((Did you know, a single pin-head sized drop of liquid

There is a need for high doses of Vitamin b and c,
plus a number of other herbs and vitamins, that can
help to protect your body from harmful toxins.

You probably know the routine. Crumple the pack and throw it away, only to

This sounds so easy when put like that! Unfortunately, smoking is an
addiction and one of the hardest to beat, as it is involved with (sometimes)
lifetime habits which makes it so hard. I know, because I am one of those
who managed it. I think preparations and the like help to support people,
and this can be crucial in the winning, and this is of vital importance I

Dee,

I only offer this comment in the hope that it might help someone. Between
ages 19 and 30 I smoked a pack a day and tried to quit on many occasions.
You probably know the routine. Crumple the pack and throw it away, only to
un-crumple it later, straighten out a cigarette (sometimes using scotch
tape) in order to satisfy the craving. Nothing worked until I studied
something about the mind, visualization, subconscious perception of reality,
etc.

I prepared a side-by-side list of pros and cons to smoking versus not
smoking, and began to visualize myself as a non-smoker. This means that I
practiced seeing myself as a non-smoker, and began to imagine how well I
would feel, how much nicer I would smell, how much more in control I would
be as a non smoker. You have to do this exercise for about two weeks before
the subconscious mind accepts the new image of yourself and can support any
decision to stop smoking. All other efforts are difficult and often
impossible because we are using will power, chemicals, gum, etc. in a fight
against what we really believe about ourselves, which is that we ARE
SMOKERS. The subconscious is always stronger than the conscious will power.
This technique is well known and practiced by athletes in a variety of
disciplines.

Only when the visualized new self (Non-smoker) was accepted as real in my
subconscious mind, was I able to just quite suddenly, and never crave it
again, because only then did the subconscious mind agree with my decision to
quit smoking and the fight was over.

On rare occasions, over the years, I have indulged in a few cigarettes or a
cigar, along with some beers when I was in the company of smoker friends.
But the next day it was all forgotten (even regretting the after-taste of
cigars) with no cravings for tobacco. I perceive myself as a non-smoker in
my conscious and subconscious mind so I can smoke on very rare occasions and
never be hooked on it again.

I hope that I offered something worth considering.

Peter

Just wanted to add my two cents. I quit smoking back in 1982 but I never
intended to stop. In 1979 I was station at Scott AFB IL and had just returned
from the clinic where I was told that I had pnemonia and numerous other things
and that I would need to quit smoking. Needless to say I did not follow that
advise, but it really hurt to smoke. So I bought some aqua filters which was
better but not good. I then found a package called a step at a time. they had
4 filter ranging from that stepped you through. I began on No 2 but so
switched to 3 as it felt the best on my throat. within a couple of weeks I
switch to a Malboro Light cigerette and in a few more weeks I began no 4
filter. I still never intended to quit. I like the filters as they did not
take the moisture out of my lips. The only things I told myself was that I
could not smoke without my filter. A year and a half later I found I had not
smoked in a couple days so I quit.
I have a hard time even remember that I ever smoked... I had never craved one
and never even think about them.
Now twenty some years later I'm very grateful that I did quit... my cost for a
carton in 1978 was about $3. I see now that it would be almost $30.

Quitting smoking was very easy for me. I did it a hundred times.

What was hard was to keep from starting up again.

What actually worked for me was realizing that the way I felt when I wanted a cigarette was exactly

I believe that Duncan is correct about Salvia Divinorum being effective for interrupting the

The herb salvia divinorum has been used as an anti-addictive on
six of the top addictions, nicotine included, by removing the

References are on my website and I've seen it working in our
little local trial too.

It works in this respect at lower than hallucinogenic doses.

2006-12-26 Thread M. G. Devour
Okay, since I accidentally replied to the list rather then Debb, and
posted her original question as a result, maybe we can get some input
on it?

She asks:
Hi I would really appreciate some Ideas on what you all think about
detoxing the body and lungs from nicotene.long time smoker . Debb

I'll be sauna would be on the list, Debb.

Be well,

Mike (researching sauna options) D.

Re: CSRe: C.S. Nicotene Detox

2006-12-26 Thread rusty0
This was discussed on another list i am on and they recommended 1 teaspoon
cream of tarter in an eight ounce glass of orange juice every night, for
some reason it works, in the morning you eliminate nicotine when you go to
the bathroom, you continue smoking, but as you release nicotine the craving
goes down until you are no longer wanting a cigarette. I am in my third
week of it and am down to maybe having 2 or 3 cigarettes a day and that
won't be for much longer = it does seem to work.
