Hi,
is there a way to map the left channel of my soundcard to /dev/dsp0 and
the right to /dev/dsp1 (for example)?
Thanks if anybody can help me with this,
Stefan

Please report back which one works, and your alsa version (alsa driver version
can be found via cat /proc/asound/version, get to know the alsa library
version depends on the package manager you use).

Hi,
does anybody know, if and how I can let alsa emulate two oss devices
using one soundcard (with 4 channels)?
I have a sblive and want to map the rear speakers to one oss device and
the front speakers to another.
Is that possible and if, how?
Help is much appreciated! :)

Try something like
arecord -Ddefault:1 -fdat -v | aplay -vv

capture channel in alsamixer/kmix -
only left channel is changed
amixer get Mic:
indicates Capture [on] for both channels, even if only left channel is set to
Mic
amixer cset name='Capture Source' 3,3 sets both channels to Aux, so it works
as expected

whether this is for buildint or isapnptools pnp support.
Anyway, I'd be quite grateful for a hint how to tell alsa *NOT* to use
IRQ 5 ...
Thanks a lot in advance!
Stefan.

modprobe snd-es18xx irq=10
Hm. But this is not really the way for automating startup
by even writing a plugin) ?
If this seems to be possible, can anybody hint the direction to go, give
a rough sketch of what has to be done ?
Thanks a lot,
