Getting images
Hi there. First thing: where can the images? I only have the one linked from ogra blog from 23/09/2008 Second: I tried that image on a 7 Tsunami and on my 13.3 Asustek S37S. On my Laptop everything went okay and was really fast. I needed to reduce the top bar a few pixels (really big for this display, but it aint the target for this big laptops). On the 7 i couldnt get it to get pass GDM. Either it was really slow, or something was getting stuck, but once I get newer images, i'll try again. Testing ubtuntu-mid and ubuntu-mobile
I have been playing with the two Ubuntu Mobile variants on my Samsung Q1U (NP-Q1UAY01/SE upgraded to 2GB of RAM), and had previously installed the mid-8.04.1-mccaslin-install-usb image on the device. All of the versions are very nifty, but I found a few quirks: I installed ubuntu-mobile.img (20081004) to the hard drive and applied all the latest updates and it works great, except I can't figure out how to get to the menu for Midbrowser so I can do things like change preferences, install extensions (I need AdBlock!), etc. Am I just not finding a button or a key press to get this to appear? I also tested ubuntu-mid.img (20081006) as Live USB (did not install) and had these problems: -Only detected 903888 of RAM (-mobile and the 8.04 MID image both find 2063196 kB correct amount of RAM). On boot the kernel says (via dmesg): Warning only 896MB will be used. Use a HIGHMEM enabled kernel. -Must double-clock to launch apps...not very easy to do with my finger -Couldn't figure out how to attach to a wireless network. The device looks like it was detected, but I don't see any networks listsed, and if I select Auto wlan0 the icon spins for a bit, then stops. -Sound Mixer and Screen Resolution icons are missing -Some icons are low resolution (Terminal, Bulk Rename, Alarm Clock, Buttons, About Me) I noticed that the samsung-q1-ultra-keycode-setup script isn't present in either the -mid or -mobile images, and that the hotkey-setup script doesn't have any hotkey configuration for the Samsung Q1U either. It seemed like hotkey-setup was the right place to put the key bindings, so I modified the /etc/init.d/hotkey-setup script and added a /usr/share/hotkey-setup/samsung-sq1us.hk config file (based on what was in the samsung-q1-ultra-keycode-setup in the mid 8.04.01 image). I could not test the UDF or shutter buttons because these buttons do not exist on my Q1U. Either it was really slow, or something was getting stuck, but once I get newer images, i'll try again. the ubuntu-mobile image uses the standard ubuntu desktop in the back, it either might be that the composite autodetection of that fails on your device, can you check which windowmanager it uses (it should fall back to metacity if your graphics card is not composite capable) or that your device does not have enough ram (you should have 256M, if your device has less, i'd rather recommend to use the -mid image) the 7 has 1GiBs IINM, but tomorrow I'll check with the owner. I'm not sure what video card it has. You shouldn't experience this. Maybe there is a bug in your xserver which should be handling it transparently using a tranformCordinates matrix. Please take a look to this patch: http://labs.vivi.eng.br/blog/rotation-patches/adding-support-to-xrandr-on-xomap.patch mainly considering the hw/kdrive/src/kinput.c changes... I did it some time ago to fix the rotation on Mamona/Maemo. I hope it helps. (maybe not very wise) question about poulsbo chipset
Is the poulsbo kernel driver included in the standard (lpia I believe) kernel for ubuntu-mid and ubuntu-mobile? I'm trying to boot the ubuntu-mobile testing image but the xorg psb driver fails to load the kernel psb driver and complains. Now I believe I need both to work, is that true? xorg-psb driver has been around for quite some time but I can't find any information about the kernel driver. Thanks for your help. There's close to no hope of getting them in before intrepid as it would still mean kernel work, libdrm patches which we don't quite know how to handle without destroying support for the other drivers, and a xserver-xorg-video-psb update. If we get drivers from upstream after the intrepid release, it's unlikely we will be able to add them to intrepid, so it's not clear whether these will ever be supported in intrepid. We hope the drivers will make it in the jaunty development lifecycle, or simply in the upstream kernel. I'm trying to boot the ubuntu-mobile testing image but the xorg psb driver fails to load the kernel psb driver and complains. Now I believe I need both to work, is that true? xorg-psb driver has been around for quite some time but I can't find any information about the kernel driver. Right, we need to disable xorg's support for psb; the driver's package is already removed from the dailies. What should work though is vesa; failsafe xorg should offer vesa to you as a fallback. I have a colleague of mine who vouches for HP (especially those new shiny metallic ones) and he is happily running Kubuntu for almost a year (with almost everything working). Update manager doesn't work with orca anymore
