Can't give any objective advice, only an anecdote. I've been using a RW modded SB3. This is the latest mod with battery supply and upgraded opamp. I am nothing but thrilled using the analog outs to a OBH-12 Creek passive, direct to a pair of Genelec 8020s. Just killer!

to hold off on shipping it because I use a passive pre in my system and was on the fence weather to get the digital mod only or the full mod. I couldn't be happier at the changes he's made and I should be getting it in a couple of weeks.

expense of an external solution with comparable performance. Had Slim Devices chosen to target a more restricted (read higher end) part of the market, I'm sure they would have come up with a higher performance product as well. --

will raise the ultimate cost. I own an older model, the CX2300, which I have been happy with. Having said that, its the weakest link in my system and am looking to replace it. There aren't a lot of reasonably priced options out there.
