. Until that happens, they've lost me as a customer for
any of their products.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Now Playing artwork is not updating! HELP

2010-05-12 Thread JohnnieBush

May 11, 2010 – Update

Still haven’t heard back from Logitech Support.

Last night, I decided to try my SBR with an Ethernet Cable and a
“Restore Factory Settings” starting with a restore boot by
holding the “+” key while powering up. I attached the
Ethernet cable and went through the process. After re-booting, I
reinstalled my software to make sure that everything was as good as it
could get.

The results were that nothing had changed:

1. I still had my default (Black and White) Radio Station Art.

2. My slow buffering problem still existed while using the Ethernet
cable. Note that is is NOT present when
using the Squeezebox Server.

3. Colored Album Art worked perfectly on Pandora, exactly as it does
when operating on WiFi.

So, I’ll keep everyone informed of what it takes to solve
this problem and how long it takes!

I’m sure, by now, that Logitech has a whole dedicated
team working on OUR problem!

Think Positive,

So that explains it! I wondered if that was the case, because of course
my first response to all the bugs was to re-install the new firmware.
And I have had NO success rolling back to 7.4 with the above method.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Inconsistent Album Art Appearing

2010-05-12 Thread stevedresden

OK - I *think* I got to the bottom of this - when you scan for new and
changed, it checks for new music files and music files with a different
timestamp/size to that in the database.

If you have just added the cover.jpg to the folder and not edited the
file in anyway then it won't pick it up in the scan as the music files
won't have changed.

In this situation - only if you do a full rescan will it append the
cover details to the database

Obviously if you embed the artwork into the music file then the
filesize changes - and will be picked up by the new/changed scan

No, this won't work.

The Radio always needs its server
- for triggering the alarm and telling it which stream to play (the
Radio currently only remembers the alarm time for the fallback, but
without server wouldn't know the stream to play)
- the server (sometimes) transcodes the Radio-Streams if they are not
in a format supported by the Radio

Not sure how the scan determines new and changed files and whether this
is limited just to music files ie. it will pick up if you embed cover
art into your music files and it doesnt look for new folder.jpg files
that have been added into directories.

You can use the rescan plugin and have it do a full rescan overnight or
whatever time doesnt interfere with your listening experience.

I'm glad you found a way to get your Radio streaming internet radio
stations.

But a router firewall, particularly with it's default settings, should
not be causing such issues in the first place.
My routers firewall (and I'd guess most peoples) is always fully
engaged and never causes any such streaming issues.
May well have been some of your custom firewall settings you mentioned
that caused the streaming issue.

Here's a problem I have with your request. Despite the 'hijacking' of

I don't think we can do anything

no, they won't. 7.4 had some race conditions where alarms wouldn't go

Wow, you don't use Microsoft products then.

NUMEROUS critical security bugs have gone unfixed for months. They
very rarely comment on security problems until there is a fix released.
(And not a 'hotfix', but a "patch tuesday" update. Sometimes they fix
critical security bugs that the security community knows full well
about and has posted exploits for, and don't mention it's a security
fix in their update notices.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Inconsistent Album Art Appearing

2010-05-12 Thread stevedresden

Did a bit more digging through the database and it looks like the COVER
field in the TRACKS table is only populated for the first track in an
album

All the other tracks in that album seem to pick up their cover from the
ARTWORK field in the ALBUMS table. This field contains the ID of the
track in the TRACKS table which holds the link to the cover.jpg in the
COVER field

Quite why it works this way I'm not sure, maybe it's quicker to scan
that way, but I suspect that this may be the cause of my problem

I just added a cover.jpg and did a rescan of changed items (ie not a
full rescan) and it seems to have picked up the artwork OK for most -
but the way it renumbers changed and new files means that it could
quite easily get itself in a twist. I guess that is what happened

Hilarious... for the last few days our Radio has started the alarm at
9:00 (soothing classical music) with the SCREAMING default, making both
me and my wife JUMP. So, last night, I set it to 9:01 just on a whim.
This morning, at 9:01, we both had near heart attacks.
Thanks, Logitech.
Tonight, I will switch the box back to Pandora for the alarm and see if
it doesn't scare the crap out of us tomorrow.
Here's my history:
1: The day the new firmware came out, my Radio started screaming at us
after a few minutes of Pandora.
2: I 'fixed' it by installing Squeezebox Server and creating
playlists.
3: Last week sometime, the music on the server is no longer good enough
and we are back to being terrified.