Hi, I noticed update manager doesn't work with Orca anymore. It use to be you got no speech after you entered your password, but speech did return once the list of updates came up. New orca-customizations.py File
Hi, The Orca scripting tutorial is coming along quite nicely. Well, maybe slowly but surely is more like it. Anyway, I have an orca-customizations.py file that, hopefully, someone will find useful. The file adds the following functionality to Orca. Orca-t Speaks and/or Brailles the current time. It also places the current time in the clipboard so it can be pasted if desired. Orca-d Speaks and/or Brailles the current date. The date is also placed into the clipboard so that it can be pasted if desired. Here's examples of the paste functions. I have just pressed insert-t when I press ctrl-v to paste I get 06:54PM Now, for the date, I press ins-d and when I press ctrl-v to paste, it will paste Monday, October 06, 2008 I need to go back and add in some better documentation for the code, but as it stands, everything works (at least on my system). Please send me some feedback, suggestions for improvement, if it's maybe the koolest thing ever!, etc. There will be another hopefully more improved customizations.py in the near future. Also, if you happen to have scripts you would like included in the tutorial please send them my way. And now! drum roll please! Here's the orca-customizations.py code. [Bug 279439] [NEW] parametric EQs crash Ardour2 and Jack on amd64
Public bug reported: Simply create a track on Ardour2, import some music and add a triple parametric eq with shelves, and when you clic the activate button on the plugin windows, Ardour2 will loose Jack connection, and Jack will hang or crash. It does it on amd64, I didn't test it on i386. removing themes
HI all, I am going through the gnome-themes package looking into what we need and what we don't need. As far as I can tell the only theme we need from this is the high-contrast-* themes. Crux, Glider and Co could easily go into another theme package which is installable by the user if so wished. What do you think? What is the command(s) to uncompress tar archive?!?
Hi All, I have a tar archive user_backup_20080918.tgz -- which is 19.4 GB of data which was previously my home folder, with many sub-folders, for my (old) user name 'user'. I have since reinstalled Linux... actually a new installation of Linux Ubuntu Mint. Now I want to uncompress the archive to my new home folder with my new user name of 'peter' what are the commands I need to do to achieve this?!? note that the archive contains: user_backup_20080918.tgz (19.4 GB filesize) + user (folder) + many folder and sub-folders here, as well as hidden files with leading dots in their filenames. eg. would need to uncompress folders inside 'user' folder (old user name) to current 'peter' user (home) folder. I'm guessing that I'd need to use the chown (change owner) command -- but I don't know how it works... I think I'd need to run it recursively on sub-folders... correct?!? How do I do this? Yes, my desktop edition works fine with 3D graphics, NVIDIA drivers and Xinerama enabled. The problem is I've got a RME hammerfall and Behringer ADA8000 that NEED the RT kernel to operate without xruns. I think RT kernel is needed for low latency on any hardware. But I really wanted two screens! Maybe it is as Karoliina mentioned, AMD being the problem. If the RT kernel was mainstream, in other words, the RT would be in every desktop linux by default (without it being Ubuntu studio or some other distro for multimedia users), I would bet that the stability would become better as the userbase would be larger, there would be more people to file bugs at least. I think this should happen, it is a bit weird that there are two different branches of kernel on the first place, the RT helps even the responsiveness of desktop. For desktop use, the absence of RT has no purpose. In MacOSX real time kernel comes by default and it can not be disabled (of course someone might say now that, well, yes Mac does not even run on AMD hardware, but that is not the point here but how the kernel scheduling was designed). And as a consequence, there is no such thing as latency in audio applications, even with the internal hardware of MacBook one can do music with ease. Ordinary non-geek Mac-musicians propably don't even know what a latency problem is, they may have never seen such a thing, when you press a key in your master keyboard, a sound is produced by a software synth now rather than after 100 milliseconds, and that is without any tuning, without even knowing what xruns are, with default hardware without special drivers of any kind, it just works. This should be the case with Linux too. For Linux becoming more mainstream, I think it would be a good move to incorporate all the RT patches to ordinary desktop Linux kernels (e.g. ordinary Ubuntu) and stop having it as a separate branch. [Ubuntu-BR] Meu micro pifou fazendo backup no Ubuntu.
