Is that a SB2 on top of the left speaker?

Yeah, I didn't really think that one out. Maybe I could find an old cast
iron stove, and convert it into a subwoofer!
And...no...that's an alarm clock. Those speakers (sadly) are at my
parent's place in Cali.

Thin sheet cast iron. Hmmm, is that like Army Intellegence?

That's how the cabinet comes in the kit! Sheesh, you think I'd do that?
Actually, it looks kind of

I never wanted to 'dual'. I just mentioned that using two subs is a
ubiquitous suggestion. If it were a dual, you already lost-IMHO.
I went to the outlaw site to read about the sub Jon mentioned, lo and

I descided to just go with the flow; Threw away the opamp, removed some
caps, and added some blackgate's.
And I must say
SO much improvement! all sharpness & brightness is totally gone,
much more detail overall. A recommendation for everyone.

There's really no way to know, other than listening. But I doubt you're
going to find much difference without an equipment upgrade. You might
also try the digital coax output while you're experimenting. Some here
have commented it sounds better than optical on their systems.
Unfortunately, the
I think if you can't tell the difference, it doesn't really matter...

I am not trying to be clever, but should you use whichever sounds best
to you?
Look at it as follows. The DACs in both machines have to cost less than
$100. If you had a high end Yamy Z9 or something the answer would be
more obvious. An external DAC is also an upgrade option. For now, it
must be

I have one sub. Crossed over about 45 or 50 hz.

effect on the headphone output? If I take the left/right straight from
the DAC chip, the headphone output probably fails to function. Am I
correct?

was wondering if I should use the DACs in the SB3 (which I assume means