I have come THIS close to throwing the thing out the window a few times
now.
I should probably raise a stink and get a full refund and start looking
at Chumby or something else...

I will respond since you appear to be addressing me personally. I have
not here or anywhere else singled out anyone on this forum to be blamed
for these issues. I have always been clear (like many others) that I
feel Logitech continues to disappoint its customers by not saying
anything about this issue.
Let me answer your points one by one.
1: Sell the SBRadio. Why? If I buy a new car and the radio doesn't
work, it gets fixed by the dealer. I don't sell the entire car used for
a loss.
2: Fix it on my own ... Where on the forums is there a fix for the
screaming alarm? I like all the other people here continue to be
plagued by this problem? I have tried Pandora online, Pandora via my
server, local media, and all randomly SCREAM the default alarm.
3: I will just ignore this comment as being unprofessional.
4: Voting on bugs is similar to asking me for a log. Logitech has
thousands of complaints about this. Besides, how do you know I have NOT
voted on the bugs?

I don't like your way of complaining here about people offering their
free time.

If you want to adress Logitech - take their official channels (which is
their support site where you will find email and phone numbers).

You know, when the Touch was delayed, Andy tried posting here about it
and people complained. "You should be fixing the code not reading

And so he stopped and people complain "Why aren't you updating us!"

There are reasons I am glad I'm not Andy.

(My faves were from the people who complained that Andy's updates
should have come from someone in Marketing, why should they believe
some coder... never mind that Andy is almost certainly the one who
would tell qa, "okay, I think this is it, if you can't break it, we're

As I'm the only one asking for alarm logs here (and yes - often but not
always point to network problems) I took your sentence above
personally.

By the way I also know, what they 'broke' in the latest firmware.
They fixed a HUGE bug, that the alarm didn't sound at all when one had
network problems. This took about 4 weeks to do correctly.

Now we have a very eager fallback alarm, which personally of course I
find annoying if it sounds too often (which it doesn't in my setup) but
this is STILL better than no sounding alarm at all.

Oh - of course I also created a bug-report for this
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16190
but only 7 people seem to be affected currently as its got no more
votes.

See the thing is JJ... a lot of senior members here are now using
similar language: This must be a major fix, a big rewrite, complete
redesign.

What is at the heart of the complaints here is a: this was not an issue
before 7.5 so something was broken in that update. As far as I know,
Logitech 'could' renumber 7.4.x to 7.6 and release it and 90% of the
alarm complaints would go away.
b: When in the history of technology has a company remained completely
silent about a major problem in a product because they are busy working
on a solution. In my life, using computers, I have always head companies
ANNOUNCE when they are working on a fix even if they don't have a
timeline. When they don't say anything, they a: don't intend to fix it.
b: cannot fix it. c: will not acknowledge the problem.

Thank you for your answer...

There is a strange thing : my SBRadio is connected to mySB.com and not
connected to my ReadyNAS ! So, I wonder why ma SBRadio tries to connect
my NAS...
When my SBRadio started to play the alarm (radio stream) this monrning,
it was connected to mySB.com. My ReadyNAS was off since yesterday.

Perhaps the problem is here : after having connected my SBRadio to the
ReadyNAS, it will behave strangely... and that's why the alarms don't
work properly...

You wrote somewhere else, that you used your own server.
Then just go ahead and install 7.4.1 again.
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/SqueezeboxServer_v7.4.1/

But as written somewhere else: be warned that in the case of network
(or other) problems (which you seem to have when the fallback alarm
sounds often) you take the risk of not getting an alarm at all.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm

2010-05-12 Thread sSNICKERSs

Thank you,
I have reset factory my SBRadio and not connect it to my NAS. My NAS is
off. But when playing radio my SBRadio stops playing music again…

I think the problem is that my SBRadio « stop » playing radio stream :

If it occurs during the alarm I have the back up alarm
If it occurs when not playing alarm then the sound stops, on the screen
I can only see the name of the radio.