Olá pessoal, Estou um tanto quanto desesperado :) Tenho (tinha) duas partições no meu micro, um com Ubuntu e outra com o OpenSuse. Como o OpenSuse vivia dando problema, resolvi deixar só com o Ubuntu, então pra isso comecei a fazer um backup por segurança, no Ubuntu usando o Remastersys. Estava fazendo no sabado de manhã, e quando chegou uns 15% do backup saí de perto do micro por uns 10 minutos e quando voltei a tela estava desligada e mouse e teclado travados. Tentei reiniciar o micro com Crtl+Alt+del, mas como disse, o teclado estava travado, então fui direto no botão de power on/off na cpu e também não respondia. A única forma de desligar, foi puxando da tomada, então foi o que fiz. Não sei o que aconteceu, então fiquei uns minutos e pluguei na tomada novamente e liguei o micro normalmente. Entrei no diretório remastersys onde é gravado a *.iso e ví que tinha uma pasta chamada tmpiso (acho que era esse o nome), ou seja, o backup não tinha terminado, então entrei no Remastersys de novo, limpei os temporários e mandei executar novamente o backup, e mais uma vez, quando estava uns 20% saí de perto do micro (besteira minha, deveria ter ficado perto pra ver onde ocorria o problema) e depois de uns 10 minutos, voltei e vi que tinha acontecido de novo, a tela desligada, o mouse e teclados travados e não conseguia desligar o micro pela cpu, só puxando da tomada. O problema é que o micro não carrega mais. Ligo na tomada, aperto o botão na cpu e liga a luz verde da força apenas, mas não carrega, não dá sinal algum, ou seja, está passando força mas alguma coisa foi pro espaço. Alguém já passou por isso ou tem alguma dica? Será que o problema foi a proteção de tela que pode ter entrado em execução enquanto rodava o backup? O micro tem no máximo 1 ano de uso. Será que esse papo que o Ubuntu detona o HD é verdade? Marcelo, Sinceramente acho irrelevante o fato de citarmos ou não a matriz da questão e explico: Em 90% dos casos, as pessoas citam eu uso um Linux, alguns até aguardam que lhes questionem qual. Acho que a grande vantagem da mídia Linux é exatamente a variedade de distribuições, permitindo aos usuários optarem pelas que melhor lhes convierem e o derpertar do interesse em testar outras. Pode parecer uma mascaração da origem, mas não é, ao contrário, é uma consolidação da credibilidade no sistema e suas variações. Todos sabem que Windows é Windows e alguns que Mac é Mac, já ouviram falar... por aí. Mas quando você cita Ubuntu, Mandriva, Fedora, Kirumim ou outra distro, automaticamente as pessoas pensam em Linux. As distribuições Linux se tornaram, a grosso modo, uma grande família, filhas de um mesmo pai, o Linux de código livre. Bem, este é o meu ponto de vista. Acho que o caminho está sustentado e bem dirigido. PS: Há alguns anos, no auge da Intel, comprava-se uma motherboard marca tal e questionávamos: o chipset é Intel? Naquela época, não importava a marca da placa, o importante é que ela era uma Intel. A minha opinião sobre aos post contra o Linux: 1 - Essa lista de discussão é para sanarmos dúvidas ou ajudar quem necessita no que for necessário. 2 - Discutir sobre softwares que rodem no ambiente Linux e opiniões sobre a qualidade dos mesmos 3 - Ninguém é OBRIGADO a usar LInux, usa quem gosta, quem quer uma plataforma de LIBERDADE entre vários softwares que fazem a mesma coisa, so que com suas diferenças. 4 - Usa quem quer descobrir coisas novas 5 - Usa, quem não suporta mais defrag, anti adware, spyware, anti-virus e companhia. 6 - Usa quem não suporta mais ter que consertar a ferramenta para poder usa-la. 7 - Quem usa tem que ter a consciência de que está mudando pra um mundo completamente diferente do MS Windows, que o Linux não é feito pra Jogos (ainda) 8 - São 98% de users MS contra 2% de LInux Users, mesmo sabendo que a cada ano e Mês tem mais adeptos do Pinguim , então pense muito bem antes de mudar. 9 - Usa quem não quer ficar trocando de PC/Notebook a cada três anos ou gastar com hardware a mais porque o $istema te obriga. 