Never had a general cover art problem (some problems with 7.6.0 betas due to malformed databases ,a fixed bug) there are some reported minor bugs but in genral I had cover art since 2008 when i got my duet all 7.7.x and 7.8 are imo trouble free in that respect . Missing cover art can in reality be a crashed scan suspect the antivirus for that . I'm bumping this thread, as I am having issues as well. Started off on 7.5.2 with no issues. Upgraded my OS to Fedora 15, which caused issues I really couldn't get resolved, so I upgraded my Server to 7.6.2-33593 which seems to function OK, except it can't seem to handle an any sort of embedded cover art specified in an APIC frame. Artwork specified in cover.jpg is fine and there are no issues. Any more news/updates re. the cover art problem with 7.6.1 and Touch? I have cover art on my web interface (using Mac OSX latest non-Lion version and iTunes Lossless, plus iTunes and Cover Scout for artwork) but not on my Touch, just empty squares. Plus the one Controller I had did not display artwork after the 7.6.1 update and addition of the Touch either. I have sent the Controller back RMA and expect a replacement soon, but can't get the artwork onto my Touch. Multiple clears of the cache, clear and rescan everything, and delete and reinstall 7.6.1. I had the same problem with 7.6.1 - scanning after upgrading failed. Art covers around 70% and server crashed. I have over 12000 music files and 1500 covers. I downgraded to 7.5.4 and it was OK. - I checked all the cover jpgs - they are all non-progressive. - I hidden several folders (with "."), now there are around 7500 music files and 900 art covers. - I upgraded (online) to 7.6.1 again I have had no problems so far - scanning was OK, adding new files OK, playing OK. Hello, Everything was working fine until a few days ago when I went to reconnect my external hard drive after adding more flac files and it showed every album was duplicated. I did wipe and rescan and everything was fine, but if I remove the hard drive and add more files it will duplicate every album unless I do a wipe and rescan, which of course take forever with over 10k flac files. So I reset the touch and deleted it from the mysqueezebox network and went through the setup again. Now when I start the internal squeezebox touch server it doesn't display any album artwork and all my App icons are missing. If I reconnect to mysqueezebox.com the App icons show up. Not sure what to do at this point. I also received a software update yesterday, but that didn't help anything. Everything was working great until just a few days ago. Updated to the latest nightly 6.7.1 on my WHS and everything went smoothly. All art work present and now all artwork corresponds to the correct album. I took a leap of faith and simply installed the .msi and did a rescan . Did not clear any caches. Took almost 6 hours to complete 96,000 lossless files but it got there. Each nightly, I install, "clean up" from the PreferencePane, then do a full rescan from the "Settings" web interface. Only newly added music with art is tranferred. Some existing files with art I added manually recently have art too. Just to report that this morning's Beta 7.6.1 r32969 has brought all of the missing artwork back on my system with Clear Library and Rescan Everything. No other changes were needed and as far as I can tell, everything is back to normal on Squeezebox Server under Windows XP Pro using Squeezebox Touch. OK, tried it again. Got 7.6.1. Still missing about 80% of the artwork. Cleared cache, rescanned, Nope. Cleared everything and rescanned 3 times. No different. I've always used wav files since I purchased my original Slim Devices branded Squeezebox 3. Except for one brief hiccup, it's always worked well until 7.6. Just to be fair I download 7.6.1-32935, set up a test album folder with 25 wav albums, 25 flac albums, and 25 mp3 albums. I uninstalled 7.5.5 from the control panel and cleaned the registry. Installed 7.6.1 and let it scan my test album folder. It found all the music, but would not display any of the album art from the wav files. The flac and mp3 files album art displayed fine. All my music (wav, flac, mp3) is tagged using Tag&Rename. Every album has it's own folder with the album art saved as "folder.jpg". Multiple "clear and rescan" and still no album art on wav files. The bottom line as I see it: If you want to use wav files, stay away from 7.6 at all costs. My experience with the artwork under 7.6 was perplexing. Probably 60 % of my albums had artwork however a lot of the artwork was no longer correct for that album. Some art was correct yet a lot was seemingly randomly out of place. The majority of my artwork sits as a jpg within each album folder. I am running WHS . I was impressed with the short time it took to do the complete rescan compared to 7.5.5 however at the moment I dont have the time to hunt down the issue. Tried multiple clear and rescan attempts but lost patience and Have gone back to 7.5 and all art in its correct place. After doing some more experimentation, it appears there are two issues: 1. Albums may not appear at all when performing a clear library and rescan everything. 2. Cover art may not show up on certain albums. After doing some experimentation I found as posted previously the workaround for the first issue is to simply re-scan library with setting "look for new and changed music". As for the second issue, I took two albums with embedded artwork (cleared out any references to external cover art) in a test directory. One album cover appears, the other it does not. If I extract the album coverfrom one of the tracks, delete the embedded cover, then embed it again, the album cover will appear. Since 7.5.5 had no problems with the library, I feel this is a bug. Hi I have been testing and scanning a dullion times today. I removed the embedded cover art on a couple of test cds and that did the trick for those albums. Looks like its "only" probs on embedded cover art? I'm running my server on WHS, and processed my WMA files using mp3tag. I have albums which I know were processed using the same flow at the same time using the same version of Mp3tag where some display cover art and others don't. Specifically I am looking at two albums, one "Volume One" and the other "Volume Two". One displays artwork, the other doesn't. File names and permissions are the same in both directories. I was researching an issue the other day and Googled "Apple OS problems" and got 167 million hits. That's using the most highly controlled hardware and operating system in commercial use. Even if most of those hits are not Apple's fault, a few percent of 167 million is still a bunch. In your case, call Logitech and give them a chance to help you before complaining too loudly. I had the same experience as strindl etc - a complete rescan finds no music files. Don't tell us, tell them (on their official web site). Fact is you aren't being used as a beta tester, we've already had a year of beta testing of 7.6. Unfortunately, there are some changes in 7.6 that are going to show up incompatibilities in peoples files (tagging and artwork) and also some "features" that used to work and no longer do work (custome skins for example). A word of general advice; artwork as PNG files and music as WAV files is not and never has been a great idea. To all - Swiftie found out that his problem was that much of his artwork were downloaded by WMP and it apparently set the hidden file attribute. The Touch worked fine until I updated it last night. Mac-iTunes. Squeezebox server set to take cover art from iTunes. Rescanned, reset, resigned to no cover art! Are you using enbedded artwork? I think that it is preferred to have standalone artwork files well embedded should stil work. well..after multiple rescans for new or changed music..I ran one that wiorked and I got my music back. Still no artwork though. -- strindl 3 Duets, 2 Touches. M'eh, screw it. I don't feel like being Logitech's beta tester. Dropped back down to 7.5.5. Album art is back now and everything looks to be 100% as it was before 7.6. Same here. Upgraded to 7.6 and my entire library disappeared. Re-scanned and got the music back, but all of my cover art is gone. All of it. I get HTTP-error 500 (internal server error) when I click on the placeholders of the icon for where the cover art should have been (e.g. http://127.0.0.1:9000/music/13d6bdae/cover). I do not get the normal no-cover-art-picture-icon with the gray background and CD like disk circle in front, but instead a icon I normally get on web pages where a picture is not rendered. I updated to the official 7.6 today, did the same thing and I'm missing about 15-20% of my cover art.
