Good call, can't forget Chi Town's roots in the minimal techno movement.
A lot of what Dan Bell and those guys did was add to the foundation that
artists like, Mike Hitman Wilson, Steve Poindexter, etc built. Long live the
Casio RZ1 :)

The Mark Bell productions in Bjorks Vesperine were quite dirty, glitchty,
clickly etc whereas Gez Varley's rather superb Bayou Paradise was very deep
techno, lots of echo, reverb with minimal and clean production. It would be

When I've seen Q-Burns live his stage presence was very good - he was
extremely busy working loads of instruments and bopping along to his groove
at the same time. I think he even look up at the audience on occasion.

(hence the name) and so that sound evolved through the sixties and early
seventies. The peak of that sound is arguably the period over '68-'71. Check
out the 2 compilations - are they called "Funky People" 1 & 2? - of James
Teste didn't make it to the PLus 8 classics CDs probably because it was released
on Probe? Great stuff. Whatever became of these guys anyway?
