it, lock you up in the middle of the desert or pay a small impoverished
pacific island to lock you up, and then send you a bill for the lot.
oh yeah, if you have a kid they'll kick you out of the country but keep the
child.
place the warped record in a tightly packed record crate for a week or so.
works a treat.

hi all
i know we've had this several times
before, but
when people find out that i dj, it's not uncommon that they say they don't
like dance music. i then ask where they've been dancing, what clubs, what
djs. they usually reply that they don't go dancing, they just listened to
dance music at a friends place, on the radio etc.
that's when i point out
i'm a deep house (among other genres) dj who moved (back) to sydney after 10
years in new york. i can't get a booking playing deep house here. i get
booked to play techno and electro.
the stuff that people in sydney call deep house has nothing to do with the
stuff i play.
i go to nights billed as
use a mixture of alcohol and distilled water with a ratio of 1 to 10. place
the mixture in a spray bottle, spray a little on a cleaning pad.
type of alcohol to use: isopropyl(sp?) (which is sold as rubbing alcohol in
the states) or methylated spirits.

if you like the ugly edits make your own. just download pro tools (there is
a free version that has everything you need for an edit) and cut and paste.
it's really simple.

and they'll be selling their own line of kraftwerk 'tour de france' cycling
clothes!
anybody seen these?

roberts vocal together.

that can't be right.
the rhythm control release has larry heard's 'can u feel it' with the chuck
robert's speech over the top.
it's the same version as the trax release.

that confuses things even more. my copy of rhythm control has 'can u feel
it' with the chuck roberts vocal over the top. it sounds the same as the
trax release. it's the b side inside cut.
mine's a green label, black text, four tracks, 1987, no cat # that i can
see, on catch a beat records. the
i'm having trouble downloading mp3 files from deep house pages. i'm on a mac
using explorer. the mix isn't downloded by the downlaod manager. instead it
seems to end up in the cache as a useless, non mp3 file.
anybody had similar problems? any suggestions?
thanks

ha ha this reminds of the phunky acid bubblebath parties in sydney from back
maybe francois k was just trying to correct the balance of genre shifting
between cities. durring the mid 90s in new york there seemed to be a lot of
techno djs coming to new york and playing second rate garage/body and soul
styled sets. it seems to have tapered off after that. but rob hood always
pierre and spanky (as the coming down band) also have a track called slo mo
acid. it's on the acid trax vol 1 comp released by fierce records.

another chic/chicago classic combination is tyree's 'i fear the night' on dj
international. it's credited as 'tyree (featuring chic). the track is an
amazing 808 workout with just some vocals over the top. i take it the vocals
come for chic, is that right?