10 - Quem usa essa lista são pessoas que tem interesse de fazer o mudo livre crescer, todos tem a consciência de ajudar e procurar ajuda com humildade e educação. Márcio, Essa história de sistema X ou Y detona HD... esquece, se o HD está para ser detonado, vai ser por qualquer sistema, ok? Primeiro, você citou que o Suse já estava apresentando problemas, o que poderia ser uma indicação de que poderia haver algo de errado com seu hard. Quando começam os problemas eles se extenderão, impreterivelmente. Verifique as conexões e cabos, veja se não estão dobrados, se estão perfeitamente excaixados na placa e no HD. Faça um checkup no disco pelo Ubuntu, se não me engano o comando é: chkdsk c: /f /r (me corrijam, se errado). Se houverem problemas no hd, o melhor seria você utilizar outra mídia para bootar e salvar os seus arquivos, pois não creio que será possível efetuar o resmastersys se houverem danos no HD. Após isto, utilize um OnTrack Disk Manager para o seu HD (baixe no site do fabricante), crie os disquetes para boot e tente recuperar o HD. Habitualmente, eu utilizo o Zero Fill Full seguido do Update MBR. Refaça as partições, formate-as e cheque novamente o HD pelo LiveCd do Ubuntu antes de proceder a instalação. Olá Salles Bom, um dos problemas que ocorria no suse era uma tela de mensagem de erro, toda vez que eu desligava ou reiniciava o micro, ela travava a tela e enquanto eu não clicasse em OK, não reiniciava/desligava. Hoje a noite vou abrir o micro e tentar reconectar tudo, memoria, hd, etc, mas só vou conseguir gerar esse disco de boot ou rodar o chkdskquando o micro ligar, pq por enquanto ele tá 'morto'. Já usou o remastersys antes ? Existe um processo no remastersys que como 100% da CPU, não importando se é dualcore, quard,... Assim, eu suspeito que seu micro não travou, apenas tava engajado com o processo do remastersys. Eu teria esperado mais algum tempo. Quando uso o remastersys e gravo imagens acima de 2Gb, durante a instalação há uma etapa chamada de detectando hardware que leva uns 10~15minutos, que pode dar a entender que travou, quando na realidade aquela é etapa é lenta demais. O seu jeito agora é buscar um livecd e tentar acessar as particoes diretamente pelo livecd. Queda de energia abrupta pode sim danificar o disco, especialmente se ele estiver gravando, daí voce deve sempre olhar para o led de acesso ao disco se verificar que ele está gravando (piscando muito) então aquele é um péssimo momento para dar um boot a frio.O dano pode ser apenas lógico fazendo voce perder os dados, ou pode ser físico porque algum componente não se comportou da maneira como devia. As cabeças de gravação do HD deveriam flutuar sobre os pratos, mas a experiencia me mostrou que nem todos se comportam assim, já vi aovivo discos serem denotados ou aparecerem badclusters por interrupção de energia. [Ubuntu-BR] Equivalente ao Movie Maker
Oi, pessoal! Agora que meu Ubuntu está funcionando a t-o-d-o v-a-p-o-r :-D, queria um conselho de vocês referente a um software que eu não posso ficar sem: o Movie Maker. Procurei em sites de programas equivalentes, e achei alguns nomes: Avidemux, DIVA, Cinelerra, Lives, Kino Kdenlive, Main Actor, PiTiVi, LIVES e Open Movie Editor. Qual vocês me sugerem? O ideal seria que o software aceitasse imagens e vídeos, e que, de preferência, tivesse alguns efeitos de transição. Hamacker, Já usei o Remastersys duas vezes, tenho um cd com uma .iso do ubuntu, que gerei com o remastersys, depois de algumas alterações que fiz nele em Setembro. Mas resolvi fazer mais uma antes de apagar o suse. Quando cheguei perto do micro e vi tudo travado, fiquei esperando de olho no led de processamento (laranja) pra ver se estava processando alguma coisa mas estava apagado e ficou assim por um bom tempo, então tentei deligar pela cpu mas como não tive resposta usei o método suicida e puxei da tomada. Pode ter ocorrido isso mesmo de naquele momento o Remastersys estar em um processo de reconhecimento, vai saber.. se isso aconteceu, dancei! O estranho que nas duas vezes que usei o remastersys, não ficou travado assim. Agora não sei nem o que fazer... ser for o HD e eu conseguir um de um outro micro aqui no escritório, mesmo que tenho o windows instalado, mas pra testar em casa. O mais completo desses - eu acho - é o Cinelerra. É o que eu uso. Se vc vai trabalhar com multimídia em plataforma livre, te aconselho a dar uma olhada no portal Estúdio Livre: http://estudiolivre.org . Tem muita informação interessante sobre edição de áudio, vídeo, imagem, etc em Linux. Márcio, Se teu micro não está partindo (está morto), seria bom ver outros detalhes pois, se não parte, o problema deve ser outro. Retire o cooler, verifique se o processador apresenta algum sinal de curto ou cheiro de queimado, coloque nova camada de pasta térmica (não exceda o limite do chip) e cheque os pentes de memória. Observe se, ao ligar, a máquina tenta acessar o hd. Para atribuir o problema ao HD, no mínimo você tem que acessar o setup da bios e verificar se ele está sendo reconhecido. Primeiro, você citou que o Suse já estava apresentando problemas, o que poderia ser uma indicação de que poderia haver algo de errado com seu hard. Quando começam os problemas eles se extenderão, impreterivelmente. Verifique as conexões e cabos, veja se não estão dobrados, se estão perfeitamente excaixados na placa e no HD. Faça um checkup no disco pelo Ubuntu, se não me engano o comando é: chkdsk c: /f /r (me corrijam, se errado). Se houverem problemas no hd, o melhor seria você utilizar outra mídia para bootar e salvar os seus arquivos, pois não creio que será possível efetuar o resmastersys se houverem danos no HD. Após isto, utilize um OnTrack Disk Manager para o seu HD (baixe no site do fabricante), crie os disquetes para boot e tente recuperar o HD. Habitualmente, eu utilizo o Zero Fill Full seguido do Update MBR. Refaça as partições, formate-as e cheque novamente o HD pelo LiveCd do Ubuntu antes de proceder a instalação. Entrei no diretório remastersys onde é gravado a *.iso e ví que tinha uma pasta chamada tmpiso (acho que era esse o nome), ou seja, o backup não tinha terminado, então entrei no Remastersys de novo, limpei os temporários e mandei executar novamente o backup, e mais uma vez, quando estava uns 20% saí de perto do micro (besteira minha, deveria ter ficado perto pra ver onde ocorria o problema) e depois de uns 10 minutos, voltei e vi que tinha acontecido de novo, a tela desligada, o mouse e teclados travados e não conseguia desligar o micro pela cpu, só puxando da tomada. O problema é que o micro não carrega mais. Ligo na tomada, aperto o botão na cpu e liga a luz verde da força apenas, mas não carrega, não dá sinal algum, ou seja, está passando força mas alguma coisa foi pro espaço. Alguém já passou por isso ou tem alguma dica? Será que o problema foi a proteção de tela que pode ter entrado em execução enquanto rodava o backup? O micro tem no máximo 1 ano de uso. Será que esse papo que o Ubuntu detona o HD é verdade? Márcio, O Hamacker está corretíssimo, desligamentos obruptos quando em um HD ativo podem causar sérios estragos ou manda-lo para o espaço de vez. As consequências são piores nos Satas, devido à sua velocidade. Em vias de regra jamais faça isto e, se realmente for necessário, aguarde a ociosidade do sistema para cortar a energia. PS: Caso você não saiba: O desligamento das CPUs ATX pode ser feito mantendo-se o botão de start pressionado durante alguns segundos. Nas antigas AT, bastava prission-lo e tchau. As cabeças de gravação do HD deveriam flutuar sobre os pratos, mas a experiencia me mostrou que nem todos se comportam assim, já vi aovivo discos serem denotados ou aparecerem badclusters por interrupção de energia. Observe se, ao ligar, a máquina tenta acessar o hd. 1 Bem lembrado pode ser travamento por aquecimento, acompanha a temperatura na bios do computador ao ligar, deixa uns 10 minutos ligado e ve se a temperatura sobe de forma muito rapida ou se vai aumentando gradativamente. 2 Testa teu PC com um Live CD antes de testar o HD 3 Faz o que o pessoal falou antes, mas antes da um reset nos dados da BIOS do computador só por desencargo!. Tenta detectar o hardware novamente a verificar as opções da BIOS, verifica se tens e carrega o opção load bios defaults 4 Verifica se com o live cd o computador subiu e retorna na bios para ver a temperatura e RPM do cooler. PS: Caso você não saiba: O desligamento das CPUs ATX pode ser feito mantendo-se o botão de start pressionado durante alguns segundos. Nas antigas AT, bastava prission-lo e tchau. Normalmente isso pode ser configurado na BIOS(em placa mães um pouco melhores), com a opção press power (instant-off ou delay 2, 3,4 secs) não são todas MBs que tem isso mas existe. Algumas trazem a opção de state after failure, que são stand by, on/off Em regra Geral se segurar o power por um tempo desliga, entretanto em vez de tirar o cabo da tomada ou segurar no DEDO-OFF da um reset então (dos males menor) depois DEDO-OFF. Retire o cooler, verifique se o processador apresenta algum sinal de curto ou cheiro de queimado, coloque nova camada de pasta térmica (não exceda o limite do chip) e cheque os pentes de memória. Observe se, ao ligar, a máquina tenta acessar o hd. 1 Bem lembrado pode ser travamento por aquecimento, acompanha a temperatura na bios do computador ao ligar, deixa uns 10 minutos ligado e ve se a temperatura sobe de forma muito rapida ou se vai aumentando gradativamente. 2 Testa teu PC com um Live CD antes de testar o HD 3 Faz o que o pessoal falou antes, mas antes da um reset nos dados da BIOS do computador só por desencargo!. Tenta detectar o hardware novamente a verificar as opções da BIOS, verifica se tens e carrega o opção load bios defaults 4 Verifica se com o live cd o computador subiu e retorna na bios para ver a temperatura e RPM do cooler. [Ubuntu-BR] Proteção de Tela Trava o Computado r
Boa Tarde a Todos, Recentemente fui habilitar uma proteção de tela no meu computador e não consigo mais alterá-la. Quando o a proteção entra em funcionamento, trava todo o micro, me restando apenas a opção de clicar CTRL+ALT+TAB. Tentei desabilitá-la mas mas quando abro o gnome-screensaver-preferences ele trava também, achei que fosse algo relacionado ao Compiz, mas mesmo este desabilitado, o configurador da Proteção de Tela trava novamente. Olá Alex, Detalhe, o reset não estava funcionando. Não sabia da dica do Salles de manter pressionado o botão de start por alguns segundos, então após varias tentativas sem sucesso de reiniciar o único jeito foi puxar da tomada. Pessoal sei que algumas ou todas as medidas tomadas no linux para inicializar o sistema são para a seguranca do usuario... Mas as vezes se faz necessário algumas coisas que ao ver parecem bobeira mas é uma questao pessoal :) Por exemplo como logar em modo Root (administrador) no Ubuntu ? É possivel iniciar a maquina e entrar no sistema sem pedir login, como no windows ? Ou pelo menos já vir selecionado o usuario padrao para so digitarmos a senha... Cara, Tem um manual do Ubuntu que vc pode acessar pelo próprio menu, tem um ícone de uma bóia, ideal pra quem tá pedindo socorro. ;) Nesse manual, procure por Conectar Internet ou ADSL, e vai te falar pra você executar 2 ou 3 comandos no terminal no Ubuntu pra configurar sua conexão com a net. Na barra de menu superior, entre no menu *Sistema Ajuda e Suporte*; Na janela do *Centro de Ajuda Ubuntu*, você encontra o item *Perguntas Comuns - Conectando à Internet* com instruções básicas sobre a configuração, normalmente é o suficiente para instalar a internet em computadores pessoais. Carma, homem. Se você usa login e senha para se conectar, abra o terminal (console) e digite: sudo pppoeconf (enter) entre com sua senha (do ubuntu) Siga as instruções, coloque seu login, sua senha e confirme tudo em diante. Ao final, você já estará conectado. O Ubuntu iniciará a conexão sempre que você o iniciar sem que precise fazer isto novamente. Marcelo, Não é bobeira você ter que iniciar um usuário com senha, ao contrário. Entrando como root você estará pondo em risco seu sistema, pois qualquer coisa poderá ser efetuada sem sua permissão. Utilizando um usuário, toda e qualquer alteração no sistema só será efetuada mediante sua autorização ao ser-lhe solicitada a autenticação como root. Não é incoveniente, é segurança. Hum... acho que me expressei mal ou voce entendeu mal :) Nao quiz dizer que o modo usado pelo ubuntu é bobeira... disse que o que eu quero pode parecer bobeira :) Sei que o modo utilizado é o mais indicado e apóio :) É que as vezes estamos usando uma maquina que nao requer muita ou nenhuma seguranca (questa pessoal mesmo) e entao se tivesse jeito de logar direto seria mais pratico... haja visto que uso algumas maquinas para simplesmente para fazer testes e tenho que reiniciar com frequencia. Nao importa se vao invadir ou nao... é pra teste mesmo.
