The reduced Voiceover volume in the Alexa app started a few upgrades ago. To
get Voiceover working correctly after opening the Amazon App do the following.

1. Open the Amazon Alexa App then, to get Voiceover back, press the Home button
on your SE 2020 to jump to your home screen and then return to the Alexa
app using the App Switcher and you should now have Voiceover back.

2. Now go down to the bottom right corner of the screen, and do a single finger
double tap on the More tab. It's tab 5 of 5 on the bottomline tool bar.

3. Go to the top left corner below the status bar and swipe to, Settings, and
do a single finger double tap to open.

4. Swipe right on the screen that opens to, Alexa App Settings, and single
finger double tap to open.

5. Swipe to, Enable Alexa hands free, and make sure it is turned on.

After turning on Alexa hands free the next time you open the Alexa app,
Voiceover should again be working at the correct volume level. At least it did
for me after I did this.

is to do what Richard suggested by opening the app switcher and clicking on the

if you turn handsfree on in the app it fixes it, no need to open it and go to

RE: Amazon Alexa App

2022-07-23 Thread MamaPeach
You are right, that worked. I launched the app and the volume was extremely
low. I opened the app switcher and tapped on the Alexa app and it brought the
volume back up to normal. THANK YOU SO MUCH! That is a very doable fix. It is
weird how the volume issue is a random thing though.

Try bringing up the app switcher, but do not close the app, just double tap on
it from the app switcher and see if that works.

I think the other method has to do with changing the setting so it isn't always
listening for its name.

I have mine listening, and the app switcher trick seems to work fine for me.

RE: Amazon Alexa App Problem

2021-06-24 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi.

Count me as one of those that the app being discussed is routing Voiceover to
the ear speaker on my iPhone X. I really appreciate learning about this bug. I
would have thought my phone was broken. For me, activating the app switcher and
double tapping on the app gets things working as normal.

Have a blessed day and don't work too hard.

Hi.

The Amazon Music app switched Voiceover to the ear speaker on my iPhone. Made
it difficult to get going. As the message I'm replying to says, might be what's
going on.

Hi,

Hmm that is strange. Try reinstalling the app maybe? Remember that you
will have to have your Amazon sign-in info to get back in. You won't lose
any of your data on Alexa or anything if you do this. Also maybe even
before that, restart your phone? Is this the only App it is doing thi to?

All that airplane mode does is turn off all external access like to the
cellular data and wi-fi.
So, possibly the app got stuck trying to access something and toggling Airplane
mode on then off got it unstuck.
Kind of like hitting the top of a TV when it wasn't looking right back in the

RE: Amazon Alexa App Problem

2021-06-24 Thread deidreandlouise
Edward, and others
You can turn on airplane mode through the device itself. Is that what
you did, or did you turn it off on your phone?
I'm having allkinds of problems with my Echo 10. It no longer calls my
phone when I ask it to call me. It says it will call the Alexa App instead
which I don't want because I never have it open unless I want to adjust
settings. For days it would not stop what was playing when I asked. I noticed
this was the case if an ad was playing, but then it started doing it when I was
playing podcasts. It seems to have gotten itself together since that interval
of days.
There is a place on the phone, and possibly on the device too, to
update the App, so that might be in order.
Never hesitate to call the number on Amazon's main page that is listed
towards the bottom of the page. It provides a link for customers with
disabilities. I haven't called it in awhile, but you will be put through to
technical support. I can't remember now if this was under a heading for the
Alexa App or not, but it is on the opening page when you go to the on-line
shopping site.
The customer service is excellent and fast. You will not be on hold for
long. They willalso send you follow-up information if you ask for it.

Hi all,

The first things I tried were shutting down and restarting my iPhone and then I
tried resetting the phone. None of this made a difference. Last night, I
spent a lot of time doing some research on the Internet and trying a number of
solutions that people suggested. I finally found a post that recommended
turning off and then turning on airplane mode. I didn't hold out much hope for
this solution but I was getting a bit desperate. I have numerous Amazon
devices around the house and I didn't want to lose all the information about
these devices stored in the Alexa app. Surprisingly, turning off and then
turning on airplane mode solved the problem. I don't know what airplane mode
has to do with the Alexa app but I'm glad to have things working again. Thanks.

I had the exact same thing happen to me on two of my phones yesterday after
updating the Amazon Shopping app. Uninstalling the app, then doing a reboot,
and then installing the app again solved the problem. And yes, I did have to
sign back into the app as well as fix its notification settings.

Hi,

Hmm that is strange. Try reinstalling the app maybe? Remember that you will
have to have your Amazon sign-in info to get back in. You won’t lose any of
your data on Alexa or anything if you do this. Also maybe even before that,
restart your phone? Is this the only App it is doing thi to?

How to Cancel a Reminder in the Amazon Alexa App

Greetings, everyone.

I can't figure out how to cancel a reminder in the Alexa app. When I go to

double-tap on one of them, I can't find a way to edit or cancel it. The
rotor doesn't have an "Actions" option. Thanks for all help.

miss, and say that they cannot add from the Amazon Skills store because of
the same issues many of us are having with Amazon in general; it constantly
says “loading” and dialog boxes keep popping up. I suggested trying adding
through the skills store on the Amazon iPhone app, but they are saying it is
frustrating that if they have to use their iPhone, they should be able to
use the app made specifically for what they want to do. I tend to agree. Is
anyone else having issues, and if so, can anyone offer some tips for me to
offer?

Christine
P.S. One issue in particular seems to be finding and adding news items to
the “flash briefing”.

Anyone else experiencing issues with Amazon Alexa app?

2018-01-30 Thread Christine Grassman
A few friends have reported that they are having a lot of trouble with the
Amazon Alexa app, particularly with regard to accessing information about
skills and enabling them. They are reporting that it is hit or miss, usually
miss, and say that they cannot add from the Amazon Skills store because of the
same issues many of us are having with Amazon in general; it constantly says
“loading” and dialog boxes keep popping up. I suggested trying adding through
the skills store on the Amazon iPhone app, but they are saying it is
frustrating that if they have to use their iPhone, they should be able to use
the app made specifically for what they want to do. I tend to agree. Is anyone

2017-02-09 Thread Terry Nord
Hi
I wonder if anyone would be willing to help me with the Amazon Alexa app? I
have some questions I need answered about how to set some things up with the
app. Contact me privately with my email address. Thanks.
