I didn't have the problem with the official release either.

Your other message seems to have gone astray but I can see it in the

I'll play with those but I may have to go back to that unofficial build as
the prompt to connect to the internet when starting 3.5.0.16 appears

BayesIt Statistics (0.8.0)

2005-01-13 Thread Paul White
Hello TBBETA list members,

I've just installed the latest version (0.8.0) and have seen that my
statistics (on the Plug-in information screen) have all been reset to
zero, i.e. all colour bars are green. After re-installing version 0.7.12,
I see data for spam received and the colour bars are again a mix of green
and red.

I've repeated the installation of 0.8.0 and I have seen the spam
statistics reset to zero. On reverting back to 0.7.12 they reappear.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

I did have problems a few releases ago and submitted and added to several

According to http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifewin even Windows 98 is

Stuart, I am also seeing this problem (on 2 Win98 PCs) and posted about
this several days ago although there was little feedback on the problem. I
have logged this on the Bt as bug #0003983. Sadly, no-one else, even 9Val,
can confirm that this bug exists so we may have to put up with it for a
while. I see you are also a Win98 user so perhaps that is the problem
although I don't see why it should be.

I have tested creating new filters, deleting the .SRB file and doing
everything I can possibly think of but as far as I am concerned I have no
common filters on either of my Win98 PCs with a 3.0.2.x build. Like you,
if I go back to 3.0.1.33 then my common filters work again one I have
selected the various account check boxes on the 'Shared With..' tab.

Perhaps you could add a comment in the BT for me? Thanks.

I've had a lot of problems with filters this weekend. What I've
experienced may be related to what you have seen. I've edited many filters
and closed the dialog. On the next editing session they've reverted to
their original state. It appears that I have to click on another filter
before the first one changes permanently especially when moving from one
account to another. Just clicking 'OK' isn't always enough to make the
changes sticky.

May be the common problem is that the disk files are not being fully
updated at the right time and a program close and restart reverts the
filters to their previous state?

Confirmed here. At first I thought my filters had gone wrong. With so many
SpamCop submissions sent via a manual filter, I'll have to revert to
3.0.1.33 until this is fixed.

I think you'll end up with what is now known as Secure Bat. I wish I had
done the same for just an extra $10.00.

Six weeks of bug-fixing has certainly restored my faith in Ritlabs. I hope
that it continues along-side adding new features. I was looking elsewhere
but *nothing* comes close to The Bat!

It has been pointed out several times on this list that you won't now get
this on 95, 98 or ME. I don't fully understand why but it is something to
do with processing un-installs and removing files and/or registry info.

BayesIt! is working fine for me Max but I think the problems may be with XP users?

I switched between a few languages and back to English again and now have the Sorting
Office and Maintenance Centre in the Times New Roman font. I know a restart will cure
that though. It's probably due to changing to Chinese without the appropriate language
support installed. :)

Installed ok here too Thomas, but how many Add/Remove entries do you have? I am also
on Win98 and I have two entries but none for The Bat! itself.

I think it is the existence of several Windows versions that confuses the issue now. :)

I have just installed the Home version on a second Win98 PC and the install seems to
have gone as expected - no Add/Remove entry though.

[Actually I now have BayesIt 0.7.3 on one PC and 0.7.2 on the other, I'm not sure what
came with the .msi though]

Version 2.00.2600.2 - I have no idea how up-to-date that version is though.

Existing folder, but the old .msi is now elsewhere so no over-writing as such.

That's right but then I have quite a few other programs with no Add/Remove entry so
I'm really not that bothered.

In which case Max and Stef should call a halt on new features and fix
the bugs. I have sent a number of bug reports to RITLabs and most of
them have been confirmed. I don't think any have been fixed. Normally I
don't support software that has so many *obvious* or widely reported
bugs. I am only here because the bugs that exist don't affect *me* to
any great degree.

No, the rar-file includes beta 4 of *v1.46* and not v1.48 as expected,
hence the August file date. Perhaps this will be the last *I also
