Lucky you!

They were gone since 3.0b1 up yesterday (2 days using 3.0.0.6).
Yesterday the first one raised its ugly head again, today (in 3.0.0.7)
I've got it a couple of times (they are much more persistant than in
the 2.13bx versions.

The only positive thing (up to now) is: I get them _only_ in the RTV.
So switching to PTV let me see the message again. After reading a
dozen (or so) mails in PTV I 'may' again switch to RTV and wait
patiently for the next Hate-Mail :-)

Yeah. It took some doing to get back to the previous version. A repair
msi installation didn't work.

I eventually opened the .msi file in WinRAR, saw the excecutable
listed and attempted copying it across. This aborted with an error. I
tried starting TB! and got an error about the executable not being a
valid Win32 file. I then repeated the .msi installation and finally
I'm back to v3.0.

So it would seem that if you wish to roll back to the .msi install
version, then delete or rename the 3.0.0.6 executable and then do a
repair install of the .msi release.

Rolling back defeats the purpose of betatesting!

That is precisely why I made 9Val add the /REG: option to the program.
Just set up a separate directory for TB! Beta, and run it as
thebat.exe /reg:beta. It will create and begin using its own
registry branch, separately from your normal TB usage. This way you
can have a stable (okay, semi-stable) TB! for your everyday usage, and
a (buggy to hell and back) beta for testing purposes.

I still don't believe how long we've had to risk using beta versions,
and roll back each time the developers spawned an unusable one :

Exactly my point. :)

TheBat! knows if, where and how it's installed by reading its registry
keys. The /REG: switch modifies the place it looks at for the
settings.

Simply run a beta with a /REG:beta command line switch. Create a new
shortcut to the .EXE if necessary. Batty should be surprised and try
to configure and install itself. Let it.

The same. The beta is set to leave messages on the server, and to
check the messages each 50 seconds, while the release (okay, RC/1 in
my case, I lost the release somewhere, and have no time to get it :P)
checks once a minute, and removes from the server. This way the beta
(usually) makes it to the messages first.

I had to down grad back to the official release. The number of HTML

one of the potential problems is program conflicts with the new