You will not hear anything from Logitech becuase this is not the
official Logitech support forum. CALL them. EMAIL them.

You said "I like how each thread puts the burden on the complainer to
post logs of the issue, which is - I am sorry - way too frikking
complicated and pointless since a: the result always seems to be "huh
it looks like your radio lost connection with your server, check your
router" or "b: there are SO many of these complaints, what are you
hoping to learn that Logitech already doesn't know."

Your focus was the forum and those trying to help you. Your words . Own
them.

The burden IS on you. It is your radio. Your problem that needs solved.
Who else should have the burden? If what help your have received rubs
you the wrong way or you find it unsatisfactory then stop asking for
help here. Call Logitech.

I am not trying to be unkind here. I am trying to get you to see your
anger and frustration is misplaced. Good people populate this forum.
Ready and willing to help. BUT, they are not the programmers and they
can't fix the software, firmware, etc. Logitech has to do that.

I get that you are frustrated and I would be too.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] dropping connection after firmware update

2010-05-12 Thread diannabill

Just bought a SB Radio TODAY!!! Had to buy 2 before I got one to work
right.

Radio #1: Was forced immediately to upgrade to 7.5 on initial setup.
First attempt to download had an error, so I did it again,
successfully.

Then downloaded & installed the SB Server on my computer, loaded a few
apps, programmed a few presets and thought I was good to go. At one
point, station stopped, and clock screen appeared. Then strange things
started happening with my menu. Couldn't find "My music" anymore (even
tho I was connected to the server). Also Presets started disappearing.

Took that radio back and got a new one. But before I did anything, I
found this forum and decided I didn't want to upgrade to 7.5. I tried
all the tricks mentioned to not upgrade and get out of the upgrade
screen, but was locked on that screen until I finally gave up and did
it.

What I did next was uninstall the SB Server, click on the link in an
earlier post in this thread for 7.4.2 of the SB Server and
downloaded/installed that. Then I turned on the radio and it pretty
quickly told me to download the 7.4.2 software, which I happily did.
Working fine now.

When I switch over to mysqueezebox.com though I get the prompt to
upgrade back to 7.5. Luckily I'm able to ignore that and push menu or
one of the presets and the disappears and the radio acts fine.

But most of the time I'll be on the SB server since I stream my mp3
files from a computer that's on 24/7.

Am I fixed? I sure hope so. Thanks to everyone in this thread for all
the advice. (If I'd have read it before I bought the radio though, I
probably wouldn't have!). I'll definitely do some research here before
I voluntarily upgrade again.

Are you running the SBS program on your computer? Or are you connecting
your Radio directly to MySqueezeBox.com?

App Gallery will only offer to Install that App. Go to My Apps to
configure any Apps (if needed).

If connecting your player to MySqueezeBox.com you can control the
playback by using the Remote Control feature on the web UI.
In there you will see all of your installed Apps and the stations
included within them.

Your Radio is not connected to MySB.com.
Your Radio is connected to your ReadyNASDuo.

There is a network problem between your Radio and the ReadyNAS, as you
can see from the logs it 'can't find a route to host'.

I'm not a networking specialist ... but I think you should start
looking at your Router (anything blocked there?) and/or ReadyNas (does
it do other stuff at the same time and isn't answering fast enough?).
Maybe also look at the Radio if it has a good wireless connection.

So I'd suggest to try two things:
1) a week with your ReadyNas turned on 24/7 and your Radio connected to
it
2) a week with your ReadyNas turned off, so MySB.com is used only
(don't forget a factory reset, so that your Radio forgets about the
ReadyNas)

You beat me to the punch. :)

I know people are frustrated. I would be too if I had this problem.
Shooting those who want to help is not the answer. I suspect the
problem with alarms on the radio is a major problem that will have to
be addressed in the programming. If it was a simple fix.it would
have been fixed by now.

Radio owners have few options at this point. Return it. or Wait. Yes,
it is a bit*h. Yes, it is unfair, undemocratic, and Obama is to blame
:) but it is what it is. Taking it out on those who attempt to help is
not the answer.
