The FM PA can be more efficient than the linear PA. If you constrain the FM
deviation to be very narrow you can get 6 dB greater power efficiency for FM
given a fixed peak envelope power ("HF Radio Systems and Circuits," page
59).

I've enjoyed reading this segmen
thing that supports
multiple digital voice QSOs with less power than now required for analog FM
or SSB.

My daughter, who is a new ham has just given up on trying SO-50. 5 times now
she has set up the station to work someone and the moment she unkeys, there is
someone calling and not listening. We here, have a TS-2000 with az-el setup and
2 yagis with auto tracking. I totally agree with the comment
rom home, please consider it. With new operators showing up
on the birds every day, there is always a need for an uncommon grid. And you
will have a lot of fun doing it! Just ask anyone on my list.

27;t worry
much about that. Now I don't do much EME as I don't have any power, but
I've monitored EME and this seems to get me pretty close. I will also be
glad to see what others do to calibrate.

It was 300 miles one way. Now
is your chance to work this grid and state. Mike was able to work
down pretty low. This is a great opportunity. He was worked on FO-29.
